For the past few years this has been the go-to place for my family. This last week was probably my last time going, so I thought it was about time that I wrote a review. My two little girls LOVE the dumplings and cucumber salad (I'm also obsessed with the cucumber salad). I do baby led weaning for my baby and the scallion pancake and the filling for a soup dumpling are absolute winners. I highly recommend buying toddler training chopsticks and bringing them with you (they also have "training chopsticks" if you ask, but I like the little ones). I also recommend using the waitlist option to avoid a long wait. Unfortunately it's probably our last time going because my daughter is most likely being diagnosed with celiac soon and there's basically nothing on the menu that is gluten free. Honestly this is probably the restaurant we're saddest about losing. If you are lucky and can properly digest gluten, I highly recommend visiting. I also wanted to add that I have a severe shellfish allergy. They have an excellent allergen procedure and I've never had any issues. read more

We ordered six dishes in one sitting, and I actually think the smaller portions are a plus. You get to try a little bit of everything without feeling too full or spending too much. Our least favorite was the beef pancake roll, but everything else was really good. With so many dishes to choose from, this place definitely deserves a comeback. read more

Overall 7/10. Good service. We went there because we were celebrating a birthday with a day of shopping and eats. We popped in for lunch. We got three dishes: chili wontons (7/10). Lacking flavor. Small portion; xlb (8/10) lacking flavor. But bonus points for actually having soup in the dumplings. It's been a while since we've had that. For some reason at a lot of other restaurants they break and the liquid is no longer part of the experience; salad with romaine and sesame dressing. This is the plainest salad I've ever had but the dressing and fresh crunchy lettuce was amazing. I could probably kill one of those myself next time and just get a small side. 9/10. My only knock is I paid with a gift card and selected a printed receipt and it never came. I hate that I can't even go to my credit card and screen shot the transaction because it was also a business meeting and could have written off the expense. Kind of a bummer. But overall good experience. Bathrooms were fairly clean as far as public bathrooms go. Single stall. I'd go back for the salad. read more

The staff were nice enough, but clearly worn out and disorganized, and the food quality was very uneven, making me suspect that the kitchen was equally tired. It was my first time dining in. I went to get take out before but this time since I dined in, I was able try their dumplings as fresh as possible. Environment: spacious and lots of seats. Staff: attentive and checked in with us many times. Food: 1. pork XLB for $9.95. Thought it was nice and piping hot and the wrap was thin enough. There was a lot of juice and soup inside but the texture of the meat itself was on the mushy side. 2. Chicken and vegetable wonton in chicken soup for $7.90. This was lighter in flavor but again, the meat inside had a mushy texture. 3. I forgot the actual name but I got pan fried wonton. I learned that wonton shouldn't be pan fried because the top parts were so hard, not crispy but chewy and hard to eat. Same thing, the meat inside was mushy. Maybe they're just mushy in general but the other kinds of dumplings I've had at other places had a more bouncy consistency, a texture that I like a lot more. At least I tried this place! read more

Loved the ambience here. We went on a weekday and it was still pretty busy, but the wait was only about 25 minutes, which wasn't bad at all. We ordered the special egg fried rice and enjoyed it, simple and flavorful, though the portion is on the smaller side. The chicken soup dumplings were my favorite; they had a great bite with a delicious burst of soup inside. The Chinese crepe was also very tasty with great texture and flavor. My sister ordered the beef sandwich and Dan Dan noodles, but those weren't her favorites as both were quite salty, and the Dan Dan noodles had a very unique taste. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely come back to try more items on the menu, especially the soup dumplings! read more

