We have a LG side by side buit in in which the drain plug has failed again. Calle for service and Val came out on Wednesday and determined what the problem was in regards to water dripping in freezer and turning to ice. Had to shut down unit for 24 hours and Val returned Friday Morning , took apart freezer and fixed the issue. Turned the unit back on and will have to wait 24 hours until everything is running on Saturday. Very comfortable that Val knew what needed to to done. I called and got an appointment over the weekend within an hour. That's very amazing and their diagnostic check fee is very reasonable. I had an older Kitchenaid beverage fridge that I needed to get diagnostics for to check how much the repairs would cost and the technician did a very thorough job on the analysis. He explained in full detail what needed to be fixed and didn't try to push me to repair it. He actually recommended that I buy a new one because the cost of repairing it would be way too high compared to buying a new one. I'm not your usual Yelp reviewer...I'm not looking for 'deal'...I'm a 'cry once, buy once' kinda person. I simply want the best people doing work in my house. I went through as many of the top-rated appliance repair places on Yelp and I chose A11...and I'm happy to say it was an excellent choice. I called them at 7am this morning because our Whirlpool fridge went out in the middle of the night...there were no lights when you opened the fridge door and I hears a faint but repetitive clunking noise. It did not sound good. Anyway, I got an immediate response and they were able to fit me in same day (1:30). Val showed up and asked me a few simple questions and then got right to work. Within 30 minutes, he had it figured out and gave me a reasonable quote to complete the work. It took about 20 minutes from that point to find my fridge working as good as new. He also explained that it required 24 hours to get the temperature stabilized before we start restocking. Val was quick, super friendly and very professional. The work area was spotless when he left. Val, the technician who came is a very pleasant young man. After spending like 30 minutes diagnosing the problem (my Insignia wine cooler stopped cooling after 2 years) he concluded that I should rather replace it with a brand new one because the Freon leaked, leading to the compression running on fumes, thus the whole system failed. People, after the first year of under warranty, Insignia is a bust. I am so regretful of purchasing it, and it was not that cheap. After tax , delivery and installation (slide-in), it ran me approximately $1,000. Anyway, that is not the point here. A11 appliance repair is a pretty decent company. I have a not so old washing machine that always smelled, and my laundry, post-wash, always had a moldy scent. I didn't want to purchase a new machine so I figured I'd get an expert out here to see if something else could be done. They replied to my inquiry within minutes, and had someone out here the next day. Ilia provided a lot of details on what could be the issue, and made suggestions. He also showed me where to find the filter and how/when to clean it (who knew we had to clean a washing machine filter!?). A couple days later, he was back, with a new rubber gasket to replace my moldy one. They also cleaned out the lint trap (it goes deep!) in my dryer for good measure.
