I LOVE RALPH'S! I love it enough to write a Yelp review on a grocery store. My closest Ralph's closed and became a Ranch 99 (sadness) so now this Ralph's is my go-to grocery store. Why 5 stars? I feel like I can always find a good deal here. Their prices are consistently cheaper than Von's/Pavillion's for just about everything. They have excellent customer service. Sometimes I'm just standing in front of junk food mentally reasoning with myself that I in fact do NOT need that bag of chips and an employee will ask me if I need help with anything. This offering of help while I'm standing in front of junk food has happened more times than I'm willing to admit so let's just say their employees are friendly and helpful. Their checkout process has also been speedy 90% of the time. Sometimes I am unlucky and stand behind slowpokes but that's more a reflection of the customer than of the checker. Now, onto my tips about how to shop at Ralph's: 1. Get a Ralph's reward card. You get better prices (look at the weekly circular to see what's a good deal) and also earn fuel reward points which you can use at Shell gas stations. If you shop there as much as I do, 1-2xs a year they'll mail you customer appreciation store coupons for items you are likely to purchase. Once, I got a coupon for free bacon (I don't know how many times I bought bacon to qualify for this. Don't judge me!). 2. Download the Ralph's app on your smartphone and link it to your Ralph's reward card. You can browse coupons and other digital savings that will save you even more money. BONUS: They have Free Friday Downloads. Every Friday, they give a digital coupon for a free item that you can download and use the next time you shop (usually expires 2 weeks after download). Most recently, they've given away BBQ sauce and Snapple tea. FOR. FREE. 3. Like Ralph's on Facebook. I only recently discovered the perks of liking them on Facebook. They offer coupons such as $5 off $15 purchase of meat or $5 off $15 purchase of produce or $3 off $30 purchase total. These are just some recent examples but do you see how much you can save if you follow them on Facebook and are aware of these deals?! 4. Look out for Manager's Special prices on produce or meat that is about to reach its sell by date. When I know I am going to cook something the same day, I tend to look for these specials because it really helps save money. For example, I purchased almost 7 lbs of chicken breast halves for about $6 because I got it on the sell by date. Happy grocery shopping! read more

The employees at this Ralph's leave much to be desired. Offering the buy 6 mix and match on wine, the store only had 5 on the shelf. We asked them to honor the price for 5 since they didn't have 6 (nor any other bottles at the mix price) or for a check in storage for the last bottle. Attitude abounded from the clerk. She told us to ask her manager. She was asked to inquire of her own supervisor since we were the customer. She yelled to him and he responded the same way she did- sorry can't help you, find another bottle of something or no mix price. Lame. The attitude was far more offensive than the insistence to follow their rule. Won't be shopping at this Ralph's ever again. The attitude comes from the top... go elsewhere folks read more

They say a typical yelper may not feel inclined to review a place unless their experience was very negative or very positive, and boy are they right. This is typically my Ralph's for one or two items that the other locations do not stock often. Typically the produce seems fresher, but is also usually double the price of the produce in my normal Ralph's. Lately I've been on a salmon kick because the locations in my area have been getting some pretty good Alaskan sockeye. I find this Ralph's to be very inviting, the staff is more talkative and typically helpful. Other than that though, I don't particularly like to shop here as it seems this location has declined somewhat in the past 10 years. My only gripe with this week's shopping trip is that I came to this Ralph's specifically for the sockeye salmon because I knew my regular Ralph's would be out by the afternoon and this location stocks it more. I waited for about 15 minutes as the butcher walked right past me and went about his business in the back. Cutting meats? No. Preparing his lunch. After a good long while trying to get his attention he decides to come out and ask if I need help. Just a 2/3 lb. cut of sockeye salmon please. "We don't cut meat, sir." Really? With a fresh seafood counter and all that prep equipment in the back, you don't cut meat? This was my first visit to my first Ralph's with a butcher who refused to ...butcher. The fact that he was gripping his army camo lunch bag and fidgeting to get away from the counter didn't do a thing to improve my impression. As a restaurant cook, I understand the ire that comes with getting a last-minute customer, but I also understand the value of service and maintaining a professional reputation, so maybe it's just me, but it really burned me up to have to be on the receiving end of someone who was too lazy to serve one cut of fish because he just wanted to get out of there. I ended up visiting two more Ralph's locations to get that salmon I've been wanting all week. The manager of the Alhambra Ralph's on Main street was more than friendly and, what's more, he was more than helpful. The butcher was very quick and also helpful and informative. He took the sockeye back and cut up two half pound steaks for me immediately. And when I inquired about Ralph's business practices, he made me aware that all Ralph's locations have capable butchers who are paid not only to stock the meat section, but to cut their fresh meat to the customer's specification and that any butcher who claims he doesn't cut meat is unheard of in his experience at Ralph's. The manager went so far as to say I should have just come right to him in the first place as they always stock sockeye and the butcher is always there to help. In the end I guess this gripe is more about one lazy employee at the Ralph's on Huntington and Garfield rather than an indictment of the location as a whole. In my time here, it's been a rather friendly place to shop, but I guess I'll stay away from their meat section until I see a different butcher. read more