Do not make the same mistake I did. I went solo and everything sounded so good that I ordered too much food. The portion sizes are definitely meant to be shared or at least eaten more sparingly. I think my favorite item was the spicy beef pancake, which was like a burrito but with scallion pancake for a tortilla. And the sour plum juice. I could drink by the gallon. I love letting friends pick restaurants! I get led to their favorite spots which have delicious food and, in this case, are practically crawling distance from my house! It was a Tuesday but still, dinnertime and this was busy enough showing that they are popular but not crowded to where you feel like you are eating with the other tables. I love the space itself where the tables are not up against each other. I have a tissue disorder so dining in places which cram in their customers can be an issue for me. This was so nice and wow on customer service where they were there when you needed a thing yet not hounding you. I tried the green onion pancake, pan fried pork buns and the chicken potstickers which were all delicious. I came here to celebrate Mother's Day with my wife and little daughter who were very hungry upon arriving at 5pm. We even got Costco gift cards to celebrate the occasion and get the most bang for our buck. I don't mind the wait however upon waiting all I saw were a lot of empty tables that weren't bussed yet. I understand a rush but the same time there's a lot of hungry people, especially on Mother's Day. Ok, so we are HUGE fans of Din Tai Fung but it's not necessarily budget friendly or time friendly due to the long waits so we don't go that often. We found Dough Zone and hello flavor and service! The xiaolongbao and buns did not disappoint and the cucumber salad was like a work of art in its serpentine configuration. For the money and honestly the relaxed environment, the value was top notch but the service was next level. Joe greeted us like we were old friends and curated our experience like we were his relatives. He exemplified the standard of customer service that is sorely needed in every restaurant. We made a reservation early in the week for a table for eight on Saturday night, and we're glad we did. This place was hopping, and it was our first time in. Lots of people waiting to be seated. We ordered a huge assortment of entrees, rice and dumplings.........both steamed and pan fried. Everything was delicious. Our server Anne was super helpful, and checked on us throughout the service. The food was super quick out of the kitchen. As soon as a menu item was ready, it was brought out to the table. The pace was nice since there were so many at our table eating. The only suggestion would be some crayons and paper for young children. The three year old at our table could've benefited from that extra touch. We will be back! Good casual lunch spot I've been meaning to try this place out for awhile, but my pregnancy hormones were crazy in first trimester so I had to wait until now. I came here for the soup dumplings. This place seems similar to Din Tai Fung. We came here for lunch on a Saturday and it seemed like a good flow of people coming in. We signed in on their waitlist kiosk (they use Yelp) and waited about the given estimated time of 12-ish minutes to be seated. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The interior is nice, bright and casual. Service is very efficient and friendly. We ordered: Pan fried ground beef cakes Chicken soup dumplings (2 orders) Pork buns Chicken pot stickers Side of kale Here are my opinions and observations based on my pregnancy hormones: Beef cakes-- 4 on a plate, it's somewhere between a dumpling and a pot sticker and a bit heavier than both as a dish. Chicken soup dumplings-- 8 on a plate, tasted good with the vinegar and soy sauce dip. You can easily eat many of these. Order 2 orders for 2-3 adults if you order other dishes. This doesn't have a whole lot of onions/herbs like other places, which is fine, but it still tastes good and satisfies my craving. Pork buns-- 4 on a plate, less dough and smaller in size compared to Din Tai Fung, which is fine with me! We ordered other dishes, so I felt like I had more room to eat other things instead of committing to eating a big bun. Other places will have more dough and a small ball of meat, which fills you up quickly. I personally prefer having 4 buns instead of 2 too. Chicken pot stickers-- presentation was interesting because it looked like it was upside down, but it wasn't! My kid loved the pot stickers the most. They're crispy and taste good to me. I think this is a popular dish here. Kale side-- I was all about this. It is soaked in this delicious sesame sauce that kept me wanting more. My husband liked it, but he didn't like it as much as me. I'm thankful they offer this on their vegetable portion of the menu. I would have liked to see a little bit more for their vegetable menu, like bok choy or green beans. I saw them advertising vegetarian options coming soon (or maybe it's available already by now). They also have noodles and teas! We didn't order any items from those portions of the menu because they would fill us up quickly when we wanted to enjoy some dumplings. Overall, I think the food is good and the prices are great! Service was quick and minimal interaction between the waiter. This place is casual and a good alternative to Din Tai Fung. We plan to come back and try other dishes with my mom. i was super disappointed with my first meal here. i ordered spicy chili pork wontons and spicy chili chicken wontons--usually my favorite dim sum items. the outer noodle of the wontons seemed undercooked, and the inner filling in the wontons was a gross mushy texture. i couldn't even visually make sure the filling was cooked through since it was mush. my partner ordered dan dan noodles that were overcooked and also mushy. the only edible parts of this meal were the sides of kale salad and green onion pancake. i cannot believe we paid $62 for this experience. if you're familiar with dumplings and what they should taste like, you will leave sad and hungry if you try eat here. read more

