Love Ralphs market it's the only close to me now that the one in Alhambra closed. The cashiers are very nice and pleasant. I also find what I am looking for especially in the produce section. I was there this morning at 8:00am. At 8:29am, I went to the first register. Cashiers name is Dudley, he was helping a Caucasian woman and just kept taking his time and talking and talking forever. I had ice cream and other stuff with me so I was worried,. The woman and Dudley kept talking about how her son also works for Temple City Ralph's. He went on to help her bag her groceries and a bagger came and also helped her so together they bagged her groceries. After he rung me up, he left my groceries there and did not bag anything for me and the bag boy did not stop by either. He left me there and just walked away. I am so disgusted with this behavior. Was it because I am Asian? Why would he help the woman but not me? Is there a new policy I don't know about that we as Asians have to bag our own groceries? I am very disgusted and will never go to this Ralph's again and will not recommend to anyone. Shame on you Dudley! read more

This is one of the worst markets I have ever gone to! First, of all the manager or assistant manger, I don't know who he is , but ever time I go there he is extremely rude to me. With his attitude as it is I wouldn't believe would be a manager except every time I am going through his check out line he takes out a clip board and starts telling the other employees when their breaks are ..LOL,. Like he is trying to look like a big shot, so I am guessing he is some kind of assistant manager. But, is EXTREMELY rude to me to the point that he won't answer a question, pretends he doesn't hear me, and complains if I ask for double or light bagging. Go figure. I guess he has to toot his own horn...LOL Second,, I have bought rotten food there more than once, especially the meat. So, last time I smelled it before i left the parking lot , and it was Foster Farms chicken and smelled horrible, so I returned it on the spot, and they were going to put it back in the meat department shelf! They over water the produce, I saw the worker with a hose watering the letter like it was a lawn, anytime I have bought lettuce product there it is good for that that day, and wilts by the next day. The workers in the deli department run the other way when you ask them a question..LOL. The store obviously needs training in customer service and quality control. Someone can get food poisoning the way many of their foods aren't kept at the right temperatures, and I don't they know or care to take out the old foods, instead they put them on manger specials and people buy old rotten food to save money! I try not to go there unless I am going to buy something sealed in the manufacturer packaging, and then I always check the expiration date on it. read more

My review is only on the checkout experience. Since now there is the new law with the bags, why don't you train and teach your check out people or the baggers to ask if you want one or two bags. Or however many you think you may need. I got one bag and I don't mind paying for two it's not like they are expensive, it just gives me a rather irritated attitude when the bagger hands me a greasy sloppy bag of the ready to eat chicken that I am supposed to put into my car and have grease go all over my car. Everything but the eggs and the greasy chicken got bagged and I know it seems like a tiny little thing to be upset about but I would not have minded paying another $.10 for another goddamn bag. I can't believe I'm doing a review on Ralph's but this is my favorite one by far. It's nice that it is not in a strip mall with other businesses. The parking lot itself is nice with the building architecture and trees. It has a decent produce section along with a pharmacy. They also have a larger selection and overall a big store. read more

This is the Ralphs that I grew up on so I'm a little biased. If anything, it's just a reliable grocery store. Sure it's not the cheapest but it's always nice and clean and the lines are never too long. I've been coming here for so long that I basically memorized where everything is in this store. My local Ralphs! Always a great selection of most cooking ingredients I need. Tip: Always come here driving east from Huntington. Trying to access via the triangle (Huntington/Atlantic/Garfield) is a nightmare and even worst during peak hours. Parking is plentiful, but drive carefully. Some turns are at pretty strange angles. I'd advise parking further and take the walk. read more

Ok Ralphs I see you!! they're comin' up. I went in the other day and they had a sushi samples! I was like what!!! Then I took a look in the section and they now have SO much more types of sushi! There's so much variety. I think they recently hired more people to work on it? In the sushi area I saw many employees working on the sushi which I have not seen before. I was also very excited when they had what they called a "cream cheese roll" (basically a philadelphia roll?) because it is my fave and they also had a brown rice/white rice option as well as an option for it to be crispy or not. My friend got white rice and I got brown rice. They both tasted great. It was quality sushi. It just makes me so happy. Their workers in the sushi area also were very friendly. ~~~~ i wrote this review specifically for the sushi, but might as well throw in my normal experiences here. I live close and come here often. The service is good, cashiers are very nice and am always given smiles when I come in contact with a worker. I've made a few calls with some questions and the person I spoke to was very patient and answered all my questions about if they sold a specific item at the store, also taking the time to make sure they actually had it there. read more

