I made an appointment to test drive a 2017 WRX but when I arrived at the dealership Alex advised me that they DO NOT ALLOW CUSTOMERS TO TEST DRIVE THE NEW WRX OR STI! How do they expect a customer to purchase a car without test driving it?! I ended up test driving a 2015 WRX instead and the test drive consisted of back roads (to see 2017 model in a lot) and about a minute on route 17... not at all adequate to get the feel of the car. They knew what car I wanted to test drive when I made the appointment, so they were just wasting my time! They use sleazy sales tactics and I will never go back. Sent in a new price request on different car same color and options. Got quote 10k higher on the same car I test drove that was supposedly suddenly taken. After coming back and waiting to see someone a non-sales associate took us out. We were told we'd wait 10-15 to meet with a sales associate. We waited. And waited. And even though half the place was empty since it was 5:15, still no one came. After 50 minutes we walk out. No one noticed. And we were set to buy the car in cash. What a shame. I am disappointed in Subaru all around. The fact the car has a dangerous issue 2 weeks after we buy it, "policies" that one subaru dealer can't work with another subaru dealer, the service person calling me to tell me what was wrong with the car then calling my husband to tell him he gave me the wrong information and the car is fine, they found nothing wrong with the car. Yet my husband was driving and all dashboard lights lit up and he lost power steering. The technician told my husband maybe he wasn't driving the car right. I didn't know there was a secret to driving a Subaru. Subaru did say they will pay for the car we had to rent. That is why I have the extra star, but as of now I would not buy another subaru. We bought a car from this dealer and the service we received from Max our salesperson was extremely unprofessional, disrespectful and shameful! The customer service was poor from start to finish. We had to wait for the car to be detailed even after notifying Max that we would be picking up the car. When we asked who was detailing the car, Max responded that "Some Spanish guy" on the other side was doing it. I was so disturbed to hear this racist comment, I made it a point to ask Jesus his name and refer to him as such. He gave numerous excuses why he could not reschedule a test drive, which I only had the opportunity of doing the day or purchasing. At times, it felt as if they were doing us a favor by selling us the car! On top of the horrible service we received, look what we got in the mail attached to our new license plates!!!!! They forgot to remove a post it note which says "Please call and let him know his plates are here and to come pick them up. I don't like him". The note was from Max to his assistant regarding his dislike for my husband!!!! When we called the Corporate office, the Representative was speechless when we read the note to her. She was in disbelief and embarrassed that the salesperson Max represented Subaru. So ironic, the number one goal that they strive to achieve is customer service... go figure. read more

Rather than owning up to their misdiagnosis of my problem, they stand by the "its your safety that is our primary concern, so we suggested replacing everything and charging you a fortune." Meanwhile, it looks like Robert W. is overlooking the fact that they also didn't fix the wheel stud I paid them for. If you are concerned for my safety, shouldn't you ensure the stripped wheel stud was fixed? Wouldn't it be a danger to me if my wheel fell off while driving because one of my lug nuts was not properly secured to the wheel stud, due to it being stripped? Glad to see that a representative from Ramsey Subaru is showing publicly how poorly their business operates from a customer service perspective! read more

If you're in the market for a new Subaru: do yourself a favor, skip all the bs, and go straight to Ramsey Subaru. I recently purchased a new 2017 WRX. I talked with several dealers in the North Jersey area via email and got their "OTD" prices. Manny (internet sales) gave me the cheapest price by over 1k. I asked the other dealers if they could beat the price I was given at Ramsey and simply put, they could not. One salesman even said "A $1,000 difference is a bit of a red flag- I would just double check that we are discussing the same vehicle." I had a feeling I'd be purchasing from Ramsey so I went there first; I wasn't wrong. When I arrived at the dealership, I was approached by Steve Rouhana (sales rep) and he immediately established a level of comfort. Guidance was provided every step of the way. The WRX was already parked out front so I could immediately take a look at it. We talked numbers for a little bit and quickly reached a deal. Go see Steve if you're in the market. Nothing but good things to say about this dealership. In today's world, not every business understands the concept of customer service and how important it is; these guys do. Never again - bought a certified used car - the car was not touched from turned in from lease- they had it for 2 weeks - no new tires, just threw in matts, no redoing brakes. The were extremely rude. And to top it off empty tank of gas! read more

