I called to get an appointment for a haircut. The person who answered kept saying "hello?" A few times. After exchanging multiple hellos, I asked if this was Rama Hair Studio, and the person said "yeah." I was confused at first because I thought I got the wrong number since the person answering didn't just lead with a greeting ("hi, Rama hair studio..."). This person was booked up for the day. I had asked for a same day appointment, but I did not necessarily need one that day, I could have scheduled for any other available date. The person who answered said they would have their colleague, Kane, call me since they might have same day availability. Kane called me, I answered and after exchanging a hello, and Kane asking me if I had called earlier looking for an appointment, I said "yes I did". Kane responded with "are you ok? Ha ha ha ha ha." I did not bother returning a rude condescending attitude and instead thanked Kane for calling and that I found an appointment elsewhere. At the time, I didn't find another place, but I ended up going to Sassy Do's down the street. Shannon did my hair. She was very sweet and efficient which I appreciate. Worked through the colors with me. She, herself, is the only reason I give this place 3 stars. I was sat next to another stylist with a split dye who was working on two clients. Everything was fine until she and her client started getting into a conversation about movies that turned extremely homophobic. She and her client got into a conversation about how they don't understand why movies need to include reference to the LGBT community which then led to specifically discussing Trans people and them being represented in film somehow equates to them "being pushed on people." To say something like that is ignorant in and of itself, but when you have no idea who else is in the room in a business is so callous, incredibly unprofessional, uncomfortable, and was a total drain on my experience of trying to relax for a minute. Can anyone recommend a good salong/stylist/hair cut artist in this area? Still searching since i wont be going back here... Did a nice job but won't go back not even at the discounted rate of $30. Found they had a deal on groupon for first time client for about $30 vs normal price of $70ish. Stylist wasnt even sure how to cut my all 1 length hair had & no opinion of what might look best except to grow it out or buy $400+ extensions. Seriously? Wish I could've just left but i needed a trim badly even from a novice. Thankfully i brought a few pics but was told she'd do her best but likely wont look like that. Overall, groupon = worst/newest stylist(s). Maybe the ones getting paid full price "might" be better but I definitely wont be going back. I was looking for a new area stylist and would've happily paid their normal fee, but apparently everyone there couldnt see past the groupon rate and a potential future client. They are overcharging at $30 IN my opinion - they complained that my hair is too thick (shoulder length vs my usual low back much longer thicker hair) and 2 people did the lazy blow dry (no brush) complaing to each other about me. So classy. I've paid $150-250+ and it was worth it once i got over the price and actually i tried Fred Segal's (name has changed to something else now) ritzy salon in Santa Monica. The end result made me a believer and a client for 7 years. Ive been searching for a stylist in San Bernardino/high desert area for many years and have even drive 1.5 hr past san dimas each way only to be disappointed too often. Did u know Upland has the most salon per square mile in southern California and i still cant find a decent salon?!? Tip/WARNING - this salon charges extra for EVERYTHING including longer hair. My hair was barely 2 inches past my shoulders & i got a 1 inch trim with a very basic cut, but they still charged me an additional $10 for "longer length" fee which is ridiculous. Everything is a-la-carte like at a restaurant or buffet. stylist was obviously very very new but nice. read more

I've finally found the prefect hair stylist here! Everyone here is beyond beautiful and talented! I had an amazing experience! The environment has a positive vibe, very clean and professional! It's not a loud music club style environment either where the music is so loud, you can't hear each other. This is also a bring your kid friendly salon. My kids were able to have a seat and waited comfortably while I got my hair done. There is plenty of parking but some are marked green with limited time 30 min. Or 1 hour parking spaces, so be sure to avoid green parking spaces. You can also grab coffee, donuts, or stop by 7 Eleven before or after your appointment for you and your kiddos! :) Shannon is awesome! She is honest, doesn't over price, and will work with you to get the look you want. She is also patient, yet, she is professional. She totally knows what she is doing! I bought a Groupon for a haircut, style, and dye for a second time. No where on the Groupon says that the Groupon was for new customers only. This was my second Groupon used at Rama and first they stated that I couldn't use it because they honky honor it for new customers. The lady proceeded to tell me that they have told Groupon to change the terms and conditions but they haven't. Then they told me they would honor it this time but I couldn't do it again. Then my hair dresser comes back and says they will only honor the cut and dye after telling me they would honor the whole Groupon. I had to leave the salon with unstyled and wet hair. That's horrible customer service and it's not my fault that Groupon hasn't changed terms and conditions. I won't be back and dont recommend this place. read more

I am using my hubby account to post this: They are very unprofessional, I took the Keratin Treatment from them, .1st day she messed up with my hair. After my first hair wash (shampoo) my hair became curly and wave and went for the 2nd time within the same week. Again she did the same (she didn't do properly and not finished all the steps ) behavior was so rude and she did it again but was very pain full because she was pulling my hair intensely. I don't recommend this hair salon to anyone at all. I paid more than the normal price when I checked with another Salon. She doesn't have experience with hair cut at all. I asked them for a haircut (normal /simple style) which I already did a year ago from another salon (another city) but she said that not gone to suitable for my face. it was a joke to me.
