If I could I'd honestly leave them no stars. We went in to this dealership ready to buy a car. And we were greeted very poorly by this kid and his new intern. He came off very unprofessionally and rude. He was even mocking us behind our backs to his intern. When we asked if he could inquire about a certain style of car we wanted from another dealership (since they didn't have it) he basically laughed at us and told us he wasn't going to waste his time. At the end of the day, we went to another Subaru dealership, where an actual gentleman was able to sit us down and find out all sorts of information from us, making calls and showing us everything on his computer. I am really surprised at all the negative reviews posted!! I bought my Subie here a year ago and have revisted several times for maintenance and have never, ever had a negative experience with them. After being treated like a completely ignorant idiot at Curry Subaru, I drove almost an hour away to Ramsey Subaru. I found the model I wanted, in my 1st choice color, with the packages I wanted for $3k less than Curry quoted me, and about $1k less than a handful of other dealers. I also got a little more on my trade in. I dealt with Chris, who was laid back, not pushy at all, didn't bombard me with emails and phone calls, was available to answer my questions and made the whole experience quite pleasant. Service visits have been just as easy- they give me an estimate of how long I'd be there, and 3 out of 4 times they have been accurate. The one time that it took a little longer it was only a half hour and I had a book with me so I didn't care. It helps that the bathroom is super clean, there are free snacks and coffee, and there is a good deli and nail salon across the street Everyone I've encountered there has been professional, friendly and courteous, nor have I heard other customers complaining during any of my visits. Either I just lucked out, or maybe some of the reviews were written by competitors? No idea. After 8 trips to Ramsey Subaru, I can honestly say it's worth the hour it takes me to get there just to have good service. read more

Went to another Subaru dealer before I went to Ramsey... Quickly found out that I should have just went straight to Ramsey. Alex was great, really made the whole process easy and simple. He understood exactly what we were looking for and gave us options to think about to fill our needs instead of trying to force us one way or the other. Never felt like I was being sold. I purchased a 2015 subaru impreza in 2018. The process was straightforward except for the salesman push for us to get the extended warranty. Here's the short of it. They will mislead the daylights out of you when it comes to the coverage. I've never written a review but I'm here waiting for my 3rd Jumpstart due to a faulty battery so I have some down time. I'm paying the extra $1800 for coverage of absolutely nothing. I have a few scratches and dents that can probably be buffed out, also shared by the salesperson, but service will not do anything. My wife and I bought our first car here and had a great experience. We'd looked at a number of places and hadn't been able to find the right car -- including having one sold out from under us after we'd cultivated a relationship with the dealer and had called to say we were en route to put down a deposit. I started out in an email exchange with Alex who was completely honest about inventory and held the car we were interested until we were able to drive to dealership (over an afternoon, since we were coming all the way from Williamsburg, Brooklyn). The price quoted was fair, several hundred dollars below what we'd been able to reach with other dealerships after more than a little bargaining, and a few hundred below the local price guarantees we extracted from TrueCar. Straightforward, no bait and switch and no major attempts to up-sell us on the vehicle we wanted (we did buy a near-top model Impreza, so there wasn't much room for us to move). When we returned for the finance portion of the deal, everything was ready for us and all the paperwork was explained quite succinctly. Everything was as expected. They only managed to up-sell us on a few warranty options, but there were no serious efforts to cajole us, even though it was pretty clear we were first-time buyers. (My being an attorney might have helped) So far, so good. Alex gave us a great tutorial on the car and was a pleasure to work with, right down to programming our phones to interface with the stereo system. We've only had the car for one day, but so far everything has been great. read more