I was going to give this place 4 stars but thinking on one general person at that place, I said no...You're getting 3. I drove an hour to this dealership for one car that I saw advertised, it was kind of a swing for me because they had not uploaded a picture yet and the vehicle was used. I called to confirm beforehand if it was available and spoke with Mike, he told me to just ask for him when I arrived. When I got there, apparently everyone was interested in buying cars because the place was packed. I stood there for 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged me, part of this I blamed my boyfriend for because if I were alone, any salesman would have loved to take advantage of me. I watched people who had entered after me get helped immediately which was not very nice as we stood there waiting and the multiple failed attempts at waving someone down. Finally, the guy at the counter asked...We said we were there to see a car and the guy we had spoke to Mike. They told us he was out giving a test drive and would be with us shortly....an hour later... We went back up to the front and said we didn't need to see Mike and that any salesman would do. They told us that Mike would be with us shortly. 10 minutes later good ol' Mike showed up. I understand how incredibly busy it was, so the wait (an hour and 10 minutes) was fine. Mike was a no bullshitter, he immediately remembered who I was and grabbed the car to take it for a test. He was super nice through the whole process of it, even when it came to what I believe were ridiculous fees added on to the cars original price that up'ed it to 1,400$ more than the tagged price. I was able to talk him down for some of that cost. He tried getting us to finance through their co-partnership with another bank and refused since we had already had a loan with the bank we had been established with for a very long time and had amazing rates for. He didn't try to push any further. All was going well. We ended up in a room with another guy to finalize the process, this is where the stars get knocked off. At this point it had been 2-3 hours into the process. I don't remember the guys name because he didn't leave a good impression. He was beyond rude, talked down to us, and kept trying to push extra insurance and financing from their dealership, when we declined the first time we just simply mentioned our bank had already taken care of all of that for us. With an attitude he states "from what I know, *insert bank* doesn't do any of that". Well sir, what I'm trying to say is I don't want your crap and I don't want to finance through you. I left to go charge my phone and my boyfriend didn't have a very nice time with this guy alone. Rude, attitude, and insulting. You work for customer service, you'd think he would have been a bit nicer that I was one of the few that had actually bought a car that day. Most people I saw walking in and out weren't serious buyers. So we went back to the waiting area and....waited. 4 hours...4 hours at that place and I was finally able to take my car home. Overall, expect a long wait. I definitely recommend asking for Mike, be wary of the snotty noised brat who finishes the paperwork that feel entitled because he has his own office. read more

I found Clayton, the sales manager, on a WRX enthusiast forum. Hands down the guy knows how to set up a deal. If you are in the market for a WRX you MUST... ABSOLUTELY MUST go to Ramsey. No dealer in NY, NJ, or CT can touch their inventory numbers or pricing. I drove all the way from central Long Island to Ramsey, NJ to get this car. That's 55 miles/90 minutes... No local dealer in NY could touch this deal with a 10' pole. I got a quote over emails (I had driven the car before locally and knew what I was looking for) and when I arrived I met with my salesman Dan Willis. We spoke for about 10 minutes in the showroom while Mike the Finance Manager put the deal together. As I transitioned to Mike's office Dan made sure the car was gassed, detailed, and prepped for delivery. After signing documents for maybe 5 minutes I was given my keys and shown to my new WRX in the garage. From there I was introduced to Jose who setup my infotainment system, Bluetooth, Navigation, and explained all the features of the car. I was maybe in the dealership a total of 1 hour. I've bought 4 cars in my life and by far this was the fastest, easiest, and best experience I have EVER had inside of a car dealership. They're not sharks, they're not out to screw you. They're people who understand what you need and do their absolute best to get it to you. read more

We went to test drive a 2018 Outback. When we arrived the car was dirty inside and out, still we were interested as we had been looking for this model for a while and the price seemed reasonable. The salesman provided us with a cost breakdown outlining taxes, fees, and the finally price. After some negotiation, he offered us $500 off the car if we were to leave a deposit that day. We agreed to the finally price and left the deposit. After we gave him out credit card, he came out with the paperwork to which he had added an additional $499 in fees for cleaning and maintaining the vehicle. The bottom price was presented in such a way that our $500 deposit made it look like the price we had agreed to. After we got home and reviewed the paperwork we realized they were not giving us the price that we had agreed to. We emailed the salesman to show him his mistake thinking it was an honest one, but he responded saying it was standard to charge $499 to clean the vehicle and sorry he forgot to mention it while we were negotiating. Needless to say, we walked away from this dirty dealer and strongly recommend others do the same. read more

