I've been coming to this Aldi since the Altadena location was destroyed by the Eaton Fire. Compared to the Arcadia location, I actually find myself coming here more often due to its proximity to my home. It's also nice to see some of the Altadena employees working at this store. Parking can be a bit challenging at times. Although there is a large parking lot, it's shared with other businesses in the same strip mall, so spots can fill up quickly during busy hours. Overall, I can usually find what I need here, as the shelves are generally well stocked. read more

I like the food Aldi has, Wednesdays seem to be the restock day for this location otherwise it's a bit empty. I have no issue with the food or store. It's the majority of the employees that are not friendly. Barely greet you at the register, seems to have attitude (then don't work in customer service please because most of us come in with a positive attitude toward you), some have aggressively thrown my stuff in the cart after I did what I was supposed to and put my little box in the cart for them. Then when they do use the box they allow us to have, everything is rushed and thrown in there and before I can even grab my things they are rushing the next customers item into the cart with my items. It's happened a few times with middle age to younger employees. I attached a picture to show how my groceries were clearly thrown into the box. If the customer service was better it would make a huge difference in the experience in the store read more

If you are requiring a shopping cart bring a quarter to release them from the front area of the store. If you are looking for major big brands you most likely will not find it here. I know many people shop at Aldi, but this location feels a bit small. I wish it was larger with more variety. I purchased a 7 UP Cake from the bakery to share with coworkers, and it was quite tasty and very affordable. We also got some coconut macarons, and they were lovely. Aldi is our go to supermarket. Our last visit was on Sat, 12/28/2024 at around 2:00 PM and it was a positive experience. The store is relatively clean. They do not have an extensive produce or meat selection but their items are pretty fresh. They have frozen foods, dry items, drinks, etc. and is generally a pretty well stocked supermarket with decent prices. Parking: The store is located in a plaza with parking. We haven't really had any issues with parking! We usually do self-checkout so it's pretty efficient. Overall, pretty good experiences. We will be back! read more

let me start by saying that I love Aldi's. I've been shopping at Aldi's since they first came to Southern California. With the economy, the way it is and their great prices. I noticed that each time it's getting busier and busier. I do love their products. This store recently changed some of the product placement and now it is so congested as soon as you enter. today being a Sunday morning when it first opened was not an exception. It was hard to navigate the cart and people don't give you personal space. They use to have self check out and they have now removed that and the lines are long even at 9:30 in the morning. I did notice that a lot of the shelves were not organized well so early in the morning. They do not have a lot of staff so it looks like they didn't clean it up last night before they reopened today. It also doesn't help that local shoppers make a mess of the shelves. I will continue to shop here. I think I'll just have to avoid weekends. I wish they would open more and one closer to me in Monterey Park. read more

This is our local store. I've learned to stop by early for a better chance of leaving with all items on my list. I always bring my shopping bag and manage to for everything in it. if in ever forget I just pick up an empty box and fill it up. Picked up veggies and grassfed beef. Ok I really have been liking ALDI as of late. They have a decent array of well almost everything: fresh produce, sweets, meat, frozen section, canned items, spices and stuff for baking. I think I might like it more than grocery outlet if I'm being honest, their fresh produce is cheaper and isn't actually rotting. The staff and stockers are super nice; overall hey I really like it, there are more self-check out than there are cashiers though. read more

Stopped by this Aldi to get weekly supplies and fruit. The store is very clean and there are always great deals. Parking is plentiful and the lot is big. Great deal on fruits, cheese, and other produce items. Also very good selection of wine, except they didn't have the type of Wilson Creek I was looking for. This store was disappointing because it is extremely dirty and poorly stocked. There is trash all over the floor. The cashiers are very unfriendly. And there is a lot of empty spaces on the shelves. Went to Aldi's for the last time today. I've seen food pantries with better customer service. The kicker was, after the ridiculous quarter in the cart thing, when the person ringing us up flung our items into another cart that wasn't ours. When I showed her my bags and said I would put the groceries into them if she wouldn't, she told me to take the cart and my bags a few feet away and put the groceries in them over there. THAT IS THE PROCEDURE HERE. It's like corporations are so greedy, so desperate to squeeze every last penny out of you, that the person ringing you up can't even put your groceries INTO THE BAGS THAT YOU BROUGHT. That's how LOW they have sunk. No thank you. Trader Joes is actually cheaper, cleaner, more organized and friendlier. They bag my groceries -- imagine that!! They bag the groceries that they sell! If Nutella or a few other items are 10 cents more expensive at Target, Target it is. Never again. read more