Ramsey Subaru is a joke. They might as well describe themselves as 'self-serve' because their workers aren't really going to help you. I came in with money and the exact car specs I wanted. They couldn't be bothered to stop their conversation to help me. I waited an hour just to get someone's attention for a quote. I basically had to beg for the privilege of buying a car from them. They beat their competitor just barely and with the promise of free services after the purchase. Now I try to use the free services which justified choosing them over their competitors and I'm told that it wasn't part of the deal. I asked them multiple times to confirm that the services would be free. They promised it was in 'the system' and would be taken care of. No need to write it down. I trusted that they wouldn't try to rip me off of a couple hundred bucks after I purchased a brand new car from them. That was a big mistake. Please learn from my mistake and go elsewhere. There are other Subaru dealers that will treat you like a human and honor their promises. Long story short, I overlooked poor service for a cheaper price and now I'm paying for it. If I had a time machine I'd go to any of the other dealerships instead. Addition: It is also comically that the Ramsey Subaru response team will respond to my Yelp reviews but haven't called me back like they promised. My husband and I went to look at a car that had been newly listed online. We were told the car was on a lift and we couldn't see it. We were promised that we had first rights to the car and that it would not be sold out from under us. Our family came Ramsey Subaru to test a used Subaru and get a final pricing. The representative that we test drove did not have knowledge of some common features of the car, but he did say he was pretty new on the job. A nice enough person. Cutting to the chase here: The good: A pleasant test drive. Representative did not attempt to apply sales pressure Free coffee, clean bathroom. Sales posters with dogs. The not so much: The car was being sold as certified pre-owned but was none too clean and had a cracked windshield. The rep said that would be replaced. This dealership charges $299 for "documentation fees" +$499 "dealer prep" fees. Non-negotiable. The sales manager did not feel the need to discuss pricing - he stayed on his office. Great work if you can find it. So - net - there is no negotiation here - if you're a student, a past customer - just move on. Perhaps they have competitive pricing on new? I'm guessing the proximity to BMW and other top tier dealerships allows Ramsey Subaru to feel no need to be price competitive. Subaru used to be scrappier but... we went to another Subaru dealership - in NY state. What a different and positive story that is. read more

Just had one of those moments when you know you are in trouble. Looking to buy a new Crosstrek 2018. Introduced to a salesperson who immediately informed me about how great this dealership is and trashed others. Had been to another local dealership so was somewhat knowledgeable about the cost of new vehicle. Had itemized cost of car, accessories etc. The salesperson asked me what the price given to me. When I asked him to please itemize costs he declined. Said didn't want to waste his time, and told me he would beat any price by at least $300. When I again asked him for a detailed price, he again told me to do my homework, come back with a price I wanted to pay and we could do business. I informed him that I was a serious buyer, had purchased a 2017 Outback last year had been a long term owner of Subaru and he still blew me off. Had no intention of giving me his best price. I told him that this was a poor way to do business and told me that this is the way Ramsey Subaru has become the biggest dealer around. I want to start by saying that we did not end up purchasing a car here. We were interested in a used car offered for sale online. We made an appointment with Bailey for last Saturday and arrived to a very packed showroom. Everyone we encountered greeted us and offered us beverages and apologized for the wait. Bailey set us up with a very nice technical person to test drive the car and then we sat with Alex to go over the numbers. Let me say that there was nothing wrong with the car, it was exactly as represented. Also, Bailey and the young man who took us for the test drive are wonderful assets for the dealership. Alex wouldn't or couldn't negotiate on the advertised price, and he wasn't too keen on our trade-in. He was willing to take it but for less than we thought it was worth. We went and had lunch and decided to look at other cars at another Subaru dealer nearby who offered us more for the trade in, had a car more to our liking for nearly the same price, and did not charge us exorbitant delivery fees. I took off one star because Alex was not upfront with their additional fees for prep, service, etc which can add quite a bit to the bottom line. He kind of added things up behind the scenes and just give a bottom line price figuring in their fees and trade-in without showing what the additional expenses are. If you go there, ask about delivery fees before getting too involved. If they say all dealers charge the same fees, it is not true. The overall experience was a positive one but be aware, ask questions, and do your homework before you arrive. read more

Just want to update since I have been taking my car back here for service consistently since my initial purchase. The service group for this dealer is solid. It even has its own facility away from the main show room to allow for more room. More space = more turns. Works for me since I won't have to wait as long! Would recommend. read more

I was referred to by a family friend to check this place out. I've had numerous auto purchases before but nothing quite like this. Alex Petrushin was very helpful and aided me in getting a car that would be both practical and affordable. His willingness to help was second to none even though he is an extremely busy guy. The entire process was very painless and took hours less than expected. Some of the other staff, like Stan, were very pleasant to talk to and made the experience stress-free for me. Alex was able to find a car that I like, with the basic demands that I put in place. I do understand how the retail business goes so it can be quite trying for the customer as well as the staff. Not everyday will be a good day. Perhaps I lucked out because I found it to be the best car purchase in over 20 years. The only thing that prevents this review from receiving 5 stars is that the numbers initially agreed to was not the same as the final outcome. However this was not detrimental to my decision. Horrible customer service. Nicest person was the older gentleman in parts and servicing. We had a mission to find a used car for a move to Buffalo. We were unconvinced abt Subarus options so we went to Nissan down the road. Not only was Nissan easier to work with as far as sales (managemt was brought out to be introduced and negotiate) but they were PROFESSIONAL/kind. No one came to work with us at Subaru when we came back a SECOND time to purchase a NEW car instead. They haggled and nickle & dimed us. At first I thought the sales man was the problem but then I realized the real problem: management. The boys-club sat in the back blasting club music and screaming over it to the blonde young lady at the front desk who screamed back over it. The blonde lady at the front desk hates her job or answering any questions (let alone competently). Try calling anonymously when its her shift: Its HILARIOUS. The boys-club made fun of Adonis, our salesman, who was clearly in training and didn't have the answers to any of our questions. They laughed as he had to walk back and forth. Adonis turned out to be a sweet guy who was just bullied and poorly trained. I'm positive the sales here could be better if the management didn't suck so badly. We choked down a few grand for the Subaru when Nissan wanted to work with us. I feel for Adonis who could obviously be doing better if he had guidance, sales by example and not the boys club to deal with. Fire the sales manager. read more

