I've always loved Ramiro's. Went there for lunch. Had albondigas and a taco. The tacos were terrible as was the service. And to top it off they ran out of salsa. When paying I asked if Martha and Ramiro were on vacation and was informed they no longer owned it. Sad to hear that but totally explains the difference in service and food flavor. This place sucks!!!! Went tonight to order tocos for their Thursday night special. It was all shell and lettuce!!! Had maybe a half of tablespoon scoop of meat in the toco. The lady said " That's what you pay for", for a $1.75. So rude !!!Toco bell makes better tocos. The place was also very dirty and not welcoming. This place is a very tiny spot to eat off of van buren and magnolia. The people here are very nice and the food is delicious. I've eaten here at least 5 times and it was only bad one time, the food tasted old and the Chile relleno egg was very bad and hard. Was in Riverside for business happened to stumble across this restaurant. Glad we did hands down the best salsa I've ever had and homemade. I think the horchata was too, it was tasty. My husband had menudo he said one of the best he's ever had. I had the 2 taco plate crispy to perfection. The waitress knew some of the patrons was awesome to see it's a local favorite. Will be back. If you are looking for a great small business to support during this pandemic, look no further. Ramiro's is a staple in Riverside that has been around for years. I usually get the Chile Verde and it is always good. It is not too spicy like some places and the flavor is always consistent! Although I would love to make the review about how great their food is, I want to dedicate my review to their amazing customer service. The family who owns it is so nice, caring, and will really go above and beyond for their customers! My family and I have been going to Ramiro's with our grandmother, Sandy, for years and years. Every time we would walk in, they would immediately come to say hi to her and she would be so happy to see them. They had the best relationship and Ramiro's was one place where she was always so excited to go to and felt home at. Whether we were going out to eat to celebrate or just for fun, Ramiro's was the place to go. She considered them family and we would spend a great amount of time there laughing and spending time with one another. When the pandemic hit, we had to start ordering to go. We would call in her order, the Ala Mexicana extra spicy, and they would make it just how she liked it. When she started getting sick and her appetite started fading, we couldn't get her to eat anything except Ramiros. So, that's what we did, even if it meant we had to order it for her twice a day. Their food kept her happy and eating, which is all that we wanted. Unfortunately, when my grandmother passed away in August, our weekly trips to Ramiro's came to an end. The family reached out to us after her passing and comforted us in a time of need. Although this was just a place we went to for food and we were just another family that came to eat there, I respected their gesture so much. It shows that they truly do care about the people who support them. Thank you Ramiro's for making my grandma so happy throughout the years with your food and your kindness. & Martha, if you are reading this, my grandma adored you. He got the Chile Verde Chilaquiles and I got the Chile Verde plate, we got my daughter a kids quesadilla with rice and beans. Everything was sooo delicious! Super delicious and actually authentic Mexican food! I ordered the combo plate with a pastor taco and cheese enchilada! The meat was tender and tasty! The enchilada had an amazing sauce that was just the right amount of spice! The chips and salsa came free and are both homemade! Omg it was the best I've had in a long time! I also started with a bowl of menudo! It wasn't as "tomato"-y as normal menudo but the broth was delicious and the tripe inside was tender and not at all rubbery like some menudo. The beans and rice that came with the meal were also delicious and authentic! My friend ordered the nachos and trust me, it's a big enough serving for one or two full meals! The staff were exceedingly friendly! We had my friend's baby with us and they each stopped by to say hi, fawn over the baby, and see if we needed anything. Another delightful lunch !! My friend and I enjoyed a very tasty and delightful lunch today at Ramiro's. We were greeted immediately by friendly waitress, served good Arnold Palmer beverages with fresh warm chips and great salsa. I had the Albondigas soup, chicken enchilada, and shredded beef taco combination - all tasty and good. My friend had chicken enchiladas and re-fried beans - also tasty and good. Great food here, place is a typical hole in the wall type area. Some people in past reviews have had their problems with the place looking a bit dated, but I didn't really feel bothered by the décor of the place. Place was clean, and it wasn't like the place was an eyesore when I walked inside. If there's anything to complain about, it's that you might have to park across the street to get a decent parking spot. But that's more the location than the actual business itself. Service was very friendly. People there were very nice and welcoming. They give you chips and salsa once you make your order. Salsa was really good, and I'm usually really picky with that stuff. They're apparently pretty proud of their salsa, considering that they have a few awards on their wall for it. I came here for the 3.99 burrito special(Monday, Wednesday and Friday). Decided on shredded beef and made it wet for $.50 extra. I wasn't really expecting much, considering that I'm paying $4.50 for a burrito in an area where most burritos range between $5-7. Couldn't have been more surprised when the lady came with my plate. Burrito was huge, and packed with a lot of shredded beef, rice and beans. Texture of the beef was really good and tasty, very good portion of meat inside too. Rice and beans were great, usually this stuff serves as just filler for a burrito, but not here. Enchilada sauce was seriously fantastic, I was dopping up a lot of my burrito with this stuff. Definitely worth the extra $.50. It was a great lunch, and I'm seriously baffled that my bill was only $4.87 for something this good. I was extremely pleased with my experience here. Service was great, food was amazing and the overall value for the food is probably one of the best in the area. I didn't think it was possible to get a filling meal for less than $5. Cannot get enough of this place! First I want to start off and explain how good the salsa is. It's a tad bit spicy for me but I can't stop eating lol I come here and always get the enchilada and tamale plate combination and it comes with rice beans and a soup or salad but I always get aboldigas soup. The enchilada sauce is perfect and I like to add some with cheese on top of the tamale as well. I've only came here once, so this review is based on my one experience. I found this place to be charming, considering some reviews mentioned it's outdated, however it's always the outed Mexican spots that have the best food. My daughter got a chorizo burrito, I loved that they have a breakfast or lunch option, one comes with potatoes the other with beans and rice. Same for my machaca burrito. The tortillas are fresh, and the flavors are on point. I got a side of chips and salsa and the salsa was delicious. Will be coming back. :) read more

I recently visited this restaurant after reading all the amazing reviews about how good this "Mexican" food was. Damn was I disappointed! The worst Mexican food I have ever had. It really makes me wonder who's reviewing this restaurant because there's absolutely no way people really think chili cheese sauce on chilaquiles is a Mexican dish. We have been coming here on and off since the day they opened. I don't know what is going on lately. We came here and wanted to try the nachos and the chili rellano. What a mistake the nachos were all fat-carnitas - fat it was balls and balls of fat-no meat just fat.. disgusting. there was a cheese shortage because only like 10 chips had cheese on them the rest were covered in beans. These were the worst nachos I have ever gotten in my life. The chili relleno was all burnt covered in egg to a 3 inch pepper that appeared to have come from a can. I have to say I am shocked at how bad the food was this time. I didn;'t see the normal guy in the kitchen it was a lady. She don't cook good thats for sure. Martha should rethink her cooking. I won't be back for a long time if at all. We love your salsa but you can't make a meal out of that.