ZERO STARS if I could... We went here again on 3/14/2026. We had out of town visitors who wanted to go there. This time we got take out. The service was cheery enough and our order was ready on time but when we got home & started to eat, we quickly discovered that about 1/3 of the items were RAW...absolutely inedible. YUCK! This could only happen if the dumplings we ordered got tossed into the cooking vessel while still frozen... Did I mention the prices have gone up too? Do yourself a favor and to go the newly-reopened Taste of Sichuan. Frankly, for dumplings, the prices are about the same but the quality and taste at Sichuan are light years better than ANYTHING on the menu at these poseurs. read more

We tried Dough Zone for the first time today for a late lunch. I've seen the menu on DoorDash and the reviews of it and suggested we try. It was around 2:30 when we arrived and it was quite busy inside and out, which we always like to see. Always good for places to have steady business. Service was good, our waitress was very friendly and helpful. For the food - we got pork Xiao Long Bao, romaine with spicy dressing, spicy beef sandwich and pancake roll, and spicy wontons, and beef potstickers. All in all, some items were very good and some not our favorite. My best advice if you love Din Tai Fung, don't go in looking to compare. It is much less expensive than Din Tai Fung, and has a lot more variety on the menu. In hindsight we would have ordered some of the more recommended items such as the Dan Dan Noodles. The good: Xiao Long Bao - different texture and flavor than a lot I've had but still very good and lots of soup. Romaine with spicy garlic dressing - simple, and exactly what it says and it was one of our favorite things. Spicy wontons - really good, really tiny - like maybe nickel sized, so you don't get a lot for the money but they did taste great. Not as much: I think we didn't like the beef - probably a lot of people do because a lot of beef items are on their "specialty section." So it's probably just more our personal preference. The spicy beef pancake and sandwich had this beef - neither were spicy (in fact they had not too much flavor in them) and both were super greasy. Also, the beef potstickers - again the beef and super greasy. We realized we've never really seen beef potstickers and are pretty sure we know why now. All said, nice place, obviously very popular and glad we tried it out. If we end up going back, I think we will just stick to chicken and pork, but that's just our personal preference! read more

Compared to DTF the quality, taste and value here is GREAT! Ambience is a step down but we found all the items here rock. The feature Xiao Long Bao is a bit more doughy and meaty and FAR cheaper than DTF and so much better value at 50% cheaper It's called Dough Zone and they keep to their name! I am truly disappointed in our most recent vist to Dough Zone. We first experienced this place up in Seattle. It was great and when we learned one was opening in our neighborhood we were so excited. We had been here a couple of times and I always thought the food was just fine. But last night was a very different experience. We were sat in the worst seat in the house, closest to the kitchen door. We ordered dan dan noodles, beef roll, pork xlb, pork & shrimp dumplings (boiled), and onion pancake. My wife wanted the sour plum drink, but our server told us all that was available were the passionfruit tea, milk tea, and Thai milk tea. So she ordered the passionfruit tea and it was sickly sweet. I mixed half a glass of water in it to make it drinkable for her. I ended up with ube milk tea because they were actually out of the Thai milk tea? The ube was not great and it had a sour aftertaste. The dan dan noodles came out first and they were incredibly salty. I accidentally poured a bunch of vinegar on it and that surprisingly seemed to balance the saltiness. Probably the worst offense was that they seemed to forget about our boiled dumplings order. Our server asked if we wanted to order anything else and we said we were still waiting on those dumplings. She said she would look into it. So we know they were forgotten because it was another 10 minutes before they came out. I was ready to go. My stomach had settled and I probably should've asked to have them taken off the bill instead. We'll probably be back in a couple of months because my wife likes this place. Her tastebuds are not as sharp as mine and she has fond memories of this location. But I think I rather make that 2.5hr trip to Seattle over the 8 minute drive back to this place. read more