We were paired up with Max in sales, who promptly took us to check out the car in their off-site lot. Found a used car I wanted to check out at Ramsey Subaru. Called to verify it was still available. Nick told me it was, and to ask for him when I got there. I did so, and immediately Nick passed me to a different person. That person indicated I'd have to wait until a third person was available in order to look at the car. Meanwhile I counted at least three people who all appeared to be salespeople just sitting at their desks looking at their computers - not on the phone or seemingly engaged with a customer. Ended up waiting at least 20 minutes just to get to a point where we could look at the car, which was literally sitting out in front. We did have a decent experience with the person that came along for the test drive, though he didn't know too much about the car. Not surprising since it was a used off-brand (not Subaru) car. That's fine. I do my research. Test drive was positive, and came back and spoke with Alex. Setting up the transaction was straightforward-enough, though you'd think and hope they'd be a little more accommodating (limited to a ~3 mile radius within the dealer, apparently) about having a used car inspected by a third-party mechanic. I understand their perspective, but it is not exactly a customer-friendly policy. I understand the web has upset the car pricing and sales model, but Alex straight out refused to negotiate at all. This is a dealer, not the web, and it's not CarMax or similar, so I still have the expectation that there is at least some flexibility in pricing and incentivizing the customer. Came back the next day and had to wait for Alex to become available. In the time I was waiting was asked by two other associates if I was being helped. All these people standing around, but here I am waiting to buy a car... I ended up purchasing the car, but because of the car and NOT because of the service at this dealer. Service at a place where you're spending tens of thousands of dollars should not be something you have to get passed around like a basketball. It's no wonder places like CarMax and Carvana.com exist. I owned my last car for 10 years. I don't plan to buy another car for five years. I would only consider going back to Ramsey Subaru if they were the only choice to source a car I'm seeking. read more

I dropped my vehicle off on  June 19th for recall work  For my 2013 Subaru BRZ valve Spring recall.  They were informed about the after market modifications to the vehicle which include headers exhaust and ECM.  Numerous times I confirmed this was for the recall and not a warranty fix as recommended by Subaru corporate.  Upon calling numerous times  For status updates of the vehicle since nobody was communicating with me I found out that they would not assess the recall without a tear down. Excellent money for they attempted to charge me $1300 for the terror down which Subaru of America covered. After that I was informed that the warranty was voided and they would no longer repair my vehicle under the Recall.  At that point I stated reassemble my vehicle in its current state and I will have a flatbed pick it up when I returned from vacation.  Yesterday on July 15th I called the dealership to ask if the vehicle was ready for pick up and was told that the vehicle was indeed ready to be picked up.  Upon arriving at the Ramsay service center I took pictures and videos of the state in which my car was left. Which will be attached to multiple emails.  As you can see from the photos my engine is completely dismantled and carelessly thrown in the vehicle with  zero discretion for the interior of the car.  There are personal belongings in the vehicle that are now destroyed due to the negligence of the technician James who is working on the vehicle.  In the documentation I was given it States that the parts were going to be boxed up for the customer which I never agreed to and also States that I denied repairs which I never did I was never sent an invoice were discussed a price or course of action to fix the vehicle outside the recall. read more