Customer service needs a lot of improvement. The setup is disorganized, and the employees I saw were either stoned face or chitchatting with one another. At the checkout, a cart was parked next to the cashier so items were dumped into it after scanning. The customers were expected to deal with them after that. It was disappointing that even when I placed my tote bag in the cart so the cashier could place my items in it, she still dumped them in the cart outside / next to my open tote bag so that I had to bag them myself while trying to deal with paying. She didn't wait until I could bag all my paid items before scanning the items from the next customer and dumping them in the same cart. (Hint, hint... hurry up and bag your own stuff.) Love it here, the prices are affordable and they have really amazing items. A thing that could be tricky is that you need to put a quarter in order to get a cart; however, that's just a small thing. I like shopping here, cause it's more of a quick and go for me but not my usual grocery store. They are always so busy with very low cashiers. The worker works hard and tries their best I can see. What killed it for me is the vibe. It's depressing and the security can make you feel uncomfortable like hovering over you at the self-checkout which I understand he's doing his job. Probably my least favorite location of all the ALDI that I've been to. Parking is decent, so that was nice, especially during the mid morning rush. As some other Yelpers have mentioned, this location seems to have limited inventory (especially in comparison to the other ALDI that I frequent). I'm a slut for spooky stuff, so I had my hopes up that perhaps this location had some of the Halloween seasonal goods that others didn't have. Unfortunately not. They didn't even have a section for all the Halloween stuff together ! Everything was spread out in their food category sections, making it difficult to find anything. Additionally, I couldn't find any of the week's advertised goods on my run. I got a matcha latte (not good, don't get it), managed to get the Raven's Roast coffee (only because I didn't feel like picking it up at the other locations earlier), and the chipotle pumpkin pasta sauce (which was also at the other locations). Always have something new to try and consistent staples as well. Sometimes they also have limited inventory, but that's the nature of this type of store. Ok, so I've been going there since they opened, but refrained from writing a review until now. I wanted to see how consistent and reliable it is as a grocery store before I posted a review. And the verdict is that I LOVE ALDI! For the record, I know that Aldi is the parent company of Trader Joe's and that info alone might skew my perception of how much I love it. The pros: - Amazing everyday prices. - Amazing sales via their weekly ad. - Cute stuff and unique eats. - Free parking. - Pretty helpful and nice employees. The cons: - Runs out of amazing buys very quickly. - That weird 25 cent cart thingy from the 80's and 90's. - Limited selection of fresh produce. - Limited selection of specialty foods like gluten-free items. - Limited selection of everything. Okay, so for starters, they have amazing weekly deals like 59cent/lb chicken drumsticks (infrequent), 39 cent mangos, and 25 cent pineapples. Their garden salads are 99 cents everyday, the occasional $0.65 2lb bag of carrots, the occasional $0.79-$0.99 per dozen eggs, and their frozen tater tots, french fries, curly are $1.49 to $1.99 for 1.5 pounds (roughly 11 servings). Their large, premade pizzas retail at $5.99 and their calzones are $2.25+ each. These are STEALS! If you eat out at a restaurant, a small 4oz side of tater tots might set you back $3.50, brunch can set you back $15-20 per dish, and their pizzas are at least 65% cheaper than Pizza Hut or Domino's. But if you eat at home, you can eat like a king for a lot less thanks to Aldi. Their meats and frozen patties aren't too shabby either. They also sell these really cute homegoods and, sometimes, clothing merchandise that are quite nice, but also strangely out-of-place for a grocery store. Like, who is going to try on shoes at a grocery store? (People bought them!) And where is the fitting room for people to try the pjs or sweaters or leggings they sometimes carry? (People bought those, too!) At one point, I saw tents that could fit 6 people, outdoor grills, adorable floaties, and pet raincoats...so overtime, I just got used to seeing random things and enjoy the amount of stuff that I didn't know I would need or want. The not-so-great news is probably going to be very obvious the first time you shop here. The place is small, items are limited to a select few, and essential household items like paper towels, toilet paper, and cleaning supplies are quite limited. It is near impossible to purchase all that you may need at an Aldi's, which is kind of similar to the Trader Joe's experience. Another down side is the number of stuff they run out of when they have an epic sale like that 59 cent drumstick I mentioned earlier. They'll usually run out on the first day of the sale. Overall, I still love Aldi because they have some really nice finds. My personal favorites are their calzones because of how fluffy, delicious, and stuffed they are, the galactic and unicorn ice cream cones are adorable and not-too-sweet, and their kettle chips. Those kettle chips are unique and worth a try, especially since their flavors change over time! I tried the Cuban Sandwich flavor and the Nashville Hot Chicken flavor. (I prefer the Cuban Sandwich). At one point, I think they had a steak flavored one and others that I don't remember. They also carry some brand names like Starbucks, La Croix, Coca-Cola, Pepperidge Farm, White Castle, and etc. I can't recommend them enough, especially if you're a budget shopper like myself. The bread is stale I don't like the store. It seems generic to me it's a low budget store.