We recently came here on a day that they did not have enough staff to seat the entire restaurant which meant a 20 minute wait before noon. Once we were seated the staff was fast and super friendly. We ordered fast and we got our food so quickly. We love their soup dumplings but their noodles were a great hit too. The banana dessert was amazing!! The space is clean, bright, and open. First off, there was a super long wait and no where to hang out. The wait time increased 15 minutes from the Yelp waitlist prediction. However, there were several empty tables that just remained empty for 15+ minutes despite both the crowd and employees walking by. We almost left to go to the DZ in Portland because it would have been faster. Eventually we got seated. I overheard staff in the kitchen complaining about guests non stop which was a put off. As another review mentioned, it does have a cafeteria feel and they served us several items in disposal containers. The Portland location feels more upscale to match the prices and has better service and a better view. The food finally arrived and it was good. Just not as good as Din Tai Fung. They didn't have the Dan Dan noodles in a vegetarian version anymore despite being in the website still, so I got the Spicy Ma La noodles vegetarian. They week ok, definitely oily which a weird aftertaste. The pan fried dumplings were my favorite. I would skip Beaverton and go to the DZ in Portland next time for the better service, ambiance, and view. Or if willing to splurge, DTF in Tigard always delivers big. read more

This is our first time and really enjoyed the food. The menu is a little tricky to figure out and you do have to look on your phone to get on the waiting list as well as check photos for the description of food. We had the beef potstickers, pork buns, noodle dish, and a salad between two of us. All of the dishes had really good flavor. We mixed our own sauce from the ingredients they had on the table. Easy to find location, plenty of parking and great staff. The restaurant isn't huge, but it feels spacious and open even with lots of guests waiting indoors/outdoors. I typed in my name and 2 guests and it indicated a wait for 15-20 min. They seated us under 10 minutes! Yay!! After our very active (it's almost like a baby hike) visit to the Portland Japanese Garden, we were ready for dinner. I pulled up our itinerary that directed us to the Dough Zone located in Beaverton. My son is absolutely obsessed with dumplings and any food in the dumpling family, so we were excited to surprise him (I love how easily impressed he is at his age). Upon entering the restaurant, we placed ourselves on the waiting list via the tablet that greets you in the lobby. Roughly five minutes later an employee greeted and seated us, along with providing menus. While perusing the many options on the menu (it was a bit overwhelming for me), another friendly employee came by and provided us with water. To share amongst ourselves, we ordered the Fried Wontons with Chili sauce, Fried Wontons with Sweet Spicy Garlic sauce, Chicken and vegetables wontons with chili sauce, the Pan-Fried Berkshire-Duroc Pork Buns, Onion Soy sauce noodles, Beef steamed dumplings, Dan Dan noodles, and two Tsingtao (Chinese beer). Within five minutes of placing our orders, each order was delivered to our table in stages; everything was smoking hot, just the way we like it! While devouring our delicious orders, I took in the wholesome environment of the restaurant. The restaurant has a very open, minimalist architecture that is very appropriate for families sharing multiple plates of food (there is also small tables for couples). All of the staff were friendly, very efficient, and did a great job of checking in with tables to see if they needed additional food. The biggest surprise of the evening was when our bill arrived. For all of the delicious food that we ordered, the bill was a modest $78! I probably should have led with the fact that I'm from California, so the same order would have been $100 + in my neck of the woods.