What a complete waste of time! After shopping for a new outback at a few other dealerships, I decided to give the Ramsey Subaru dealership a try. They had a 2017 outback (base model) listed on their web site at just over $23,000. That is a great deal, right? I met with a sales person named Joe. He seemed like a nice enough guy but he soon started to throw out the typical sales person jargon that makes me cringe at the thought of having to buy a car. He tried to upsell me to a more expensive model and he even offered to lower the price! When I showed him my phone which displayed the Ramsey Subaru web site listing for the 2017 base model for just over $23,000, Joe started to weave a contrived story about how that car was not actually in-stock and he said that he was not sure how it (or the other car in a different color) were even on the site. I pressed him several times and asked how it was possible to list something on their web site and not actually have that car available? Dare I say, I felt it was deceptive advertising meant to lure in buyers. Joe lumbered over to his sales manager, Brian, and I could see Brian really thinking hard about what he would say as he approached me. At one point, he put both hands on his head as if deep in thought or maybe he was just psyching himself up for the big lie he was about to throw at me. He opened with. "well it looks like we are close to a deal here." My face went blank because we were nowhere near a deal. In fact, I was so disgusted that I had just spent over an hour of my day with Joe watching him punch the dirty keys on his keyboard, fill me in on all the boring details of his upcoming trip to Mexico, and check his iphone for texts. I just wanted to get out of that place. Brian basically repeated the same story as Joe about how the car that was on the web site was not really available and that he just didn't understand how I wouldn't want the premium model anyway. Brian, if you are reading this ... when a consumer sees a product advertised for a specific price and it is the EXACT product that they are shopping for, that is all they want. What they don't want is to have to spend over an hour driving to the dealership and then spend over an hour DEALING WITH not one, but two offensively aggressive sales people who are clearly just trying to make a sale for their own benefit. These two guys are the exact reason why I can not stand shopping for cars. They made me feel pressured, and just icky. For what it is worth, I was the only customer in the entire dealership that day. After I left, I went to Bill Kolb and it was absolutely packed with customers. In the end, I made my purchase in Yorktown at Curry Subaru. At Curry, the experience was the complete opposite of the Ramsey dealership. Save the time and your money. Do NOT go to this dealership. read more

Upon visiting your dealership we were met by a woman at the desk who could not be bothered to acknowledge or ask if we needed help. Your Salespeople were rude and could not be bothered to greet or even ask if we needed any help. I observed salespeople in a back office watching us in the rear lot and they couldn't be bothered to ask us if we needed any help. Returning to the showroom the blond at the desk stated that we could put our names on a list for help. We laughed at her disrespect and left your dealership. We entered Honda and were greeted kindly and even offered a bottle of water, spoken to with respect and within an hour confirmed a price for a new civic. Ive had mediocre experiences in the past when buying a car, the typical pushy sales people trying to upsell me into a car I didn't need. My experience here was quite different. Alex (Sales) fairly and quickly evaluated my trade in, got me set up with a test drive, and never tried to upsell me into a higher model than what I needed. Chris (Product Specialist) came along on the test drive and knew everything you could want to know about a Subaru Forester. The whole process only took a few hours, and was completely painless. I am highly disappointed with my experience today. After being told this location was "great" and hearing their constant ads on the radio I took the hike from my home in Linden to check them out. I didn't realize they closed at 6pm on Saturdays, and after walking in shortly after they closed a salesman immediate ran to the door (not to greet me but to lock the door behind me) and walked away. No one asked me if I wanted help or even greeted me (there were at least 3 reps standing around). I asked one of them if they were closed and he said yes they closed at 6pm. Then he asked me if I wanted a "brochure" and I looked at him in amazement and said no thanks. When I walked outside other 2 reps were leaned up against a new car outside smoking a cigarette. Not one hello or good evening or anything. I am truly disappointed. I was hoping to buy my car here next month, that won't be happening. I'll take my business to Emerson Subaru where the sales manager there made me feel welcomed, answered all my questions and I felt like a valued customer! He was very patient and never made us feel pressured into buying anything. On a second note, Chris F (tech guy) showed us every feature possible on our cars. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! These guys are the worst!! I placed an order for a new car 8 weeks ago they have me an eta of 4-8 weeks... I called on the 8th week asking where or what the eta is and I was told from their manager Brian "I don't know where the car is I can't see how far along it is and for all I know the car isn't even built yet!" Really, Ramsey?? After 15min going back and forth w/ these people who obviously know nothing about customer service he had the nerve to tell me I'm not a customer yet!!! With my experience they are lazy and incompetent... My order is cancelled and I will be ordering elsewhere even if I have to wait another 12 weeks... The manager had the nerve to tell me that my words are on record and if I gave him a bad review he'll have his lawyer sue me!!! My mother and I recently went to the Ramsey dealership and did not have a good experience. My mother went back on her own and had the same bad experience. The sales people were not friendly and had poor customer service. The dealership didn't have a brochure for the car she was interested either time. The sales people ignored us and did not want to provide any assistance. I have several friends who have had the same experience. I have to wonder if we were ignored because we are women. read more

