I don't come to erewhon often but once in a while I like to grab a couple things and a smoothie. It's soo busy here, and it makes for an unpleasant shopping experience. The aisles are very narrow and there's just so many people standing around. I've had their sushi before and it's pretty good for store bought sushi. The desserts are a hit or miss. Raw cinnamon roll - tastes nothing like a cinnamon roll, very nutty but doesn't taste bad, I just wouldn't get it again Coconut cake slice - I didn't try this but my kids liked it Raw vegan black bottom banana cream pie - decent but you need to eat it quickly because of the raw bananas Keto strawberry cheesecake - pretty good, I would order it again Coconut rice pudding - delicious, creamy, not too sweet We also tried a few drinks which we all delicious: Salted maple cowboy brew Crushed cococinno Coconut cloud smoothie Strawberry glaze skin smoothie The smoothies are delicious but can be very sweet and rich. I have heard of Erewhon for a while now, but never had a chance to check them out until recently. They are known for their highly recommended organic products. This location is at The Shops on Lake Ave in Pasadena. Parking garage is conveniently nearby just next door. Staff was so friendly and nice especially the gentleman standing at the front greeting everyone who walked into the store. Thank you Sir! Outside patio area available for chilling and dining. Great inside space was bright and clean. Aisles were perfectly stocked and organized. Deli had so many freshly prepared hot and cold foods. I don't think I've ever seen so much pre-packaged foods. Food galore at first sight. My eyes widened by the section. It was like being in a food amusement park. It was really fun to peruse the aisles. So very cool! I couldn't choose with so many options in front of my eyes, but I did end up buying half a pound of Nolan Beet Salad, one container of chicken breast lemon herb, and one container of tumeric rice. One tiny gripe, the prices were outrageously high on certain food items... $20+ per lb. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and indulge a little on healthy clean foods. I was okay in spending over $26 on my small lunch meal. It probably won't be a regular thing though. Beet salad was delicious and light. Beets were very sweet... I'm getting one pound next time. Chicken was a bit dry... probably won't get again. Tumeric rice was pleasantly soft and tasty... worth getting again. Here at Erewhon, you can buy a variety of delicious meals from hot pizza to some fresh fruit smoothies. We both just got drinks and a yogurt that we just wanted to try and it was all worth the money. We would definitely come back here soon to try something new. The service staff were very helpful and kind when we walked in Erewhon. Ambiance hit the WOW! for me. Was completely against the idea of a $25 smoothie, but was in a good mood so decided to take the plunge and find out for myself. I'd say if you're going to erewhon, you're going for the experience. Erewhon is a fancy supermarket with amazing presentation. Even the groceries are lined up in the neatest formation and the hot bar looks so organized. We tried the strawberry glaze smoothie and Malibu mango. Both were very delicious and pretty sweet. Very overpriced but it's a once in a while treat, not a daily thing for me. It was quite busy at the tonic bar so definitely prepare to wait if it's a weekend! Visiting for the week and on the top of my list was trying out the infamous smoothies here. Yes! They are truly worth it. Some of the finest ingredients used that no chain can produce. We also shopped around for snacks couldn't resist the immaculate sushi section. Beautifully displayed and the best market sushi I have tasted. I love torched (yakumi) fish on nirigis and chose the salmon. So glad I did bc I wasn't even that hungry but gladly inhaled 3 pieces from Hubs' box. DD loves crispy rice and got the imitation crab salad with freshly sliced avocado on top. Loved it! Before we left for home, we made another stop here for their hot deli breakfast bar and coffee bar and more smoothies. Yes, yes, yes. Came here after participating in a run club that meets here every Thursday evening. super super friendly and welcoming employees very clean and brightly lit interior, huge selection of interesting quirky, natural ultra healthy foods that are just fun to peruse. Prices are obviously a bit on the higher side, for what they're famous for, But still cool to see the diverse small businesses featured and fun ways to be healthy. I was so excited to enter this market. I looked around and saw many familiar brands that I have seen at other healthy markets. I was even more excited when I seen all the fresh food that they had. But the fresh food is very misdeceiving. I had thoroughly read the description of the food at the counter and when I had placed my order and received my food, the sticker that came out on the food said a whole nother list of ingredients. This