Hunting for some dinner deals, Usually around 7ish there some discount hot deli deals. I was hoping to snag something good an cheap. Unfortunately everything was gone. Lucky for me there was small rack of ribs hiding. Big score! It's my first time at this location, I didn't think anything of it when I walked in but when I walked out after checkout my car was gone!!! After walking around the parking lot with a bucket of sour cream and a rack of ribs. I walked back in and there was another entrance! What the heck? Very unique, and very relieved. Did what felt like the walk of shame through the front to the other side. Side notes: the floor looks kinda beat up, maybe they are going through some renovations. Self service check out leads to the south side of the parking lot.

I love walking into any Ralphs and seeing their huge and gorgeous floral displays!

I have only been here a handful of times but my most recent visit was very pleasant! They have so many great variety of items and I came hungry so I wanted to buy all the snacks I saw like Milanos and Nutter butters I wish I looked at his name tag but the cashier who helped me was super friendly! He gave me a plastic bag for free and bagged my item without me even asking. And he told me to have a great day! What excellent service! This location has tight parking but plenty of spots.

    Cheese!

Finally gave this Ralph's a try after hearing from another Yelper that this Ralph's was better than the one in Arcadia. From my OG Ralph's to this one, it totally is a different layout. For starters, this Ralph's is pretty big. They've also got a cheese section and a bigger deli area, similar to what you'd find at Whole Foods. They also happen to have a rear entrance and a front entrance. I personally was overwhelmed with how many people were here and how big this place was. I might pay this visit again when I have a charcuterie board to make.

Dear Pasadena Public Health Department Environmental Health Division,…read more I am writing to formally report a serious health code violation and unsanitary conditions observed at Ralphs Grocery Store, located at 160 N. Lake Ave., Pasadena, CA 91101. Incident Details * Date of Observation: Monday, July 27, 2026 * Time of Observation: Approximately 3:00 PM * Location Inside Store: Self-serve bagel and bread display cabinet Description of the Violation The self-serve bagel and bread display case was teeming with flies. Numerous insects were actively flying inside the cabinet and crawling directly all over the uncovered food products. I have captured clear video evidence documenting this infestation, which is available upon request for your investigation. Public Health Risks and Concerns This environment poses an immediate and severe health risk to consumers for several critical reasons: * Pathogen Transmission: Flies carry over 100 dangerous pathogens. They easily transfer hazardous bacteria such as Salmonella, E. coli, Listeria, and Shigella from external waste directly onto the food surfaces. * Direct Contamination: Because flies liquefy solid food, they regurgitate digestive enzymes and defecate on the bakery items. This leaves live bacteria and viruses behind. * Ready-to-Eat Hazards: These items are sold as ready-to-eat foods. Consumers eat them without cooking or heating them first, meaning there is no kill-step to destroy the transferred pathogens. This creates a high probability of foodborne illness. * Prolonged Exposure: The enclosed nature of the display cabinet traps the flies inside, leading to a high concentration of continuous contamination on the food. This active infestation indicates a critical failure in store sanitation, inadequate pest control management, and a clear violation of California retail food safety codes. Please initiate a health inspection of this facility as soon as possible to address this hazard and protect the public. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

But the elderly can't do that so it's why the lines are so long. Now here is the kicker. At the end of the checking line is a manager ...sometimes 2. A man and a woman. They are observing the long lines...counting something...just observing. It would help if THEY just go to the end of a long line and start bagging! See, that would be cool! You see you guys have not scheduled any baggers and the lines are so long they are down the aisles .. and you are just standing there? Of course they may say, well that's not my job. But that's the mentality that keeps things moving slow. It would be so nice if people just did what it takes to keep things moving. Either hire enough people OR get in there and start bagging! I remember back in the days there was a bagger at the end of each checkout aisle. A bagger and a casher! Those days are gone ...and most stores now see if they can get away with overworking the checker! Next thing you know they install self check outs! Rather than hire people and keep a system of people working they just get rid of people and have 1 person observing (like these managers were doing). What a world we are moving towards. But anyways that's what you see. I wish they would just hire bag boys and go back to the good ol days.

They showed they don't want my business, so....they won't have my business. I arrived for a pick-up; the wait seemed a little lengthy for the few cars in the pick-up spots. Then a staffer came out, saying that my order had been given to someone else. Mistakes happen, but that means they didn't check the code OR the car description on the order. Funny, they always checked MY details. It gets worse: I was then expected to wait until the other person returned with my groceries. Who would do this? I asked for a refund and left. Any professional store would have apologized and offered to quickly re-shop the order while I waited. Not this Vons! I called back and spoke with the manager on duty, who treated the situation very casually, completely unbothered. So I'm finished dealing with Vons for pick-up and delivery. I've moved my business to the Ralph's on Lake, where they are - so far - quick, professional and friendly with the pick-up service. Sad. This Vons used to be a really good store with great employees - now it is neither.

Est. back in 1936 and still going strong! Walked in this morning around 7:45AM and was greeted by 2 of their employees. They were very nice, kind and helpful. Even offered me a shopping cart to start my grocery shopping. They practically have everything from seafood, alcohol, sushi counter, to their deli/meat department, baked goods, along with fresh baked bread, canned and jarred foods, packaged pasta, beverages, hot cases; even a butcher that can cut and marinade your poultry according to your liking. I saw a Burrito Bar, (which was something new and interesting to me). They had fresh produce, party trays, dairy and a lot more. They have ample parking and street/metered parking too. They also have outdoor seating, if you choose to eat/drink your beverage, food outside. They do catering, pick up and delivery orders. Aisles were fully stocked and easy to navigate. It's a nice, CLEAN, big store with a lot of discounted items here and there. Which was nice. What I liked is that the manager was helping the cashiers, because they were very busy. It went straight to the trash, and never will I buy pizza from here again. Another time, the pizza stand was completely empty and I saw numerous packaged pizza doughs that looked like they had been out and over proofing for wayy too long! It wasn't refrigerated, and when I asked what happened, they said the burner broke down. If that's the case , you need to refrigerate the dough or hire someone that cares enough to handle food properly there. The cashiers never smile, don't make eye contact, and never greet you. They all look miserable ALL THE TIME! One time a cashier filled up one of my bags with really heavy groceries then told me to put it in the cart. I tried to pick it up and almost got a hernia ,and so I told him it's too heavy and I can't pick it up, and he just ignored me. He didn't try to put it in the cart himself because even he couldn't (it was so heavy). He didn't have the common sense or decency to even try emptying some of it into another bag . He just stood there, said nothing. (I ended up doing that myself) I tried to cut some slack for these guys, and give them the benefit of the doubt, and I've never once been rude to anyone there (even when I felt I had every right) I still kept quiet. However, the consistency of the horrendous customer service skills is disgraceful and disgusting. Where are the managers? Who is on the hiring committee? Why aren't any of these people getting proper training? Where is quality control? It's sad that standards are so low at this location that you treat your long time loyal customers this bad. Truly a shame. If I was a health inspector, I'd be shutting down your pizza center first, then I'd fire every single cashier there and train proper human beings to work with human beings.
