I am writing this in Yelp because I was sent a request to comment on Jason's services. Jason performed an home inspection when we decided to purchase a property. Jason was affable and nice to talk to. As I am realizing now after 4 months his home inspection report is flawed with errors and little on details. I know a lot of you have provided excellent reviews; I would too having not experienced issues after we moved in and reviewing the inspection report. Lack of inspection skills or dead wrong observation: 1. He did not identify that the the tub strained did not work 2. He identified the wrong A/C unit for the apartment when everything was labelled. We asked Jason to inspect a home we were buying. He was on time and walked us through the whole process, spending time with us explaining all the issues and concerns, their severity and options to fix them. He also spend time with us explaining things that were out of scope for the home inspection, as first time homeowners. He found an issue with the pool and suggested a pool inspection, which we did, and the pool inspector found a leak in a pipe. That finding saved us some money. Good catch ! We got the report on the same day, which was very detailed, with pictures and videos, easy to read. He even brought a drone to explore the roof, a key differentiator with other inspectors that don't do roof, or charge extra and just look around from the ground. The drone revealed minor issues with the roof. Even after the inspection you can still talk to him to follow up on additional issues or questions, and he replies pretty fast. Other inspectors just give you the report and go away. If you're looking for an honest, trustful and reliable inspector, call Jason. read more

If you're looking for a home inspector, look no further than Jason Ramey, home inspector extraordinaire. My wife and I purchased our first single family home and as always the yelp community came through in a big way by suggesting Ramey's Home Inspection. Prior to the inspection, Jason set the expectation by explaining he will inspect every crevice of the house so long as it was safe to do so. That included: the attic, crawl space, inside/outside of the house, and the roof. Jason also agreed to do the walkthrough with my wife and I so that we can learn the intricacies of single family home ownership, for example, knowing how to shut off our gas/water, and operate our breaker. On the day of the inspection, Jason was onsite early and had already inspected the roof and exterior grounds so we had several observations to discuss upon our arrival. Once we entered the home he was extremely thorough and upon completion took us through each room of the house to discuss his findings. I have no constructive criticism about Jason and we were extremely pleased with the entire process. Jason is the perfect blend of professional and personable, he's punctual, and has the ability to discuss his observations in plain English regardless of how much/little you're familiar with home ownership. Lastly, we compared his inspection report with the seller's inspection report and they were exactly the same when it came to the significant/actionable observations so I feel extra confident in his inspection. We asked Jason to help us with a property inspection of an apartment building we're considering buying in Berkeley and would highly recommend hiring him for any home inspection. We've worked with other inspectors in the past but were on a tight timeline for this and Jason had great availability and was very quick to communicate during the booking process. On the appointment day, Jason was very punctual and was a little early, arriving before us. He looked at structural, roof, foundation/ crawl space, plumbing, electrical, sewer lateral, appliances, windows, wall cracks, etc and also give us informal feedback on pest.