market gives you the perception that you are getting clean ingredients in your food. When in all reality that is not the case. You have to wait to the printed sticker comes out on your order. I was gonna buy some blueberries since I was there for a specific brand of oat milk, til I realized it was $12 a box of **DRISCOLL'S** organic berries. You... can get these at your local Ralph's too... However, Erewhon is fantastic for finding interesting products you won't find elsewhere, and is generally an aesthetically pleasing shopping experience. Everything is displayed perfectly (except the berries I guess... they were strewn a little haphazardly), all labels lined right up, and in perfect order--til the shopper grabs something of course. After getting the oat milk I went for, I wandered around looking for intriguing things until my smoothies were ready. I love the Coconut Cloud and it's my go-to, almost tastes like a fruity vanilla cake, and get my husband whichever new collab they have at the time--this time it was Westside Whimsy (color was so pretty). Found a Thomas Keller x Armando Manni olive oil dark chocolate and gave that a try along with some other snacks. The smoothie bar is always consistent in terms of drink quality, and it takes about 10 minutes from ordering at the counter to get it. Despite how busy the store was, I was the only person in line to check out. The female cashier who helped me had a very strange attitude throughout the interaction. She asked if I needed a bag, and while I was answering, "No, I have a pickup order, so no need," she interrupted to ask if I had a membership. I ordered a tote bag from Erewhon that arrived with visible bleach stains. When I contacted customer service to report the damage, I was told that what I was seeing was simply a 'natural variation in the canvas,' which was completely false and frankly insulting. Rather than acknowledging the defective item, they doubled down, insisted all sales were final, and made it clear they had no intention of helping me. After five attempts to get any form of resolution, I was essentially told I was stuck with a damaged product. It was only after I threatened to write a review that they offered an exchange, which I declined. At that point, a refund was the only acceptable resolution given the experience I had been put through. For a brand that charges premium prices and markets itself as a luxury experience, the customer service protocols and quality assurance are appalling. Being gaslit over an obvious defect on a $160 item is not the standard I expected from Erewhon. Buyer beware, if your order arrives damaged, don't expect them to take responsibility. read more

So weird to see a 3.5 rating on Erewhon. Where do these folks shop? Haha. I've never seen a nicer grocer anywhere. The only thing I can think is that the Food Court is bringing them down, and rightfully so. This is literally the most beautiful and best maintained grocer I've ever seen. Aisles are meticulously laid out, color coordinated, and seemingly always perfect. I didn't even see workers fixing them by replacing and facing items as people grab items off the shelves but they obviously were. It was hopping and yet I didn't feel crunched. We decided to grab a bite at the food court, but I did regret that. Overpriced and not great. Maybe some items are better than others but mine was mediocre. It's hard to do cafeteria style well. But, Cory, who I was with enjoyed his meal. I loved how Erewhon had lots of glass jarred items, including pecans which I took home and fresh organic juices. Also, lots of fun and unique organic brands you can't find elsewhere. And, additional merch near the front. And, ready to go packaged foods too. Oh yeah, and Valet parking! So it's expensive but you know that when you come here. I didn't realize there was one in Pasadena but it was a nice surprise. I heard that if you order the meat plates, it's a bit more reasonable. I enjoyed a lovely breakfast on the patio -- beautiful and clean metal tables, modern greenery everywhere, a potted eucalyptus. My impression is that the hot food, boxed food, and coffee and smoothie bars are the way to go, along with the lotions and other toiletries. I really enjoyed my bacon and egg breakfast burrito. There's not much to say of Erewhon, everyone knows this as the "expensive grocery store" but I thought I would have at least gotten my moneys worth. To start off it's hectic in there, no right sense of direction and people crowd around while waiting for their orders. I ordered the gothic smoothie and it wasn't great, I originally knew it was running $20 before hand and was okay paying that price, but I wasn't okay with drinking the rest of it as it had a funky taste. This smoothie was definitely for the pics instead of the flavor. Next I got a lunch plate, I heard the Buffalo cauliflower and Mac n cheese were popular so I ordered those along with rotisserie chicken. Big mistake, the chicken was the most driest chicken I have