Ate here with my husband and son. Food and atmosphere were ok. Had the deluxe ramen with shoyu broth and shared the large fried chicken appetizer with spicy mayo. Knocking one star off to cover several inconsistencies. They brought out the appetizer after the ramen, they forgot my to go order and they forgot the corn we paid extra for in one of the bowls. I would not recommend this place to a ramen connoisseur. FOOD SHOYU RAMEN WITH BLACK GARLIC OIL: I could not tell it had black garlic oil. The noodles were ok but on the verge of over-cooked. The soup was on the salty side (I know, its shoyu) but there was more just salt than any other flavor. Plus it's attached to Uwajimaya so we like to put our name down and kill time at the store! The prices are on point and the portions are pretty good. We usually get the miso and shoyu base, but I'd be down to try the shio next time! Only thing is that the soft boiled egg is sometimes a hit or miss (my egg was over cooked last time I went :( ) but not too big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. Was really disappointed in the amount of meat given- felt that they were being skimpy with only one piece of chashu, and you have to pay extra for more. Pork is very mediocre and was a bit tough to my liking. Pretty disappointed with their whole waiting system, since that put a big downer on my visit. They have a waiting list for you to write your name on at the cashier podium, but we didn't know because it was not very apparent. Sure, they have a piece of white paper on the white wall which tells you to do so, but when there is a whole mess of people crowding around the podium and the wall, it is not very obvious (and the white on white just worsens the matter)! We saw the sign that says wait here to be seated, so we stood there and waited while trying to get the attention of the staff. Took a long time for the staff to pay attention to us, which was annoying. And because we didn't sign in, all the people who came after us (~3-5 parties) got seated first, which made us feel pretty bad. Note to restaurant: if you're going to have a sign in waiting list, how about you put it on a music stand near the entrance, where people will see it when they walk in? Smh. Also, pretty disappointed with the way the restaurant is set up. Seems like every employee is doing his/her own thing and not really working together, since we had two people come by our table right after one another to ask how we were doing. I usually order the deluxe ramen with miso broth. I find the miso to be uniquely flavorful and creamy. It really hits the spot. My wife adds the black garlic oil which is roasty and delicious. We usually order a plate of gyoza (pan fried dumplings) which is a nice addition to the meal. It gets a little busy, so go early and put your name and number down on the waitlist and it'll text you when your table is available. We usually go and shop at the market next door, Uwajimaya, while we're waiting. Both of our bowls of miso ramen smelled and tasted like cigarettes... We tried to politely ask them if they were the correct type of ramen and informed them of the smell and taste being off. They remade it and it still didn't taste normal.
