I've been to Caylah twice now as a birthday treat for my curls, and I can't recommend her enough! She truly does a phenomenal job. This was my first time going to a salon that specializes in curly hair, and I wish I had found her years ago. Before Curlfriends, I went to another stylist in Loma Linda who would literally have me in and out of her chair in five minutes--no wash, no styling, no product recommendations, no education. Just a quick dry cut, $45 later, and I was done. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed. When I searched for salons that specialize in curly cuts, Curlfriends came up, and I was immediately impressed with their website. They list all of their services clearly with prices (which I love--no "call for price" games) and give detailed bios about the staff and their expertise. They do require a $50 non-refundable deposit, but it goes toward your appointment total, and honestly, I think it's a brilliant idea. As a small business, they're dedicating up to two hours to focus just on you--they simply can't afford no-shows, and I respect that. From start to finish, Caylah makes the experience amazing. She's incredibly attentive, checking in with you as she goes, explaining products, and making sure you understand how to care for your curls at home. And let me tell you--the hair wash alone is heavenly. Don't be surprised if you drift off while she's massaging your scalp! My curls have never looked better--they're healthier, bouncier, and finally thriving. More importantly, Caylah has helped me fall in love with my curls. Growing up, I never knew how to manage my mixed-texture hair, and so many products out there actually strip curls like mine. Caylah not only understands curly hair, but she also lives it. She has a similar hair texture to mine, and it makes such a difference having someone who truly "gets it" care for your curls. I'm so thankful I found Curlfriends, and especially Caylah. I had a really great experience. I felt like I was genuinely getting my moneys worth. The service was fantastic and every minute of it was productive and educational. No time was wasted here. My stylist Was Caylah and she took her time and gave me some great tips and advice. It was a bit pricey but unfortunately when demand is high so will prices. Small locations like this need to grow some how. Only 3 stylist so they book up pretty quick and Do NOT take walk ins. Clean and good atmosphere. . I wish it was a bit more affordable but also I wouldn't mind paying this again. I got the cut wash and style. It's located right next to a Sally's beauty so I was able to run over and get recommendations. Overall great experience and I will definitely return. read more

I had not cut my hair in over a year because I've been busy and I wanted to get it cut by a curly hair stylist but one was not close by. I knew I was past due for a curly haircut and used Yelp to find one and Curlfriends appeared! I was so elated to learn they were in Rancho Cucamonga since I'm there all the time. I visited their website, selected Shermeeka as my stylist and paid a deposit for my appointment. The earliest appointment with her was about a month out so I had to wait in agony to get my haircut. I ran into some bad traffic on the way to my appointment and messaged her via Instagram and she was understanding, but did let me know she might not have time to dry my hair because she had another appointment which I was fine with. I was a bit stressed when I arrived because of the awful drive, but once I was there and in the chair and she started to go over my hair goals I started to calm down a bit. I arrived with washed hair with the slightest amount of hair cream in it and air dried and it looked like I had no curls what so ever. Once she cut it and shampooed and conditioned it I had all these new, healthy, curls that were alive again. It didn't take long for my hair to dry and I was ready to go in about an hour (I have fine/thin hair and it was cut short). I love that she showed me the products that she used on my hair and encouraged me to take photos so I wouldn't forget. She also sold one of the products in store, the Mizani hair cream. I will say I thought I could just run out and pick that up at the nearest Sephora, but no, it's sold out everywhere and the closest location I found that carried it was deep in L.A. somewhere. She also used the Doux hair mousse which I would always see at Marshall's/T.J. Maxx but was scared to try because I never heard of the brand before, but now I'm buying up ALL the DOUX products after this visit! I was told I didn't need to use gel in my hair and have been going that route since. This haircut was so needed and I'm grateful I was in great hands here at Curl Friends Salon! They are located closer to the 210 freeway off of Baseline and Carnelian in the shopping center adjacent to Alta Loma High School (my alma mater)! read more

Be aware of this place. I booked an appointment to have my daughter's highlights touched up. A $30.00 deposit was required which I understand. I got a text yesterday from Breana telling me she does not do the highlights that only Meeka does them and is completely booked. My daughter was only home for a few days from college and can't reschedule . So of course I ask for my deposit back since I can't get the service I thought I was paying for. She offered me a cut & style instead. I told her my daughter does not need a cut & style. She wanted her roots touched up. I can understand if I had to cancel my appointment to not give me my deposit back, but that's not the case they canceled on me. Very bad business. The stylist, Caylah, had an Instagram with her portfolio available which made me feel much more comfortable since I'd never worked with her before. I came to a Curlfriends after a long journey with my natural hair. I was scared for my cut because of negative experiences in other salons that didn't know how to cut curly hair. The salon is located within a "plaza" of other salon/beauty care businesses. It was very easy to find. The salon is clean, beautiful, and warm. When I met with Ms. Meeks for my appointment, she guided me through everything. She took the time to understand what I wanted from my appointment, even though I didn't even know. She educated me on the process of natural hair care and then showed me how to maintain it. I thoroughly appreciated the honesty and the care that I received from Ms. Meeka provided. She is a valuable community asset so she is very well booked. She reminded me to schedule my trim in April since there is a 2 month wait time. This is a personal salon with just Ms. Meeka. Is intimate. The website to access appointments is easy to use. The prices are comparable to other salons in the area.
