It was a rainy day ... a really rainy day and we were searching for a midafternoon late lunch or early dinner and since the temperature outside had dipped ramen seemed like a great choice. We were getting near the Deptford exit and I had passed Ramen Spot on numerous times so off we went. I love restaurants that transform you from the parking lot into a totally different place that is reflective of the type of food being served to diners. Ramen Spot creates a feeling of an off the main drag ramen location in Tokyo. Some fun decorations and an appealing menu had us forgetting the day outside, the traffic, and even the parking lot. Service was superb and friendly!! I ordered one of the Ramen options and my dining partner went with the chicken curry! Both were outstanding with large portions ... some of the chicken curry went home and was really good on day two! There was an interesting wall of comments from diners that added to the charm of Ramen Spot! Definitely will be back ... it's conveniently located right off the 42 Expressway and close to the shopping area in Deptford. read more

Coming from Japan after 5 years I am well versed in Ramen. This aint it. Service was ok place was clean with a facade of Japanese. Food... oh boy. Chasu was falling apart, egg was just a boiled egg, the broth was no where to being close to rich and flavorful and it missed on so many levels and finally the worst was the instant noodles. If you know good ramen this place aint it. Ive been to 1 star ramen shops in Japan that surpassed this ramen shop. Gayoza was more like somai and deep fried. If your an American that doesnt know good ramen then this shouldnt effect you too much but the price is also alot for what you get. In japan I could get better ramen two bowls 12 gayozas for the price of one of these bowls. Yikes read more

For dinner, I had the Deptford Ramen,$19. PLENTY of food for one person. Was very good. Pork was lightly browned before adding to the liquid and had two large shrimp plus all of the other stuff. I travel quite a bit and this is one of the best Ramen. I have had. I also got a side of their homemade Kimchi. I did not know it was homemade, but you could tell by the taste. The server, and Jack of all trades, told me they made it in the restaurant. Wish I would've taken a picture of it. read more

This is the best spot everything I ate was absolute perfection and the atmosphere is clean and fun. Everyone so nice, service is fast even the plates are gorgeous the sauce they serve is perfection. If you love ramen and live in the area, this spot is for you. Disclaimer that I'm not really a ramen guy so the food for me was just alright all around. However if you love ramen and don't want to drive to Philly this should do in a pinch. The service is nice, environment is clean and there's a parking lot. Bonus points for the best Mr. Wish in the area that's located right next door. We ordered the miso ramen, pork katsu curry, pork buns, and takoyaki. Miso ramen for me was just okay but I also don't like ramen. My girlfriend said she liked it. The pork katsu curry was just alright too but you couldn't tell with the way my plate looked after eating. They make their own curry which I respect but I'm a golden curry guy. Nice little Ramen spot (no pun intended) for the area. Food was pretty average but the place is very clean with nice friendly staff. It was even decorated for the season which was a nice touch. Not crowded at all and plenty of parking in the parking lot. No complaints with the food it's just not as good as some other places I've had like in Philly so I couldn't give an honest 5 star for that reason. If you're in the area and want Ramen without crossing the bridge this spot should satisfy the craving fine. Ordered delivery on Grubhub. The app failed and it went through as pick up. The restaurant refused to cancel it temporarily so I could put it through as delivery. Ordered again and paid twice. They sent me the original bag of food. How do I know this? Check out the receipt and the timestamps. They wouldn't even let me speak to a manager when I called. Takoyaki: 4/5 solid takoyaki with good flavors crisp exterior and a good big piece of octopus in the middle. Thai Tom Yum Ramen: 4/5 I substituted shrimp for their pork. The broth is good. Nice amount of spice for a small kick. Nicely done egg. Ramen was cooked perfectly. Their chasu pork wasn't the round ones you are use to but it was good; a bit fattier than I like but great flavor that bursts with every bite. The pork broth for the ramen was rich and the pork slices were tender. The appetizers were good except the crab wonton tasted sugary. The pork cutlet was good except I didn't read the description and it was drizzled with honey mustard. I prefer katsu sauce, which they didn't have. I always order takeout, but the other day I went in for the first time. So cute!! The decor is adorable and the space is light, bright, and clean. Also pretty spacious considering. Recently opened. Went on a sun, even though there were many open tables there was still a wait. Understandable since there seem to be wait shortages in a lot of places. Took my number and 30 mins later we got a table. The staff is very nice and quick. We ordered apps and 2 ramen. Popcorn chicken was really good as was the spicy crabmeat salad - ate half before I realized I forgot to take a pix! Ramen broth was very favorful! Not used to the actual ramen that was used, used to ramen noodles more al dente but this was really good still. U get a lot of ramen with it. Def looking forward to going back soon! read more