I like going to this store better than the one in Main St. I know you have to go around the corners and get through the traffic intersection of Huntington Drive, Atlantic Blvd and Garfield but I didn't mind because it's right next to TwoHeys and In N Out.. A plus me... You won't get any customer service here when you need to look for something.. I had to go around the whole store the first time to remember each aisle so next time I don't need to ask them for help... The store is much more organized and more selections than the Ralph's in Main St.... I love it when they have big discounts on Rib Eye or New York Steak.. I grab it right away.. read more

This is the closest location to me and my favorite Ralphs. I just wish it were open 24 hours. I walk over frequently to pick up one or two ingredients to complete a meal and to peruse the clearance area for cheap finds. I do not shop here for meat, cheese or seafood. I get those from TJs, Costco and F&E. I purchase fruits, veggies, bread (nice variety), ice cream, liquor (not wine), organic items, mixers & the odd paper product from this location. I have been assisted by the majority of the employees here. They seem all friendly, quick and knowledgeable. I had to return rotten pomegranates once and the asst manager on duty was helpful. It was a simple exchange for replacement fruit. Regardless of what time I go there, there seem to be ample checkers. The bathrooms are clean as is the overall store. read more

I ordered three bottles of Lysol disinfectant sprays on Ralphs app last week and the earliest time to be picked up is today but they called me that the items were not available. I asked them why as I ordered a week ago. They said they only pick my order on the same day of my pick up but they don't save inventory for me as they will let the early shoppers to buy first and will prep the order for me after the early shoppers. I am like why I have to order online so early and I have to pick the earliest time to pick up and they dont have the inventory. That is called Bullshit. I am unhappy about their unreasonable service. I have been shopping at Ralph's for over 25 years. They usually have everything we want and their prices are consistently the lowest for a supermarket chain even lower than TJs and Vons. Great produce and a good selection of meat. The store is always clean and with the self checkout you can quickly go through the line. read more

I hate this store. I come here because it's convenient, but don't expect anyone to help you. Nothing irks me more than the cashier asking me if i found everything okay, and when I reply that I didn't, I get an "I'm sorry" with no offer to help make things right. Further, their meat department sucks. Sure, I don't expect this place to be like Gelsons or Whole Foods, but I hate being lied to and told some of their meat is USDA Prime, when it's really USDA Select. That's like someone marketing a Lexus, but it's really a Scion. Oh yeah, and they close at 11pm. They're one of the only grocery stores in the area that closes super early, which, along with their difficult-to-enter parking lot, is a bane if you're getting off work late or frustrated because of the bad drivers that linger throughout San Gabriel Valley. read more

