Let me start off by saying that this was my first big home project and it went better than I ever imagined. For the last 14 years we knew we had to redo our driveway and patio. The concrete had significant cracks and no matter how much I cleaned it, it still looked bad. So we hit up yelp for reliable concrete contractors, with fingers crossed. Ramirez concrete popped for some reason, so I decide to reach out. Luis responded very quickly and offered to come check out the project and work up an estimate. Off the bat, Luis came across as extremely knowledgeable in his art craft, but also extremely professional and polite. Like if this guy was your neighbor you would look for him to just chill and chat. During his evaluation he listened to what we had in mind and offered us his feedback. At the end I pretty much told him we just want it to look nicer than most concrete jobs. I knew I wanted to go with his company very quickly. His quote came in as he had mentioned. He did make one comment that stuck with me... he told me "I want this job, I will give you a price that is going to be very good. You will see." Not knowing what a fair price for this would be, I did talk to a few other contractors. No one came close is that warm fuzzy feeling. His pricing was very competitive, but with my limited research I knew he was not cutting corners and he took his work very serious. Naturally we went with Ramirez Concrete. A few days before the start of the project Luis came over and walked my entire property with me. Pointing out every detail so we could be on the same page. Along the way, my inconsiderate butt, would make slight changes. Luis took it in stride and we would have a discussion to make sure we were on the same page. He offered design advice that we appreciate so much, because of the results. On day 1 they showed up on time and ready to bust some butt. They rolled in the demo equipment and tore up tons and tons of concrete. It was pretty cool seeing how the entire crew knew what to do without any audible communication. The day of the pour was another hectic day. They had 3 truckloads of concrete and a finishing crew of about 10. It was an orchestra. The meticulous attention to detail is nothing short of extreme pride in workmanship. As the concrete dried we were with our jaws dropped, and so were the neighbors. Luis and his crew went the extra mile on the finish. They cut their contraction joints not only for functionality but for appearance. Not sure which one took precedence because they look awesome, but the functional purpose was never compromised. Throughout the job Luis and his crew made sure that we would be happy. He said it so many times. His professionalism and overall great guy attitude had me completely comfortable. But his workmanship is that of a craftsman. If you are in need of a concrete job, talk to Luis. You owe it to yourself. There is no never human being in the business, and his quality of work is top notch. My wife and I have been wanting to redo our 20+ year old concrete and hardscape. I've been checking around and contacted at least 5 different contractors for quotes. I couldn't be more happier selecting RC Concrete. First and foremost, Luis is a pleasure to work with. He responded to my call and came out the next day to check out my project and come back with a very reasonable cost. My project scope was to demo all existing concrete slabs (backyard and two sides), remove raised planters throughout the backyard, new drainage system, build a block wall one of the sides, and install 4 posts for a patio. All in all, Luis and his team did the entire job in 6 days. They definitely have the tools and manpower to do this kind of work. It literally took them only 2 days for the demolition with 2 bob cats and a hard working crew. They spent the rest of the getting the area ready for concrete pouring. Luis and his team are hard working and very efficient. I live in an HOA and keeping the worksite clean is important. His crew clean up EVERYDAY, sweeping and spraying down the driveway and the street -- keeping the neighbor happy is important. One aspect that I truly like about Ramirez Concrete is that Luis is true to his words and I find him to be an HONEST and trustworthy person. He adhered to the agreed-upon scope, committed to the project timeline and more importantly they do QUALITY work. He even brought up a few recommendations to minimize cracking in the concrete slab. From my limited knowledge of masonry, I see some little details that I don't think many companies would do at a residence project, such as adding expansion foam all around my property before pouring concrete. Prior to Ramirez Concrete crew coming out to our property to help us with our problems; We had problems with drainage that would create puddles in certain areas, chipped/cracked tile, and mismatch tile installed by previous owners, or hired handyman who did a horrible job. Luis with Ramirez Concrete was very responsive and provided a quote a day after he came out to survey our property. Many other contracting companies provided a quote, but only two came out to see our property and answer questions. Was looking for a reliable concrete contractor to re-do the driveway at a property we were selling. Contacted about 4 different concrete contractors. Luis came out to give an accurate quote.
