I had the mushroom chicken entree. It was fresh and tasty. The ambiance of the pub is a little on the dark side, but it is perfect for date night and/or a night out with friends to catch a game or two. I will definitely return to this pub. read more

I got the salad with goat cheese and my husband got the Guinness burger, both were amazing and the portions were huge. We both got a couple of drinks and the prices were reasonable for the quality ($6ish dollars for a pint of craft brew and $4 for wells). Ok, I'll admit it! I was a little nervous going to an Irish pub on a Saturday night all by my lonesome, but after the inital "are you sure you want Irish & not Soul food stare from the purple haired lady sitting at the bar... My apprehension melted away once I saw the beer flowing. The wait staff was very friendly, the food quite good ( I had the chicken sandwich w/ fries my firstvtime there) & the band was nice. Since then I've been here several times for lunch. I'm never disappointed (though the sheppard's pie was so-so) with the food or service. The bartender always remembers that I like my blue moon with a shot of OJ. Definitely a place to visit... Be warned Saturday nights can be quite loud there. read more

Fun place, good food, however my boyfriend was there twice and got food poisoning both times. Second time he went with his best friend down the road for lunch, bonded with other guys who also had similar experience, shared some laughs, they all ended up sleeping on the toilet. If you're looking to throw an event, whatever the celebration, I highly suggest having it at The Rambling House! I recently celebrated my birthday/engagement here, and I couldn't have asked for more. Tara was amazing and an absolute pleasure to work with. She answered all my questions and concerns and always made me feel at ease. We were a pretty large group of people and not only were they extremely accommodating, but also very generous. The space they gave us was roomy and allowed for all our guests to mingle freely. Every single one of them were so happy with the overall vibe and service of the establishment. This isn't your typical run of the mill pub, it's more than that. The Rambling House is a great neighborhood bar/restaurant that you just can't beat! The food is really good for the money. Where else can you go and get a great tasting steak sandwich and beers for under $20! The bar is filled with excitement, and it really makes a great night out. On top of having a great time, the place is very clean. The staff is very attentive, and you never have to wait for anything, including water, drinks or irish soda bread. The bus boys work very hard, and it is nice to see the owner hiring intelligent employees. Would recommend this local place to any outer towner! read more

Been coming to this place for a little while now n some day's are better then others. Love their mozzarella sticks, they're awesome!!! And the shepherd's pie is pretty good too, I like it with cheese on top. The service is a little slow at times depending on the server at the moment. Their drafts are pretty good love me some blue point toasted lager n it's always on draft. Haven't try all the food here beside the basic bar food and appetizers but pretty chill spot. This the worst for food. They a scampi. It a lump of pasta in center of plate and four shrimp on top for $18.00. That is lot for pasta with nothing on it. I fish and chips I got the fish completely black and fries over cooked. I sent the fish back and few minutes later same one. The way they treat people is a shame. I wounded why was very few people for Father's Day. 90 percent are students including the person cooking the food. When you have the standing at front door chatting up the the lady's. A bunch of students running around. It looks is run a cheap place. These people don't know scampi is they should to good place they would find out. read more

Awful. I ordered the avocado app and veggie curry with rice. The blue pint. I was told the keg had to be changed. Thats what took so long for my pint. The pint was flat. Yucky! The app was cold and stale. The veggie curry was frozen veggies not even mixed together. The rice was hard. The place was dirty and not even busy. The service was slow and poor. read more

Great bar seen in the heart of Woodlawn. The food is satisfactory but the vibrant bar seen is worth the visit. They do trivia night and karaoke night and it's fun to sit outside on a warm night, having a drink with friends. read more

It's a great place to go if you feel like being harassed and bullied by bouncers, like I did. I was minding my own business when all of a sudden, I was thrown out by bouncers because why.. The bartender had told them that I was trying to steal tips from the bar. The reality was that the money I grabbed was MY change. But they didn't care, they proceeded to eject me from the bar and would not let me plead my case, in addition, I was not allowed to go back in and tell my fiancé to come out with me. She had no idea I was ejected and she couldn't find me. It was a humiliating experience and ever since then I have vowed never to step foot in there again. This was on New Years, by the way. Just a horrible place and horrible way to be treated. They should be ashamed of themselves! read more