Do not go here for auto work. I have never left this place with the proper work done on my car. (Literally, I had work done here 5 times and each time nothing was fixed) I stopped going for a year but tried again recently for a more serious job. $1500 later a few things were replaced and nothing was repaired - same symptoms continued. Ended up being a simple $150 fix that I discovered but had to make 4 additional trips here to have them agree this was the problem. Completely disappointed with the sales person who took care of my daughter today. She went in to test drive a pre owned car and would have been ready to purchase it today. The price on line was as listed, but then the fees were piled on top. First was the typical fee to go to DMV ($300), then the prep fee ($500) and then the actual costs to transfer title and register. The sales person estimated those to be $250. The actual per the DMV web site is about $106. I offered to buy the car today if the prep fee was waved and was told it was a mandatory charge. I offered to take the car as is - no prep needed by the dealer. And of course that was turned down. Business must be good for someone to walk away from a firm sale. Time for us to keep looking elsewhere. read more

He was open, up front about pricing, knowledgable, and I purchased a car from him within 15 minutes (over the phone). I did not even have to step foot into the dealership which is incredible given the other experiences I've had with Long Island Subaru dealerships. It was just an absolutely different car buying experience. I couldn't be happier. We started at another dealer but were told that the Subaru forester did not come in Silver with black interior in the premium package. We were going to buy a car we didn't want but tried calling the Ramsey Subaru dealer and are incredibly glad we did. the entire experience was much better from how knowledgable the salesman was to how accommodating all the support personnel were to us. Josh was able to locate the car we wanted and had it waiting when we arrived the next morning. We were able to register the car in another state saving us hundreds of dollars. Did a bunch of research on local dealerships, made a couple visits to dealerships, and then chose Ramsey mostly because Alex Petrushin was straightforward, and honest and the numbers we closed the deal on both were very fair. We have been visiting the Ramsey service department for 2 years now for all of the basic maintenance of our 2014 Outback. These people are so honest and helpful. It has been quite honestly the best experience we've ever had with a mechanic shop. I would highly recommend these guys! Just bought our first Subaru from Ramsey. The Cons: We paid pretty much full suggested retail price for this car. I do NOT blame Ramsey for this -- we called a LOT of Subaru dealers and at this time it's the way it is for this particular car (2013/2014 Impreza 5-door). We tried to get a different dealer to come down $200 on the entire price of the car and they graciously declined. At that point I figured that if I was going to pay the same price no matter where I went, I might as well go with the folks who treated me well. The Pros: Really first-rate service on the purchase. No hard sell on the accessories or extended warranties. We had to order the car and they did a great job of keeping us informed as the process moved along. Of course this is all very new and perhaps my opinion will change over time, but for now we're happy. read more

By far one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Bought a car and I have so much remorse I'm a single parent whose son was just deployed and they use that to their advantage. My first warning sign should have been when they raised the APR on me without telling me. By luck I noticed it on the form and the finance manager nicely explained that I was incorrect but he fixed it anyway. I signed a contract electronically without knowledge of it being a sales contract. I was told it's regular paperwork it wasn't until I got home I noticed that the price of the vehicle was increased. So please buyer beware if anyone is going to this dealership please keep in mind their deceptive practices for you to sign their documents. I'm quite embarrassed of what happened to me. But I do not want this to happen to anyone else. You'll hand sign the unimportant paperwork but they're your electronic signature on a sales contract. read more

Overpriced, careless and don't take responsibility! Don't use night drop off. My car was scratched up, they refuse to take any responsibility (pointing to some fine print on the envelope that clears them in case something happens to your car.) I dropped it off at night for just a quick and regular oil change with the check mark next to "call me before performing any services." They called in the morning just to say they noticed it's scratched up (in their care) and will now start the oil change. Upset about the news, I came in later to pick it up and was met with very indifferent and nonchalant attitude from the service writer. I asked what will they be doing about the damage and was told they will review the security cameras on Monday (it was Saturday) and get back to me with some resolution. I was given the bill for close to $60 for just an oil change which I requested to be regular not synthetic. They performed synthetic and said my car required it. Shouldn't this be communicated BEFORE the service??? Manager Jon never called me back. I had to track him down with multiple phone calls, only to finally get "there is nothing we can do, we're not responsible for customer's vehicles while they're parked in our lot." Needless to say I will never be going back and I'll be sure to share my experience with Better Business Bureau and maybe some local news channel. Don't waste your money, there are many better choices for your car repairs! read more
