If you ever get a chance to go here, you absolutely should. First and most importantly, everything on the menu is absolutely delicious. This is mostly a ramen place, and I have never had a cause for complaint - but my favourite food on the menu is one of their appetizers bacon wrapped quail eggs. They are always cooked perfectly. They also serve some really amazing platters. The price of the food is completely reasonable. The service is perfect for what this place is. When you walk in you're given a paper menu and a pen and you just check off what it is you want. There is never much talking between you and the waitstaff, but they bring your food to you quickly, fill up your drinks as you run low and are always very polite. One time, I was eating by myself and my waiter noticed I was watching Pokémon on my phone, and offered to put the episode I was watching on the big screen. They're just nice here. Rayaki is a chain restaurant that I've tried in Philly and this location was no different. Everything from our appetizers to our ramen was delicious and fresh. I ordered a chicken katsu as a side and it was also perfect. A nice sized thin chicken breast with a great crunch. Love this place. My boyfriend and I frequently go for the delicious ramen. I always get the regular one, while he gets the seafood or shrimp one. It's a nice cozy location and we haven't had to wait for a table which is nice. The staff is friendly as well. They do have these delicious teas as well, which I always get because it's good. I've had my fair share of ramen places and this was disappointing. My friend and I both got the Black Garlic Ramen, the broth was bland. It did not have the umami flavor from the black garlic. The cha shu this restaurant uses is lean so it was tough and a bit dry. My other friend got the spicy miso ramen which was also bland. She ate a few bites and said she didn't like it. All three of us did not end up finishing our ramens. We also ordered the rayaki fries which had spicy mayo and garlic aioli drizzled on top. The fries on the bottom did not have any sauce therefore we asked if we would get more spicy Mayo- they charge $1 for a side of it. They should have drizzled more mayo on it in the first place. I've been to three different locations - cherry hill, glassboro and NE Philly. I like that they are consistent at all locations and you know exactly what you are going to get whether it's curry, teriyaki or ramen. Don't have a photo of the curry but it was pretty good and curry was flavorful. The teriyaki was probably my least favorite as I found the chicken a little dry or possibly just over cooked, ramen is good whether it's pork or steak and noodles are good as well. No, I'm not a ramen snob. But I've been to plenty of ramen places throughout my "ramen career." Rayaki in Cherry Hill is my go-to ramen takeout spot for this area. Why? Because the service is fast, the food is tasty, and they don't use any MSG. Hooray!!! I usually get the tonkotsu or the shoyu ramen and am never disappointed. And, the takoyaki is the best appetizer ever. If you're looking to avoid crowds because of the pandemic, this will not be your spot to dine in since it tends to get crowded (especially during weekends). But they do have a few tables out front that you can snag if you go during off-hours. Since this sits in a complex with many other excellent Asian establishments, the parking lot fills up pretty quickly. We dropped by on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and it was pleasantly quiet and chill. The restaurant is nicely decorated and they were playing some anime on the TV for the background. We ordered the spicy miso and tonkotsu ramen and enjoyed it for the most part. The broth and noodles were delicious and were just what we needed on a cold day! The only complaint we had was that the slices of pork were pretty dry. It might have just been bad luck that day, but it was pretty noticeable when biting into deliciousness and suddenly coming across something tough and dry while chewing. A very good meal even as take-out; was packed very well to travel. We love ramen and have found a #1 spot in NYC - Zotto and #1 spot in Philly and Princeton NJ- Tarakawa. We started with 2 Bao Down apps-- Charshu Pork and grilled shrimp- very interesting items, protein in a type of Asian soft taco if you will but much puffier and a nice presentation. The pork had a nice sweet sauce. Both very flavorful. For our Ramen dishes, based on reviews I tried the Black Garlic Ramen. Not sure why others had reported issues. Was very prepared and packaged with broth separate. I mixed the broth with the meal, let it sit for a few minutes and jumped in. The broth had a really nice flavor for Ramen. The pork was tender, moist and the ingredients all fresh. No complaints at all other than perhaps touch more kick. My wife had the Shoyu Ramen with chicken instead of pork and she too enjoyed hers. My boyfriend and I came here for takeout lunch on a Friday around 1:30 PM and were