Can have good deals, but double check your receipt before leaving. I have been charged incorrectly on items numerous times. After shopping at this Ralphs since it first opened in the 60s, and being increasingly dissatisfied with their choices and quality of product, I am THROUGH. The final straw was the bullying and arrogant behavior of a woman who may have been a "trainer" of a new checker. She was standing where a "bagger" would stand, but this market hasn't had baggers for a long time. The checker himself said nothing, but she made up for it. First of all, she asked me for my bags. I had learned a few months ago that during the pandemic we were NOT to bring our own bags to the market, but were to use their bags. I mentioned that I always use their bags and prefer it that way. She leaped to the attack. "Yes, you can bring your own bags. You have to PAAAAY for ours." Her tone of voice was assaultive. She went on and on about PAAAAAYING for the bags. "Fine. I always pay for them. How much would you like?" "10 cents". So I gave the checker a dime. This woman continued with her tirade and nasty remarks. .........She trains people well, to do one thing: shop at Pavilions! I refuse to be part of this pettiness. If this market needs "trainers", they have some excellent cashiers who could do the job, especially the man who wears the funny hats. He understands customer relations. read more

Transferred my drugs when i was shopping and it was done before i left. Kudos. Forgot the pharmacists name. He's a young skinny guy. He is one of the nicest pharmacists around here. read more

Ok so I just purchased wine from this location (yes not the best place to buy wine at but whatever). However when I go to try it out this week the wine is totally bad. Don't know what is wrong with it but I think when you see wine coming out of the bottle thick and cloudy..generally NOT good sign. Regardless, no biggie for me, went to return it.. however the store manager on hand today was definitely not in a good mood nor very hospitable. I asked that he check on the wine, its cloudy and bad as in ROTTEN or watever problem it had, not bad as in bad tasting!! I've had my fair share of nasty ass wine picks but shit I'll drink it anyways. But rotten wine (possible batch left out in the sun or some other issue), I think I'm due for a refund. I asked that he might want to check on that batch that Ralphs was selling at the moment just to be safe and that other consumers don't have to buy it then drive their asses back for a return. Or if they were stupid enough to drink the cloudy foul liquid, does Ralphs not take any concern of their store products that its customers consume? Liability issues? NOPE he didn't even acknowledge my concerns. In fact didn't even speak to me face to face and just had his staff create the store credit to get me out of there asap. I seriously hope this Ralphs takes a little better care in its quality and acknowledgment of its customers (especially the ones that live in ITS CITY)...On the flip side, the staff, cashiers etc are generally pretty helpful and courteous.. not so sure about their upper management. I come here all the time. I make my kids use the self serve area. Usually, they are so helpful. Sadly, today's woman with dark hair at 10am Sunday 1/8/17 was quite unpleasant. My whole family has worked at grocery stores. It's hard to always be upbeat. But she clearly is sourpuss like. Hope it was just today. So many of the other folks helping out with self serve checkout are so pleasant, nice, and assistive. She was just clearly unhappy and wanted to be as least pleasant as possible in order to prevent anyone from talking to her. So sad. read more

Horrible customer service, I needed help advertised special regarding, so I asked the first clerk I found, he told me go up front, since the person I charge of wine went home. So up front, I asked the lady that was standing close to door, smiling at customer for help, she basically told me to read the advertisement that was posted in the front of wine isle. When I went to check out I asked for store manager, the gentleman that was checking my items told me he was, after I told him my story, his response was "sorry Miss" in the tone of voice that indicated why are you bother me with this, you are noth worth my time. read more

On Aug 2nd, I went to use the restroom & can't believe the condition I found it in. If the Health Dept. had seen it, they surely would have closed this store down. When I notified management they plain didn't seem to care & even thought if was funny. There was a nice blonde haired employee who was always so helpful to me, whenever I asked a question---when I asked if she was working, I was told she no longer works here. I will never shop this store again---Trader Joe's has a new customer. I think a Upper Management visit is needed at this store sooner rather than later. read more

I literally just made a yelp account to complain about their baggers. I went to this Ralphs 5 minutes ago and the bagger ripped the handle off my paper bag, and then she handed me the bag as if nothing happened! I paid 10 cents for a paper bag; there was no one behind me and you could not spare the 10 seconds to put everything I had into another bag!? I would not recommend going to this Ralphs. read more

I've been shopping at this Ralph's since the store in Arcadia on Huntington Dr closed. This Ralph's is not well managed. Twice I rang the bell and waited for butcher but no service. There were 3 of us waiting, no butcher to be found. On another occasion I tried again, and after a 5 minute wait, a butcher finally appeared. I bought a large slab of salmon. I also bought packaged chicken thighs. I cut the salmon into smaller pieces when I got home and put it in the freezer. I defrosted one piece and there was a large worm that apparently crawled out of the salmon when it was freezing. It was 1/4 inch by 2 inches long. Huge. At first I thought it was freezer burn but it wasn't. Obviously, I threw the fish away. I decided to the cook the chicken instead and it was rancid when I opened the package. The sell by date was 8/16, I opened it on 8/13 - bought it on 8/11. I also tried to buy dry Chinese hot mustard and noticed the sell by date was 3 months earlier. It seems this Ralph's stocks old items. And the butcher puts out bad meat and fish. Heads up to other shoppers. I seldom write reviews but my experience is required reading for those who care about buying healthy products. Sorry Ralph's, I was a faithful customer but now I have to find a new grocery store. I can't get the image of that worm out of my mind. Eeekkkk!!!! read more
