I was referred to Dr. Ram (Glendora location) by my primary physician for eye brow hair loss and a sun spot. I was absolutely not satisfied with neither the Dr. and more so by his staff. It was such a waste of two visits. Each visit last less then 5 min and he does more talking then listening and he always insists on another follow up every 6 weeks, which each follow up is just telling me to continue to use the prescribed ointment, which is clearly not working, but hey here is another $40 co-pay for nothing :/ Also, good luck leaving a message with his staff for him. They never call you back and when YOU call them back, they act like you never called and left a message before. I could go on and on, but I will save them any more negative comments and just find myself another dermatologists. read more

REFUSED TO SEE THIS DOCTOR. I tried to schedule an appointment and was told that this doctor schedules 40 patients a day. That is 9 minutes per patient if we assume a 6-hour day with no breaks. He is the only dermatologist in my medical group so I assume my medical group pays very poorly. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. I will be petitioning my medical group to see another dermatologist. I have been going to Dr. Ram for about 3 years. It's a distance from my house but well worth the drive. He is a doctor who actually cares about the condition of your skin and will take time with you. I taught physical education for almost 25 years and my skin has suffered. His treatment has restored the skin on my face, which was very sun-damaged. Waited three weeks just for a phone consultation and Dr. Ram called me two hours before my appointment time. I was at work and could not answer the call. I tried to call back three times and he never answered me. I even tried calling the office and no one seemed to have a clue what was going on and that they would leave him a note to call me at my actual appointment time. I never received a call. I can't believe that I waited THREE weeks to talk to this doctor just to blow me off and dismiss me like that.This place is extremely unprofessional and does not care about their patients what so ever. Dr. Ram is terrific. I read the some of the reviews on here and am shocked we are talking about the same person. Dr. Ram is on the ball and is very attentive. He spotted my cancer immediately and had perfect bed side manner. He spent time with me, listened to me, and gave me great advise. Basically, he just saved my life and if he was as bad as these other reviews, then he wouldnt have given me enough time to figure my situation out. Ramin Ram doesn't seem present or mindful, or even listen to the patient. He rushed through my appt, I had to repeat things twice for him to acknowledge my concerns. My usual dermatologist recommended that I come visit in for another visit 6 months after my previous, when she did not have availability, I scheduled with Dr Ram. Upon first walking in he questioned why I would make an appointment so close to my last appt, I explained how my usual dr recommend I come in after 6 months and he said, "that's not necessary but reception was nice to do that". he rushed though my skin check, disinterested and rushed out the door, confirming he had not been listening to the other things I had mentioned I wanted to discuss. Finally he said he'd prescribe me "metrogel" for my skin concerns, confirming he had not been listening to me as when I had just told him I had tried Metrogel previously and it did not help.. what a waste of an appointment, he didn't give me anything to help with my Rosacea when just the day before my primary doctor recommended I discuss and get something for my rosacea from a dermatologist What a bad experience, I cannot recommend Dr Ram. There are good doctors out there and Dr Ram is not one. read more

I had heard really wonderful things about Dr. Ram, and after finally making an appointment with him after trying for 6 months, I was really excited to meet him. I brought in my skin care products and wrote a short list of questions I had for him to make sure I was using our time wisely. I've been struggling with acne nonstop for a decade and I have tried everything under the sun to cure it from conventional and unconventional topical treatments, prescribed medications, dietary changes, not wearing any makeup, stress management... you name it. Anyway, when Dr. Ram walked into the room he literally examined my face for no more than two seconds ( that is honestly being generous) and barely ever looked at me after asking me to explain my concerns. He talked really fast, stared down at the computer the entire appointment and answered my questions with what I perceived as a really rushed disinterested manner. I didn't leave the room with a clear understanding of why he thought the product he was prescribing to me would work differently than what I was already trying. In fact, if I understood him correctly he said it was basically a milder version of what I am using now. It seemed like he prescribed me a blanket medication he likes to give to people with acne instead of treating me like an individual. If this product should help me and my problems specifically he didn't make that very clear. The entire appointment probably would have been no more than three minutes if I hadn't asked him follow up questions prior to him giving me a prescription. I know that he had shown up late, and had other patients to see, but if I'm paying multiple dollars a minute for someone's time I expect them to be present with me and treat me as an individual. I've seen nice reviews of him, so I'm sure he's wonderful when he's not in a rush, but unfortunately I did not have a satisfactory interaction with him. read more