planning to eat it outside. They said it would take about 10-15 min so we decided to go nextdoor to TeaDo to get some bubbletea. By the time we returned the food was ready which only really took about 5 min. We got the rice cakes appetizer, seafood ramen, and tonkotsu ramen. It had rained earlier that day and the sun was starting to come out but they wouldn't let us use the table or chairs that were outside the restaurant which I thought was weird, we ended up sitting outside in front of TeaDo instead. My boyfriend enjoyed his tonkotsu ramen, his only complaint is that the pork could have been more tender but otherwise very flavorful. I liked my seafood ramen as well. They grill the seafood before putting it in the ramen which gives it a nice smoky flavor. You get 2 mussels, and 3 shrimp/scallops. The noodles were chewy and retained the broth. The ricecakes were chewy and the sauce was good but they weren't crispy. I've definitely been to other places with a better fried ricecake. On my way to New Hope PA, and did a detour, yes a BIG detour LOL!! Ramen has been hard to come by here in Delaware, so me and my youngest ventured out to Cherry Hill to try this amazing place. Due to covid, there is no eating in but they do have tables outside to eat or you can get take out. They also have paper towels and cleaning solution near the entrance/exit so you can wipe the outside tables off (thumbs up). I got the ramen with black garlic, my daughter got the miso ramen and we got the rayaki fries I think it was called. The food was delicious!!! This has to be the best ramen I have ever tried!! I had been wanting to try Rayaki since their opening and finally made it over last Friday. I can't believe it took me this long as I live and work so close by. There are not really any true Ramen restaurants among the multitude of Asian restaurants in my native South Jersey, so I was very happy when they opened. (Whole Foods in Ellisburg has a Ramen counter and Zushi Dozo also serves Ramen). The inside of Rayaki is pretty cool and one can easily forget that they are in a strip mall. The anime and artwork add to Rayaki's hip vibe. The bathrooms have bidets and although I am not sure how I feel about that, they were very clean anyway. We ordered the spicy Edamame and this was really good and came out hot. It was so good we kept burning our fingers opening the pods. I chose the Spicy Miso Ramen with Miced pork, seasoned egg, bean sprout, bamboo, scallions, mayu oil, miso soup base (pork soup base). I thought this was delicious but it brought the heat and plenty of it. My daughter ordered the Black Garlic Ramen with Cha Shu (Marinated Pork), bamboo, kikurage mushrooms, red ginger, fish cake, scallions, black garlic oil, pork soup base, seasoned egg. I would definitely order this again. The prices for a bowl of Ramen are about $10.00 more or less. There are some other cool things on menu I would like to try. 3.5-4 Yelp stars and a nice addition to Route 70. P.S. We were in the area and were about to revisit Dolsot House for some Korean fares. Unfortunately, the line was out of the door on this Saturday evening. After 35 minutes of waiting we were still standing outside looking in, Rayaki was conveniently located right next door with great Yelp ratings, so we changed our plan as a form of making a statement :) Ramen restaurants naturally have a quicker turnaround time. And we got a table for 5 after about 5-10 minutes wait. Upon entering the restaurant I couldn't keep my eyes off from the manga murals which covered all the walls. To me that's one of a kind and super cool. Menu was simple. The entire menu fit on a small order form. We simply wrote the quantity next to the dish we want. Now the curve ball: We loved tonkatsu, the Japanese deep fried pork breaded with panko. So 4 out of 5 of us all ordered the Tonkatsu* Ramen!! When the ramen got served, we all scratched our heads -- where were the deep fried, breaded pork cutlets?! In front of us looked like soy sauce marinated pork belly which could go with 2 small bowls of rice!! I asked the waitress twice to make sure they didn't give us the wrong dish. She reassured us. Oh well... Disappointment aside, the ramen's got everything, well presented, and price was super fair. The broth was flavorful but on the verge of being too savory. The marinated pork was what made the whole dish TOO salty. That was a shame because any other preparation of the same protein would have been fine. Yep, the only other ramen we ordered, the Steak Ramen, was indeed perfect. Despite the disappointment, which was partly our fault (see * below), I still appreciate this eatery very much: great value, hip, BYOB, and simply fun. I would like to try their Rayaki Fries next time. *I later found out that we confused Tonkatsu with Tonkotsu -- yes, just 1 letter off !!! The former is the deep fried breaded pork cutlet we were thinking, while the latter is simply one of the ramen recipes noted for its cloudy white pork bone broth. Lesson learned. read more
