One of the good sign of simple but great clean food is look at menu options. A lot for time a place with very limited menu is the one where you would have great food quality in every food you order. This was the case here. But keep in mind the Flavors here are Karnataka style. So you can't complain about Sambhar being on the sweeter side. Don't walk here expecting spicy food. As others have said, this is a hidden underrated gem for good South Indian breakfast dishes. Tried them on thanksgiving day, and while short on staff the food was delicious! This place is must try for Karnataka style breakfast. The sambar felt authentic and reminded me of Udupi restaurants back home and the preparations like Puliyogare, Benne dosa, and Uddina Vada are a must try. The special open dosa disappointed and wouldn't try again. The restaurant is a "hole in the wall", further away than most Fremont restaurants but a must visit. read more

Really enjoyed rameshwaram!! Service is absolutely great, the owner is so friendly and came to check on us several times even with a busy lunch hour! We ordered plain dosa, the thaali which was a special for the day, and the masala dosa. Everything was delicious, I actually ordered a second dosa! The flavors were so well developed and the dosa was both perfectly crispy and soft in the right ways. Some of the most flavorful South Indian cooking I have had. The owner is the same as the Aapakadai restaurant chain, but this is strictly vegetarian. The seating is most booth style and service is great. The vada batter was packed with so much flavor, which is usually more bland and dry, was moist and very welcome initial crunch. The batter for the dosas was quite good, making a little thicker dosa than some make, but very well cooked. The lemon idli were delicious, but the lemon was very light in taste with the crunchy fenugreek seeds and other flavors packed in. Altogether we were impressed and will definitely be back! read more

Decent new place in Fremont, serving the usual South Indian fare. The menu is standard, while the emphasis seems to be on some fare from Karnataka. The Special Thali with Poori is a good ensemble of dishes, South Indian style. Most of the items were good even if some were higher on the salt quotient. The Ghee Masala Dosa was good, but on the thicker side. The accompanying peanut chutney and coconut mint chutney were nice. The sambar was on the sweeter side and not to our liking. My friend introduced me to this restaurant in 2024, and I really enjoyed the food during my first visit. Because of that positive experience, I started visiting regularly and often placed takeaway orders. I usually ordered the Masala Dosa, as it is one of my favorite dishes. Initially, the food quality was quite good, but over time I noticed inconsistency and a decline in quality. Unfortunately, my last visit in June 2025 was extremely disappointing and led me to stop visiting the restaurant altogether. I placed a takeaway order and waited outside for it to be ready. After about 10-15 minutes, the person at the cash counter signaled that my order was ready, and I could clearly see him holding it. However, when I walked inside to collect it, he suddenly took the order back into the kitchen area. Through the glass panel on the kitchen door, I could see him doing something with the order, although I could not tell exactly what. He returned a few minutes later, and when I asked what happened, he simply said "nothing." At the time, I could not verify what he had done, but after reaching home and starting my meal, I noticed that both the green chutney and peanut chutney were unusually watery. It genuinely felt as though they had been diluted or tampered with after the order was initially prepared. I do not know the reason behind it, whether it was because the order was takeaway or for some other reason, but it was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. Customers pay full price and expect their food to be handled properly. No one should ever feel that their food has been tampered with in any way. That experience left a very bad impression on me. Between the inconsistent food quality, the strange staff behavior, and this incident in particular, the restaurant has lost a loyal customer. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this place to others. read more

This is such an underrated restaurant! They have the best Bangalore style masala dosa in the bay! It has the perfect texture with crispy outside and every bite melts in your mouth. It's the perfect size and price, with enough room to try their other dishes. We also love all their other dishes, everything is so well flavored, balanced and good quantity. We always leave satisfied and wanting to try their other dishes. Also love the decor touch in the restaurant with facts about the food they serve and homage to different places in Karnataka. The Tatte Idli here is among the best I've tried, and the coconut chutney is excellent. The sambar is good, and the rava kesari is delicious and melts in the mouth. Our go-to spot for Benne Dosa in the Bay Area! The dosas are most reasonably priced, well-sized, and filling. It's in North Fremont, so a bit of a drive for those in the South Bay, but worth it. The restaurant has a simple, no-frills vibe, like a neighborhood joint back in India. The chutneys and sambar are quite tasty--I'd give them an overall 4.3/5. The Benne Dosa and Open Masala Dosa are exceptional and have been consistently great over our last three visits. The Benne Dosa looks a bit dark, but it's perfectly crisp on the outside and moist on the inside, no compromise on taste. We also tried their idlis--Karampodi Garlic Idli was a miss for us (2/5), but the Fried Idli was decent (3/5). The Uddina Vade and Uthapam were good, though I'm not sure how consistent they are. The servers tend to forget or mishear something from the order and often claim we didn't order certain items. This has happened to us all three times we've visited. They do eventually fix the issues, but it can take longer than expected. Overall, a solid spot for benne dosas! Hoping they sustain! read more

Topped with masala potato, crunchy onions, special podi and cilantro. Perfect combination we loved it. Santha bonda : so unique. Besan flour mixed with onions cilantro chilli deep fried crisp to perfection. 5 pieces. Good price and great quantity. Very filling. Uddina Vada: this was alright, nothing great. Typical vada. Hot crispy and crunchy. Filled with pepper corns. The cilantro peanut chutney was and The coconut red chutney were both yummy additions to the tiffins. Service is quick. Glad I tried this place before I read the other reviews here! We went just a few days after their launch and I have to say their kitchen seems to be running at full speed. We ordered the vadas, the masala dosa, the Uthuppam and the special open masala dosa. Also had the filter coffees. The prices are lower than the average compared to other restaurants in the Fremont area and the portions are decent. All dishes were freshly made and very flavorful. The green chutney and sambar were both excellent, but since I don't really like the peanut chutney and didn't taste it, I can't comment on it. Service was more than adequate and the eating pace was clean and bright. I've added some pics for reference. I don't know why some reviewers are angry at this place, but I'd suggest that South Indian food lovers try this place and make up their own mind. read more

One of the worst places to eat. We ordered punugulu, benne masala dose, and idli vada combo. We got benne dose first and after waiting for more than 20 mins we got the idli vada combo. Never got the punugulu and had to finally cancel the punugulu order. When we asked about the delay the front desk guy argued back and threw a fit to even cancel the order.
