this review is for the pharmacy. i went there recently to have a prescription filled. the pharmacist on staff looked at the script, and told me he couldn't fill it without verifying, because there were different handwritings on it. mind you, one was his, since he had just scribbled over my birthdate. other than that, i had not touched the prescription since i had put in in my wallet in my doctor's office. unfortunately, my dr's office was closed at this point, verification was impossible. he told me to come back the next day and walked away. i asked him if he was aware that this was an important medication, and he just shrugged his shoulders. i was getting ready to leave for another pharmacy, but realized that it might even be more difficult to do so, given the fact that they don't have a record of my medication history. i have been taking this medication for over 5 years, and always received it through ralphs. so i returned with the intention of asking him for the courtesy to look up my name in his system, see that i have been receiving this medication for years, as well as hand him several ids, credit cards, and my ralphs card to proof my identity. as i walked back, he didn't even walk up to the window, just yelled :" what else". i kindly asked him if he could at least give me the courtesy of looking into his computer and pulling up my file. his response was: " i don't have to do anything. go someplace else." when i pointed out that his refusal to accept a perfectly good prescription would cause me a night of extreme discomfort, he responded "that's not my problem".
needless to say, i am upset and flabbergasted. i work in customer service, and never once have i been this rude to a customer. moreover, i wasn't trying to buy a sweater or lipstick, i needed medication. if he is so bothered by customers with a legitimate request, he should not be working in a health care related profession. i'm sure he was a mediocre graduate from some random online university, so maybe he could find a lab job feeding aspirin to lab rats for the rest of his career. when i asked for his his name, he shouted DR!!! o'neill, and i'm the MANAGER here. well, dr. o'neill, i couldn't help but notice your rather minuscule size, so i understand that you were trying to compensate by volume. however, being the manager doesn't make you more entitled to insulting customers, quite the contrary.
i contacted ralphs hr, not to complain about him, but to find out his full name. i'm not going to waste my time complaining to supervisors, i took the next step reporting him to the board of pharmacist of california.
and let me end this by saying that i have had nothing like good experiences at this pharmacy in the past. everybody who currently works there is courteous, caring and efficient. they were some grumpy people, but luckily, none of them lasted very long. of course now it all makes sense. i would be miserable too and look for a new place of employment if dr. blake o'neill was my boss. read more