AWESOME! THE BEST!!! I went to Dr. Ram as a referral for a skin issue that has been going on for ten months! Ugh. I went to him and right off the bat.......he stated it looked like Exzema and from my GP, I was diagnosed with something else. He got me on a cream and poof.......I started looking like a normal human being a few days later. Not only is Dr. Ram professional, but highly personable. I only wish I could have him for my GP. Dr. Ram is the best. Really. Extremely nice, attentive, even asked me to call him by his first name and gave me a personal line. Went there to test some possibly still-cancerous skin and then for a Mohs surgery after some cancer was found on my left nostril. You could tell he had done it a million times.The doc went in there. I had an excellent experience with Dr. Ram a few weeks ago. I went to him with a rash that I'd had for several months and Dr. Ram helped me almost instantly. I had gone to another doctor a few months earlier, but the other doctor wasn't able to figure out exactly what was wrong. Dr. Ram was able to determine the cause of my rash within minutes. He was friendly and reassuring. He used examples of other patients who'd had similar issues, which made me feel like I wasn't some sort of freak of nature. He then recommended that I use a topical foam to combat the rash. He even hunted down a coupon and made sure that I went home with enough free samples to get me through the holiday season. His staff was incredibly friendly and they also went out of their way to help track down those valuable samples. I took the "Magic Foam" home with me and within a week my rash was almost completely gone. My follow-up visit was three weeks after my initial visit. Dr. Ram was equally as friendly this time around, which was impressive considering we met before 8 AM for both appointments. I'd highly recommend him to anyone looking for a competent, insightful and effective dermatologist. read more

I have suffered with severe acne for about six years. I tried every acne treatment under the sun and was treated by three doctors before him. When I started seeing him he encouraged me to take a "before" photo so I could see if my treatment was working. The results are astonishing. Before I could have anywhere between five to twenty pimples on my face at any given time. Now, I wash my face and I feel NO bumps. When I went back to show him my results, I felt like he was genuinely happy for me. He was always happy to discuss any concerns I had, and really put me at ease. This doctor gives medicine a bad name. I waited three months to see him (at his office in Glendale, not Beverly Hills) for various skin problems and was given less than four minutes of time to speak with him. Not only did he look at his watch about a minute in, (oh, I'm sorry, am I boring you with my skin problems?) but he interrupted me several times. I wasn't being long winded, either, I was just trying to list the problems I had. In the end, he literally gave me no advice for treating my skin, but suggested I come back in 3 months to see how things were going. Oh, and he gave me his card so I could visit his other office, which my insurance doesn't cover. Save yourself the time and the money and do not see this doctor. read more

Dr. Ram is the man. I've never had a more pleasant experience in any doctor's office. I had a basil cell removed from my forehead via Moh's surgery. Dr. Ram did an amazing job and when I left he told me to take some tylenol for any pain. Was not necessary at all. I had about an inch long incision stitched up and no pain. Here I am 24 hours later and the wound is nearly healed up. I'm blown away by the whole experience. He even called me the night of the surgery just to check in and see how it was going. He's young, optimistic, enthusiastic and professional. All good traits in my book. Highly recommend. read more