I've been coming to this Ralphs for 4 years - overall it's pretty good. However, I'm finally writing about Nancy, the slowest bagger ever. She holds up lines and doesn't even put items together in a way that makes sense. I don't know why she's still working there. I'd rather bag the items myself. I don't know about you but I love grocery shopping. It's not just the climate controlled environment, nor the hope that a beautiful young lady may be searching for the $1 special on Rice a Roni. Grocery shopping brings the tactical challenge a buying enough to survive yet trying to splurge on new tastes, new dishes. What I like about this location is the cleanliness of the location. It looks from the outside like a smaller sized store, but once I am inside, it is merchandised well and usually well stocked. Now when I go grocery shopping, there is usually a few items that run out of stock. They are the meat/chicken special and eggs. I have not run into that problem like I do at most Food 4 Less locations. Before shopping here, make sure you have a Ralphs club card and there are also coupons to be found on the Internet. I tend to gravitate toward super cheap grocery stores (e.g. Food4Less) but every once in awhile I'll get stuff from Gelson's or Albertson's. Ralph's is a good in-between store. Ralph's is better maintained than the typical super-cheap grocery places but their prices aren't as high as the formerly mentioned. Stores offer good service and appealing produce, including organics (limited). Their sales will often rival that of cheap-grocer's. read more

Celeste was the very nice young lady that just helped my friend and I out. She had a nice conversation with us about our meal prepping and she also helped us try to find a Mason jar. Unfortunately there was a rude customer after us that was impatient with her helping us but from what I heard, she handled the situation well. This Ralphs used to be one of the better ones out there...they need to step it up a notch and make a "Fresh Fare" Ralphs. We need more organic products! I love buying milk, eggs and bread here...the basics but they would capture my heart if they added the olive bar, wine fridge and organic produce. We live 3 blocks away. We could walk but we still drive here. This is our family favorite location. Since it was remodeled in the 90s. Yes we are that old and love Charles. He is the best. When we need to find something he would not only tell us where it is but walk with us over there to find it. Talk about great customer service! When I was pregnant with my 1st kid, he opened a cash register just so I would not have to wait. This was before self check out lanes. There are other Ralph's and grocery stores around but still we rather come to this store. read more

I give this place 5 stars simply because the great people that work there. Everyone there from the checkers to the box boys and girls are amazing. Particularly one gentleman named Charles. I believe he is a manager but I see him helping out in many departments. Regardless of his job he's one of the most authentic people you'll ever meet. He always treats everyone with so much respect and appreciation. I always go for his line if he is checking. They have a good variety of organic produce which is one of the main reasons I go there, although I'm not sure if they are non-GMO. This is the first time I've ever experience such service from Ralphs. I came yesterday, 03/27 Saturday, to Ralphs. My cashier was texting on her phone, doing everything quickly, no eye contact given nor a smile, and trying to sneak peach rings in her mouth while ringing me up. This was hard to watch knowing how nice the supervisors, and whatnot, usually are. Her name was Beatriz and she looks like she was 18 or something. I looked around and it looks like most cashiers were her age so it made sense why no one told her anything due to the fact that it's not really their place. I hope to never see this again. I hardly go to super market as I do not cook. Therefore, my expection is very low since I need very little. I stopped by this store after work last night to pick up few things. I was in the express line and got cashier-Sharon T. I think this lady is either having a bad day or has resting bitch face . As I was paying with my chip debit card, the machine is telling me "chip malfunction". I informed Sharon, she tells me "just read and follow direction". Wait, are you being condescending to me? I had to take deep breath few times so I don't tell her off. I informed her "yes I can read and this is what it is saying". She ignores me and continues to pack my items in a bag. As time went by, she hastly takes my card away from me as if I am stupid and unable to follow simple instruction. I saw her struggles with this machine/ task. In the meatime, she is huffing and puffing. Gosh, I can really see that she hates her job. I see excellent customer service from her. This express line took longer than the regular line. I think the next lane over had already serviced 3-4 people. I will not go to this store again. She is beyond rude and patronizing. The pro side to this place, they do have a very clean market. Parking was excellent. They do have lots of variety of food and fresh flowers/meat. The cons to this place, this market is in a busy street on Huntington, it was very difficult to get out from the lot and customer service could use some immediate help. my wife bought 1.68lbs, $11.74 worth of cooked spicy chicken wings, they were inedible. they were so tough and old. i know from working in the grocery business myself they have to rotate the food (first in first out) but damn throw them away if they are no good. tried calling the store but nobody answers the phone. the service deli is a joke. read more