ever had, don't recommend. Buffalo cauliflower was okay not spicy and mostly soggy. Mac n cheese might have been the best and that's saying a lot since it was so watery. This plate ran me around $25, again I knew the price was high which was okay for me at the time. 8/13/2025 First time at any Erewhon location. I came here on a Friday afternoon. It wasn't the largest location, but they still they had a lot of food options. As soon as you walk in the checkout counter was front and center. It was very clean and organized than other grocery stores such as Whole Foods or Sprouts Farmers Market. The grocery aisles were neatly compact and organized differently than most other grocery stores. I was impressed! Yes, the prices were higher, but there were items that I haven't seen in other grocery stores, so it was all very tempting to buy a full bag of items before leaving shop. They had a hot bar station, but you order at the front and they package your food for you. They had pizza as well. There was a self-serve soup bar. On the left, there was a coffee shop. Both the hot bar station and coffee shop were side by side, so everyone stood in line, which stretched out to the shopping area, so it was a bit disorganized. However, the food was well-presented and delicious. There were also a large selection of Erewhon's refrigerated and ready-to-eat items too. The fresh vegetable and fruit options weren't many though. The one thing I didn't love was the checkout counters. It's such a weird design. The checkout counters were in a circle at the entrance of the supermarket. They ask you to stand in line, yet there was no sign of where the line starts. There was a small maze err bookshelf of foods where you stand before you step into the checkout counter area. It was such an odd experience. I think they should start investing in self-checkout counters. If they're doing something new and different than other supermarkets, they should make even the checkout process seamless and easy. The staff seemed nice although oddly enough, they don't offer to help you unless you ask them. They all looked like they were keeping their head down and working without bothering shoppers. Bathroom was clean although there were only two stalls. However their sinks can be cleaner to match their super organized food aisles. Overall experience was good, but there is some left to be desired in customer service. And checkout counters can be changed up a bit without feeling stodgy. Back again, but this time we got to try a couple different items. My gf and I decide to do one of their plates. We got the mac n cheese, braised goat, and cauliflower. Everything supppppper tasty and rich, and we both kinda wish we had some rice with it. But for 50 buckaroos, it's kinda gnarly hahaha. we also got our favorite salad again, the white bean kale, always a hitter. As for the drink, we got a small smoothie, the super milk, and it was eh. tasted like soap imo. wouldn't recommend :/ read more

There's a nice variety of food here. I do like the broths and hot food items. I also come here to shop for health supplements and the girls working that section are very helpful and always making sure you are helped. However, the rest of the workers seem to have tunnel vision. I mentioned this to the cashier after he ask how I was doing and he said that it's common for the workers at that location to have lack of special vision. What the heck??!! Be prepared to bump into people there and have workers always in the way of your shopping. read more

First time going to any Erewhon location and this one in Pasadena was an easy walk down the street. We came during a time when it seemed like a local running club was hanging out at so the lines for the smoothies/drinks area was going all the way out the door. It was a blessing in disguise too because the cheapest drinks available was $10 (one drink which was the newest) and others went up to $20 for one smoothie. I was expecting the grocery shelf items to be equally expensive but some products were actually pretty reasonable. The prepared foods display was clean and organized well. They looked delicious and the hot foods display was also very appealing. We ended up buying a couple of protein shakes and I liked the simple ingredients listed on them. During checkout, staff asked if we were a "member" of Erewhon and we said no, and there wasn't any additional info given about how to get one so idk what the perks are to being one. Overall was a cool experience to visit a new store. read more

It's hard to describe the feeling that I feel when I shop at any Erewhon. So many questions like how.for instance , how organic is this baby kale? And why do we eat baby vegetables? How many employees does it take to consistently restock every self as soon as someone removes an item? Sounds good right. On this trip I got unlimited edition kombucha and some soap. I really didn't need anything at all but it looked good. This location is really one of the most mellow. read more