Bought a house brand ice tea from Aldi, and when i consume it in the parking lot, there's some sort of contaminant/growth/algae/moss inside the sealed bottle. It was shocking and made me felt ill. But what is more shocking was their response, which made me feel that the contaminant issue was not taken seriously. I went back immediately to show them the contaminant. The only response i got was a being offered a refund or take a new bottle. I don't want to take another bottle, i can't trust the entire batch since it was contaminated inside a sealed bottle. I ask to see the manager, with the hope that they will take down the entire batch, that way i won't have to be worried if next time i shop i would get the same batch. But they said there's no manager. I emailed Aldi regarding the issue, but the customer support just said sorry for the product, then immediately offered me $5 gift card. They don't address my complaint about how the store didn't take the contaminant issue seriously. Aldi didn't ensure me that the contamination is an isolated occurrence. Aldi didn't ensure me that it won't happen again. Aldi didn't even say that measures have been taken to investigate the contamination or even taking down the batch. The responses have made me no longer trust the quality of their house brand or Aldi in general. read more

While on vacation this past June in SoCal I spied an Aldi and told my husband we needed to stop. Anyone who knows me - knows I love to cook, bake and visit different grocery stores. My husband said to not get my hopes up as it's just an ok spot for groceries. The inside of Aldi's looks like a wannabe Costco, mixed in with a little Trader Joe's (not as awesome as Costco or TJs in reality). The store was clean and well organized. Limited selection of everything. Produce seemed overpriced. I was able to score a orchid for my great aunt. Customer service was friendly and fast. Apple Pay wasn't working but Samsung Pay was working. Good place for snacks. They have the basics- Dairy, Meat, Fresh produce, frozen items. This location's inventory seems limited. They are out of the fruits that they list on sale in the weekly ad. Their produce aisle don't have any plastic bags to carry fruits. Therefore, customers were just putting the bare fruits right into their shopping carts. Unfortunately, the shopping cart sanitizing wipes are out. Their refrigerators have milk and yogurt cartons still in the packaging so you have to reach deep to grab one since they don't automatically slide out. Theres never an employee in the aisles available to assist. The checkout lines are long (no self checkout) so they extend inconveniently into the aisles where there are shoppers walking around. read more

Up until just a few years ago, Aldi was kind of a foreign concept in Southern California, and I, for one, am glad that this awesome discount grocery chain has made its way to Alhambra. Located at a busy intersection on Main and Palm across from Target, Aldi occupies a spot in a smaller plaza with a Chipotle and a Chase Bank. The first thing you're likely to notice is that you'll need a quarter to borrow a cart. What?! As someone who rarely carries cash, this was a weird one for me. Keep quarters in your car specifically or Aldi trips or risk having to be limited to what you can carry with two hands! Inside, you'll find a grocery store that may give you Trader Joe's vibes, just a bit more "utilitarian." Think off-branded or house-branded items at discounted prices, all in a clean store that is logically organized. Great deals can be had from anything to fresh meats, veggies, milk, eggs, and all of your kitchen staples. Check out their weekly ad for even more savings each week! The checkout process here threw me off, and still does, on occasion. Don't expect the cashier to bag your groceries, and don't expect to take the cart at the end of the checkout lane. Bag your groceries quickly because the cart with your items in it will soon be filled with the items of the person behind you in line! It still kinda gives me just a tiny bit of anxiety when I can't pack my goods fast enough and the cashier starts putting the next customer's items in my cart, I have to admit! So overall... -The good: A clean store with low prices on all of your kitchen staples. -The bad: Even though you get your quarter back after you return your cart, it still annoys me sometimes that I have to give a quarter to use it. -The ugly: Did I mention the checkout line anxiety? My mom likes to come here after looking at the ads/circulars that come in the mail for their sale items in the miscellaneous section. Theres always a lot of interesting items to purchase. I like to browse through their snacks because there are some that you cant find elsewhere. I forgot the name but theres this hazelnut wafer thing they have tastes very similar to Hanuta that I had in Germany but with milk cream which makes it better. Their produce section has very competitive prices too. I like getting paprika and avocados here as well. Havent bought any meat or other frozen foods here before but seems like a lot of people get poultry and meat here at Aldi. To add, cashiers are very quick and kind. Plenty of parking available shared with other businesses in the plaza like Chipotle, Chase and Howard's. read more

ALDI, you are such a strange market. I felt like I had walked into a Big Lots/Walmart/Kohl's/Liquor Store hybrid type of place. Not sure how I felt about that. The selection is random and tiny. There aren't many options. For the neighborhood this is in, I'm surprised they're still in business. You have Albertson's down the street, Target, Sprouts, 99 Ranch, Smart & Final. The list goes on. That being said, you can buy cheaper vegetables and fruits at Sprouts typically on Wednesdays. Herbs like cilantro and parsley cents on the dollar at any Asian Supermarket. I bought frozen hash brown patties (like the ones they have at Trade Joe's) and Kern's brand Horchata. So random items basically. I've never been in a ALDI's before hence my visit. But it definitely was not a one-stop shop. read more