Very disappointed with the Rambling House over the last few years. The owner is very nice and a few of the staff are as well, however I find most of the staff very rude. They could do more gluten free options, but I understand it's difficult to guarantee in a shared kitchen. However I don't think I should be made to feel like I am bothering the server when I ask simple questions like if something on the menu has gluten in it. My issue today is with one particular sever, she has served me before and been rude but today I called at around 3pm asking prices for a BBQ special they were offering she told me the price and said it wasn't available until 5:30. Happy with the price I hung up and decided to call at 5 to put an order in, the same sever answered and told me they only had pulled pork no more ribs. We were looking forward to the ribs so we said forget it. Why couldn't she tell me at 3 I might want to put an order in? If I had put the order in at 3 they would probably have had the ribs. Very disappointed and I will no longer be eating there. read more

A colleague of mine rants about this place! Had to test it out for myself. It's a large, upscale Irish sports bar that definitely lives up to its hype. On Saturday night, there was a cover band that entertained us and had the crowd up and dancing. Had the burger and it was pretty standard. The fries were crispy like Burger's Kings and the oil wasn't sitting there for days. Only had beers here so can't speak too much about their cocktails. Wish there was a Rambling House in my neighborhood! read more

For those who wouldn't think they'd go to "da Bronx" for a bar, this isn't anything like the south Bronx, it's in a very Irish section of the northern part of the Bronx called Woodlawn, it's a really nice part that's practically in Yonkers. The street Rambling House is on also has 3 or 4 other Irish pubs within the immediate area in case you wanted to go bar hoping. You probably won't want to go bar hoping though because Rambling House is all you'll need (unless you're looking for a cozy dive). It's a massive place that's very clean, affordable, with a great menu, and decent bartenders. They also have a couple dart boards and occasional live bands. For those who just want to come for their food you can even go to the separated section for just dining. I wouldn't ever travel from Brooklyn to Woodlawn for this bar but I'll be glad next time I'm in the area and can get there for a repeat visit. read more

The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly but the service needs serious improvement...after almost 20 min i had to flag a waitress to get a drink , which was a waste of money because there was barely any alcohol in it even though i paid for it ...the food was ojay, hot when served so that was a plus, especially after waiting an hour to be served..i changed uo my drink to a double in hopes of it making a difference...it did not and to top it off, it wasnt what i ordered! Then i had to waite another half hour to get the check!! Maybe i shoukd have ordered it to go? Come here for a few drinks and the atmosphere, don't expect great service. Not quite sure what has happened to the food and service; both used to be good. Won't be eating here again that's for sure. We waited fifteen minutes for our waitress to show up to the table and another ten to get our drinks. Friends showed up after that and fifteen minutes passed before she came back to take their drink orders, so of course they went to the bar. She copped an attitude and I said to her "Well, they got here fifteen minutes ago." I worked in the service industry for nearly 8 years, I know how this works. You want a larger bill, and hence a larger tip, you take care of your tables. That means clearing them as well, not waiting for the busboys to do all the work. At one point we had close to twenty empty glasses on the table (we're lushes!). My boyfriend's food had to be sent back as it was inedible, and she questioned what was wrong with it. We should have asked for the manager, but we're locals and didn't want to make a fuss. Think I'll stick to the bar from now on... read more

Rambling House is my local watering hole.. On a street of MANY Irish pubs, Rambling is my favorite. Great drinks, good food, lots of TVs for watching the game! Staff is friendly, establishment is clean and prices are good. Lots of live music on weekends, and drink specials during games! The menu is a mix if usual pub food (burgers, etc) and Irish favorites (Irish breakfast, chicken curry, etc). 27 beers on tap, a good bottle selection and plenty of wines and liquor! My go to is a burger and Magners. Fun place!! read more