My family and I park the car , grab a shopping cart and proceed to walk in the store, We immediately walked to the aisle with the hair, and body wash products because that's the one and only reason why We came there. As soon as we get on the aisle we immediately start getting watched, we have someone over the intercom screaming security to the front doors , officer Ramirez to the front , security aisle 15 please , security scan all aisles, security front door officer Ramirez aisle 15. So As We're walking down the aisle and grabbing what We need they're saying all of this over the intercom , my family and I are the only ones on the aisle, we have associates walking up and down the aisle and also there mystery shoppe following us as we proceed to shop. I've never felt so discriminated against and targeted in my life ! I am not from California! We just got off a flight and this is our very first and LAST time shopping at any of these establishments. That was the worst experience I have ever had in a supermarket. After i self checkout, I walked by a guy who seemed like a stuff in the store. He stood by the paper bag shelf and said " You just wanted to steal it right? That's easy." I stopped and asked:"what? Me?" But he just ignored me. I am pretty sure no one was near us. Cashier named Rosalinda--Bitch. No customer service skills whatsoever. Refuses to scan the manager specials sticker and then tells you there was NO sticker to begin with. She didn't even bother to check. You show her the sticker and she just scans it w/o an apology. Treats you like shit. No greeting, no smile, not even a thank you. It's not my fault you hate your job. This Ralphs needs to manage their employees better. Or hire more competent ones. I probably won't return to this Ralphs. This is my local Ralph Super Market! Very friendly staff with plenty of knowledge of where things are and what isle. I came here during the Thanksgiving frenzy and was looking everywhere for a turkey syringe for shooting up marinade. I should have just came here but decided to try other local markets before I go home and lo and behold, they had it...........!!!!!! The manager was very helpful with directing me to where this priceless injection syringe was and went over and beyond his duty and also mention to me this 2 in 1 Tony Chachere's Injectables Creole Style Butter Marinade. What I really loved about this product is that I got the syringe and the marinade for the same price as the single syringe. My first turkey dinner came out amazing!!!!!! So, I think! I absolutely LOVE their cakes and just like all their desserts. IT'S SO GOOD especially the oreo ice cream cake. The people here are nice and the neighborhood is very safe too. This Ralphs is alright. I don't like how they close earlier than the other Ralphs, but I guess that's a good thing because the other Ralphs on Main is closer to where I live anyway. The workers here aren't as friendly and the lines are slow as molasses, with workers just talking to each other most of the time. DO YOUR JOB. But it's okay, I guess for people who hate their job they should try to pass the time. The Ralphs is pretty small and I tend to not find what I want here, so I go to the other Ralphs. I was there this morning at 8:00am. At 8:29am, I went to the first register. Cashiers name is Dudley, he was helping a Caucasian woman and just kept taking his time and talking and talking forever. I had ice cream and other stuff with me so I was worried,. The woman and Dudley kept talking about how her son also works for Temple City Ralph's. He went on to help her bag her groceries and a bagger came and also helped her so together they bagged her groceries. After he rung me up, he left my groceries there and did not bag anything for me and the bag boy did not stop by either. He left me there and just walked away. I am so disgusted with this behavior. Was it because I am Asian? Why would he help the woman but not me? Is there a new policy I don't know about that we as Asians have to bag our own groceries? Great supermarket. Always clean with a good selection. But the deli... Why does the rotisserie chicken need to be so overdone ?? Love Ralphs market it's the only close to me now that the one in Alhambra closed. The cashiers are very nice and pleasant. I also find what I am looking for especially in the produce section. All those that were heart broken when the one in Alhambra closed come and support Ralphs in South Pasadena let's keep them in business. read more