Gave a review previously for dining in. Here's a review for ordering pick-up/carry-out. The food is neatly packaged, and it feels like it is a good amount of food. Definitely doesn't feel like they are skimping on the amount of food dining in vs carry-out. This time, we got the gyudon (beef over rice bowl), chicken katsu curry don (chicken cutlet over a bowl of rice topped with Japanese curry), and the pork buns. The gyudon is very good: well-seasoned beef and rice. I'm glad they had the egg like most common gyudon in Japan, which helps coat the beef and rice. The chicken katsu curry don tasted good. Since we picked it up and took it home, the outside was decently crispy. Given that it was in a container with condensation, it was nice that it was still crispy enough. The inclusion of the fried roll was also a nice surprise. The curry was decent enough, but I recommend adding some togarashi on it for more spice (if you have it). The pork buns, I liked enough. Not the biggest fan of the slice of cucumber in it, so I took it out. The pork was very tender though. Ordering online and picking it up wasn't a hard time, and they had our order ready pretty quickly. read more

Your typical ramen spot - literally. Right through the entrance, their decor is pleasing to the eye (& your average weeb). Best things we got off the menu was the Charshu Onigiri (which for it's price you can't beat - $4 and it fills you right up!) and Kyushu Tonkotsu Ramen (flavor of the broth was pretty good!). Everything else tasted pretty average imo. The Pork Cutlet Curry platter had a wonderfully cooked pork cutlet, but the curry wasn't exactly what I expected. It is definitely more on the milder & herby side. Charsiu in ramen did come a little too fatty for my taste. One thing I will say that I loved about the takoyaki was that you actually get a big chunk of tako inside. Service was good. Wait times were what was expected on a 6-7pm dinner time. Solid ramen spot. I ordered the deptford ramen. It had a mix of everything in a tonkotsu broth. Shrimp, chasui pork, and all the other toppings like bambo, nori, scallions, etc... I liked how there were spices and chili garlic oil for me to add into the ramen broth. Really added another layer of flavor to an already flavorful bowl of soup. The eggs were perfectly done with soft boiled yolk. Every bite had a burst of different flavors and textures. Would recommend. read more

The first one tasted heavy pork smell, it smells horribly. and the last one, Gyula Don, just tasted like rice with lack of flavors. I regret spending almost 70.00 for what I was served. Picked up take out for dinner. I ordered the chicken Ramen and it was delicious. The chicken was flavored well, the broth was not salty and the portion was enough for 2 meals. We did order the popcorn chicken as an app but it was awful. It looked like chewed up fried pieces of chicken and it was very hard as well as lacked flavor. Overall a decent experience. read more

The service was fine, but the food was pretty bad!! The scallion pancakes did not have a lot of flavor, and the dipping sauce was rather blah. I ended up dipping them in the crunchy chili oil that was on the table. Keep in mind that I am not a super picky eater. The kicker was my bowl of Ramen! The broth was not a broth at all, it was more like a very greasy and disgusting gravy. I honestly felt like they ran out of broth and made of roux using the leftover grease from something they fried, added water and turned that into a 'gravy' that they passed off as broth. The braised pork slices that were in the bowl of Ramen were 95% fat but the ever so tiny little pieces of pork I got were cooked well. It was just bad all around. Never again! Very disappointing. I will go back to my favorite Pho spot until I can find another Ramen restaurant. read more

I ordered the Tonkatsu ramen and some pork buns. There was nothing inherently bad about the place but nothing that made it special either since there's soo many around.
