I love ramen noodle! I have recently came back from Columbus OH where I found this authentic ramen restaurant. Their black garlic oil addition and their well prepared broth make their ramen the best I've had so far. So when I found out this restaurant with an option to add black garlic oil, I just had to give it a try. I ordered the spicy ramen in miso broth and black garlic oil. The ramen noodle was cooked perfectly al dente. It is very important to me :) I think I actually prefer their heavier texture ramen noodle than the one in Columbus. We took it to go and ate the ramen at the nearby park. The noodle and broth temperature were still perfect. However, I found the black garlic oil very weak. I can barely detect the flavor. So I guess the ramen restaurant in Columbus OH still wins my top ramen ranking! My bowl came with one slice of tender charshiu (some part was fatty but I could handle it), spicy ground meat and a slice of seaweed. The ground meat was a nice touch but again it wasn't spicy. My husband had tamago mayo tamen in shoyu broth. His bowl came with 3 slices of charshiu, a slice of seaweed and one soft boiled egg. I think I prefer miso broth as it had a deeper flavor than saltiness. We didn't supersize the bowl as it was the first time dining there. The regular size actually came with a decent size ramen. I was so full after eating the bowl. We may try to upgrade to large next time. We were both very satisfied with their pricing as well. Their servers were very friendly. The service was fast. I bet both ramen were prepared under 5 minutes. I highly recommend this restaurant and will go back again when we are in the area. Oishii! This little ramen shop is right next to Uwajimaya. Their turnaround is really quick, so don't worry when the line is long when you get there. I had a delicious large shoyu deluxe ryoma ramen. The base is saltier than the tonkotsu broth I'm used to, but still very good. The chashu was really tender. This restaurant is in the uwajimaya store building but does not have an entrance from inside the store. You can tailor the type, size and ingredients in your ramen bowl to suit your appetite, taste, and pocketbook. Supersize it for extra $s, or add more toppings too. So a ramen bowl can run $8 to $15 depending on how you like it. The broth is very good though fairly standard. The star of the dish is the firm chewy noodles. Staff are very respectful and friendly. It's a small shop so you'll likely have to wait but Uwajimaya is right next door so you can do some shopping while you wait! Service is friendly and great and the food came out hot and fresh. I was in the longest line at 85F bakery, when a thought hit me: why wait in this ridiculous line when I can eat some ramen instead! Was that random? Yes it totally was, but it was brilliant and I was glad I did! I was there around 3pm, and there was no line when I got there. My partner ordered the spicy Unami ramen with miso broth which was very delicious. Unable to make any sort of definitive food decision, I asked the server to surprise me on the broth. She brought out the shio ramen, which was great because I had never tried that before. For it translating to "sea salt ramen" it was not too salty and I really enjoyed it. Broth stop with draft Sapporo pouring 12-16-34 oz that rounded out a very good lunch stop. Discovered RR after replenishing our miso, sushi, and beer supplies next door at Uwijimaya, which was also on a whim after visiting the eye doctor at Kaiser clinic behind the store. You can see the doorway inside the store but access is only from outside, to the right of the grocery store. Had just eyed the downtown location for our Next Up restaurants actually, but got a great sneak peak slurping through my ramen at the Beaverton location. dTown has a more extensive menu with takoyaki, torisenbei, karaage chix (2-5-8 pcs esp nice when you just want to try something new, or solo with size just for you) and an extensive Sake menu to whet your appetite. So how about that ramen? Well we both opted for the house-made miso for our soup base (or shoyu and shio). Hubby loved it, me not so much as it had an unexpected slight spicy heat and a bit of a tang much like the numbing szechuan peppercorn, not my fave with ramen have to say. I'd try the shoyu next time as even though I like heat, my tummy no likey. Chashu was medium fatty about 2 pcs, mine with buttered corn $11.50 and his with egg Tamago $12. Promptly seated in a wooden booth which was very comfortable actually.
