Can't recommend. They didn't follow instructions well and later I discovered that I could have gotten it done a lot cheaper elsewhere.

This is such a great company! I got a quote from Marin and he was able to come the next day after we confirmed that we wanted him to fix our backyard. He was able to take out our weeds, demolish the broken concrete, level the ground, and put in gravel all in a few hours! His quote was very reasonable and they were kind and efficient. I hate to leave reviews like this, I really do. I will briefly describe my experience below. KEY POINTS: -quoted over budget. (I said I had 2000 and he quoted me 2100) -ignored several phone calls and texts up to & on day of job -flat out lied about his arrival -no remorse/apology/willingness to get the job done He came out same day or a bid, which is great, promised me he would be able to finish the design (It was just sod over existing grass) and complete the job by the end of the week. Well, that was on Monday, I am posting this review on Friday, and he refuses to respond to my texts or take my phone calls. I thought maybe something was wrong with my phone, so I asked my mother to try the number and see if she could get through, he answered the phone and acted as if he didn't remember the job, then when I spoke he said "Oh yeah! Hey buddy! I'll be there in an hour and a half." That was 6 hours ago. I have still received no update. I stayed cordial and cool, brushed his attitude off, didn't flame him for his insufferable behavior. Just apologize and be upfront about a job being too cheap for you dude. read more

I am writing this review in hopes that I can spare anyone interested in working with Ramirez Landscaping from going through what I have experienced. We selected Marin and his father's company because we wanted to give his company a chance. He was so professional throughout the process until the day of the installation and then he was a no show. I had already given him a 50% downpayment for the purchase of the plants. But on the day of install he was unavailable. After he finally returned our texts and calls, he claimed all 152 plants were delivered to the same address as mine but in a different city and that they had all been stolen. Instead of providing workable solutions he just disappeared. I am here now with a default judgement after taking him to court. Please take my warnings seriously. He will lead you to believe that he is honest and trustworthy. I see in previous reviews he will try to discredit me as he has done with others. It is a genuine pleasure working with Marin and his father. They were flexible in adjusting the start time to accommodate a late sleeping daughter, they communicated very well to ensure the work would be to my satisfaction, and they did excellent work trimming a very overgrown tree returning it to a more manageable and much more pleasing size and shape. I like them so much they are doing another job for me tomorrow, and they will definitely be my go-to team for my future needs. There pricing is also very fair. My company hired Ramirez Landscaping to handle the monthly maintenance on the landscaping around our property. It had been a few months since we had any up keep and it was looking very bad. My wife and I had been wanting to renovate our back yard for quite some time. We decided it was time during the pandemic so that our daughter could have a nice area to play. Marin came in with the best quote, and the best timeframe. While the job ended up taking longer than the original plan, it wasn't there fault, it was due to bad weather. Marin was able to install sprinklers front and back for us, design a playground area and remove the old grass, paper it, level it, and mulch it, as well as clean out all of our planters for an unbeatable price. We will definitely be using Marin again as we plan more projects. read more

UPDATE #3 5/2/21: I wanted to share the private message I received from this business after my reply to his first response. I can only speak about our experience and it obviously is not making him happy based off of his most recent comment. That is what this platform is for right, sharing your experiences good or bad. And BTW we didn't respond to him yesterday because we had a death in the family.Hopefully others will have a better experience so with that all I can say is good luck with working with this business. From Marin R. on 5/1/21: "If you really feel like we are breaking laws or have done something wrong then go ahead & contact your lawyer & we will see you in court simple as that. Y'all don't understand the difference between a first work fee , & a monthly service fee , y'all are old enough to understand but don't want to understand, Like I said call your lawyer explained not him what's going on & we will see y'all in court & I will be happy to show them my proof, your husband was outside watering the back yard when I had went to give the estimate don't switch things up now , own up to what is true & stop making stuff up your an adult , I mean that's what I think , your acting like a child. I am not a he I am a she, if you read my original review you would have noticed it said "my husband just had a heated conversation" I will add a copy of my original review below so you can read it again. In response to your reply...I have to agree with the other poor review you received that you do fabricate a lot of your story to justify your response. First of all, I do not know what guy you spoke to about the water pressure, me and my sister were the only ones out that with you at the time and we never said the pressure was fine in fact your father said it might be clogged but that when your team returned the following week it would be addressed which is why we opted out of the 2 valve system.  So that was the first lie, your second lie is there is nothing on the contract or estimate regarding a $120 weed cleaning fee. I would love to see the proof but just in case I attached our copy and as it shows the $120 clearly states it is for weekly maintenance which we paid in advance. In fact you can see it says it is due AFTER service not before, there is nothing there about charging us the same amount to clean weeds and because your team never showed up this week that we paid for you owe us $30 (not $40). And here is another fun fact when my sister told you that we should pay the maintenance at the end of the month rather in the beginning you told her you recommend we pay in advance. That right there should have been a red flag. And your third lie is about contacting us, there is NO WAY you made any attempts to reach us and we didn't answer. The only reason we called you was to find out why your team is not showing up when you said they would....every week this month we had to call you. I think we each spoke to you once about this issue and when you did not call us back that is when you stop answering. Shawn not Shawna, my sister called you...no answer...Ozzy, her husband called you....no answer....my husband "that guy" called you and you responded! And when he told you your guys never showed up you paused and said you would call him back but never did. He attempted to call and text you no answer...and finally me, I tested calling you from our landline and guess what....you answered because just like the other poor review after calling you so many times with no response you were familiar with all of our cell phones. When I asked you were the guys were you made up the excuse that you were waiting for us to put grass seeds down but you never gave us the information as to where to get the grass seeds and if that is the case why wouldn't you tell us and reschedule rather than have us look for you? And the reason my husband called you today is again...your team didn't show up and he has had it. He was pissed not for no reason and you know this. We have all had the same conversation and nothing has changed even after you told us you would not treat us the way the last landscaper did. But you did and that is what has frustrated all of us. It all started good. Marin was quick to come provide a quote, the price was competitive to the other quotes, and he was able to schedule the work soon. He said he would arrive at 8:30 to 9 am, but showed up after 10. The work was to remove a 200 sf area of plants and weeds from the roots & up and spray two application of weed killer. The work took Marin and another guy just under 3 hours including the first application of weed killer. The cost was $500 which considering how much time they spent seems pretty high. I later dug through the area to fix the sprinkler lines that they broke (not really their fault since they were old and brittle) and discovered a bunch of the roots from the offending weeds. Not just small pieces but long full runners. I went through the area and pulled out a couple trash bags worth myself. I wouldn't be as upset if they spent all day and still couldn't get them all, but that wasn't the case. At the end the initial work I requested to withhold $50 of the total fee until after the second application of weed killer. Marin assured me he would return the next day, but still hasn't several days later despite many texts, calls, and emails. I wish I would have waited on another company that was more busy for this work. read more