My general practicioner sent me to Dr. Ramin Ram to remove a skin cancer on my face. Dr. Ram performed the operation. The whole process took less than 90 minutes - excise the cancer (leaving a hole slightly smaller than a dime just under and to the left of my nose), then stitching the hole shut. Dr. Ram explained the process thoroughly in advance, and keep me informed of what he was doing throughout. The only pain involved was slight - the prick of a needle administering a local anesthetic, and he carefully let me know exactly what I would feel. After that all I felt was a little 'tugging' as he cut, and the smell of burning flesh as he cauterized...and he warned me in advance about both. In the time between cutting and stitching, there was a period of over a half hour while he did tests on the materials excised. I had brought a book to read. Though relatively young, Dr. Ram was friendly, most pleasant, understanding, professional, courteous, and, frankly, completely reassuring. More importantly, he did a good job and the result will be only a small, barely visible scar. He gave me his cell phone in case any problems arose (none did), and he called that evening to see how I was feeling. Most impressive. I could not be more pleased, and could not recommend him more highly. And the whole experience at HealthCare Partners Medical Group, from parking to short wait time, was totally acceptable. read more

Dr Ramin Ram don't seem to be very knowledgeable with different skin disease and seem to get easily annoyed if don't have a direct answer for you. He referred me to an Infectologist that was 'blind' who couldn't see an obvious skin infection and started to lecture me about tuberculosis which was not even the problem. Dr Ramin should definitely get updated about new treatment approved by FDA. read more

If I could give more than five stars I would. I got referred to Dr. Ramin Ram by my doctor. Before I went to see Dr. Ram, I had a wart on my thumb for the longest time. I am a big baby when it comes to pain. I got to go into my appointment early and I did not have to wait at all to see Dr. Ram. Usually when I go to doctors they take forever to see you and are rude. Not this time! As soon as Dr. Ram came into the room, he was extremely friendly and made me feel very comfortable even though he could tell I was terrified to get my wart removed. He was very knowledgeable and very sensitive to my needs. One of the best doctors I have ever gone too. He was amazing and professional and so was his office staff. Dr. Ram has been my dermatologist for several years now, and I have always had such a positive experience with him. When I was first diagnosed with lupus, I was referred to him by my rheumatologist. He has had to take several skin graphs for me, as my skin has always caused me some issues. He has always been helpful in treating me with respect and listening to what I have to say. With previous dermatologists I have always found it difficult to be able to get a word in without being cut off or making me feel like what I have to say is not important. It is not that way with Dr. Ram. I really appreciate his advice and he has always treated my skin conditions properly. Unfortunately I recently had to switch insurances and am not able to see him regularly, but he still allows me to call him and ask him questions and any concerns that I have. I feel like that's going above and beyond, and I would really recommend him to anyone! read more

My experience was excellent. Went in for a quick removal of odd growth as I was getting panicky - three weeks wading through an insurance foul-up got me increasingly anxious as this thing was growing fast (4X size in 3 weeks and bleeding regularly!). I had to push my way through the system (SCAN) or it all would have taken 8 additional weeks. They warned me that a doubled-up appointment might make for a wait. Not a problem, want this thing fixed - but was in the exam room within 10 minutes. All the staff were accommodating and professional. Dr. Ram himself was sincere, understood my anxiety and relieved it by saying this was not likely a serious problem, and went right to work w/o extra visits (which are usual to schedule even minor surgery), etc. So, this is my favorite doctor right now and for a good reason. They even validated the necessary valet parking. What else could one ask for, house calls? Dream on... read more

My daughter has been suffering with a skin condition behind her ears for years. I've seen several doctors with her, but no one was able to give us a thorough diagnosis and/or a lasting solution. Seeing Dr. Ram was an absolute delight. He is professional yet kind and absolutely brilliant at what he does. Within minutes he said that he believes that there are a couple of different things are at play and that is why they could not pinpoint my daughter's case before. He took a skin culture, prescribed the meds, gave some simple yet amazing insights on what we can do right away to ease the discomfort my daughter has been experiencing. Just after a couple of days Dr. Ram followed up personally, to make sure that we are seeing the improvement already. I don't get easily impressed by doctors, but Dr. Ram is an absolutely OUTSTANDING specialist. Anyone would be lucky to be treated by him and I could not recommend him more highly! read more