I will never go back to Ramsey Subaru ever again after the issues I've had with them. They are dishonest and apparently don't take proper notes when their customers complain about an issue. I purchased a car from them and had an issue with the tires on my car after only driving it for 10,000 miles and not only did they blow off my issue, they said "some tires are only made to be good for 10,000 miles".... Yea, they're called R-Comp slicks, not supposed stock all season tires! Would NEVER recommend them to anyone! read more

I had a horrible experience here, the sales person I had was totally lack of knowledge of what she was selling. Ordered my car and waited 2 months, ended up they ordered the wrong color for me. They didn't do much to make it up for me. took my deposit and never came back again. So buyers beware, they might sound cheaper, but they aren't . And the coupons on their website never work. So take your money and go else where and don't believe those prefect review with the Sale person's name keep on popping up. read more

I was interested in a few pre-owned vehicles at Ramsey, maybe if you're looking to buy new you'll have a different experience. I was treated like it was a luxury to be allowed to even walk into their showroom. They were the most unfriendly, disrespectful, and rude dealership I've ever had the misfortune of entering. Not a single person I encountered treated me like they wanted my business or to help me buy a car. Unfortunately my ordeal at Ramsey so turned me off to the whole process that I'm ready to put my car search on hold for a few months. We got the run around here. We were told there were no 2013 outbacks anywhere in the area but we could buy a 2014 that had a higher APR and was a higher cost. Michael was the "nice guy" but really was a tricky salesperson. He actually ran out to our car when we left saying he "found" some 2013 cars. We said we would call back in a few minutes to see what he had. We called back and he never returned the call. So we drove an hour to Paul miller Subaru and had a great experience! Why is car shopping always such a horrible ordeal ? I would give the place zero stars or less. I was at this dealership this morning, looked at every vehicle, and not one employee there acknowledged my existence. I was the invisible man. No one offered to help, not even a hello. Never again. I bought a nice used car that was close to a new car (27k, all said and done) and was told it would have a fresh oil change and coolant flush before leaving the dealership. Welp, they flushed it alright, but they never replaced it! I made it about 30 miles before overheating due to no oil being in the car and had to get towed back. Maybe a mistake? But since then I have had faulty work done on my car every time I visit. They have cost me enough time and money. Went to buy a car and meet with their top sales Rep Alex. Nice guy however never got the feeling that he was interested in helping me from start to finish. He was more interested in customers that was going to leave with a car that very minute. I went back into see if I could get some additional questions answered I was directed to the sales manager and got the same service and experience (rushed) I'm not sure how this dealership won a customer experience award!! Well, this is a complicated review. I give the dealership and it's employees 5 stars. I give Subaru itself 0 stars. Everyone at the dealership is beyond helpful and friendly, however, after buying a 2017 Subaru Impreza brand new off the lot in cash...it has been a world of issues and trash. The car itself is beautiful and a great ride...that is...if it starts every time and if it did not brake check me for no reason, or say I was leaving the lane when I was not or if it would be a reliable vehicle. Subaru Corporate is complete trash and totally useless. They could not care less that this vehicle has major problems and they do not care about the safety and service that they 'stand by'. Pretty disappointed that after over a month i have not heard back about the 2015 Crosstrek. I came into the dealership in January and was told they were not in to test drive but would get a call in 10 days. It has been a month now and not only has the internet sales manager not called me like he said he would, he hasn't returned my voicemail's ( 3 to be exact) I planned on purchasing a car this saturday, so my buisness will be taken elsewhere. if you want to buy a car you shouldnt have to chase someone down. So happy we went to Ramsey Subaru for our new Outback. Our experience with them was truly excellent. They really did everything to make us happy. We ordered a car that was a color we didn't like. It was our fault. Alex took it all in stride and quickly found another car with the same options in a color we liked at another dealer and got it to us in a week! He really went above and beyond. Mike was great to work with for our financing and made everything clear and easy. Chris went over all the car functions and features with us in detail. He helped us sync our phones. It was all orderly and clear. And what a nice guy! And a word about the pricing. I did research online and checked pricing with other dealers. Ramsey was the best and even lower than I had anticipated when I got a price on paper. Never any pressure or sales tactics. Just go here and don't waste your time anywhere else. read more
