More importantly, it's totally worth it. We got a box of goodies and they were all fantastic. You can taste the quality of the products they use. You can taste the butter. It's just lovely. My husband also really liked his latte. We sat inside and ate some of our goodies. We took the rest home for my mum for Mother's Day. My family loved them, too. Nice space. We also bought some whole wheat flour as a gift while there. Will absolutely go back when I'm in the area.

If I'd had more time, I would have loved hanging out here for a while. I only managed to get here about 45 minutes to close, so their selection was understandably if somewhat disappointingly quite picked over. I wound up with a cranberry oat scone and a blueberry and raspberry hand tart. The employee was very pleasant and warm. I appreciated her eagerness to help and positive attitude despite my late arrival. The baked goods sadly didn't really live up to my expectations. The cranberry oat scone was the much better of the two; it was pleasantly sweet and had the proper scone texture and only a little dry. Unfortunately, the hand tart had several edges that I discovered later had been burnt. This impacted the flavor of the whole item and sadly diminished it greatly. The fruit filling was tasty at least, though I didn't get much raspberry from it -- mostly blueberry. I'd be down to try again in the future, just would come earlier in the day when the selection is a bit larger and the products available are a bit more "choice," let's say. I appreciated the kind service and lovely vibes!

The atmosphere is bright, welcoming, and relaxing, with soaring vaulted ceilings, a gorgeous stone fireplace, plenty of natural light, and air conditioning that makes it the perfect place to escape the Tennessee heat. They even have a covered porch with fans and café lighting if you'd rather enjoy your coffee outside. The beachy Hawaiian vibe is unlike anything else around. It's peaceful, inviting, and a wonderful place to study, catch up with friends, work remotely, or simply unwind with a great cup of coffee. The coffee is outstanding. Mahalo roasts their own beans, and you can absolutely taste the difference. Every cup is smooth, rich, and full of flavor. My favorite is the decaf, which has delicious notes of cocoa and toasted marshmallow, but I've enjoyed several of their regular coffees too. They also offer great milk options, including Califia Farms almond and oat milk, along with traditional milk, cream, and other alternatives. The drive-thru is quick and convenient, making it easy to grab a coffee on the go, but I highly recommend spending a little time inside because the space is so inviting. Their merchandise is also adorable! The shirts, hats, mugs, and bags of freshly roasted coffee make it hard to leave without taking something home. If you're anywhere near Knoxville and looking for an incredible local coffee shop, Mahalo Coffee is absolutely worth the stop. Between the exceptional coffee, beautiful space, amazing staff, and genuine hospitality, it's the kind of place you'll want to visit again and again. Mahalo truly brings a little slice of Hawaii to East Tennessee. Highly recommend!

Inside, it has a touch of 70's flair and midcentury pizzazz in a small but serene space. Seating is limited, with a few cozy seating spots and many bar seats and low-top tables. The wi-fi was rockin' and many outlets being put to good, techie use. The barista warmly greeted us and quickly got to work with our creations-a cold brew and a hot latte. There is a $1 upgrade for dairy alternatives and any sugar and sweetener is in a self-serve area, not added into the drink (although the barista asked me if that's okay, thus, I think she would have added if I preferred that). They have sugar and stevia, as an FYI for anyone who wants/needs a different option. They have a few baked treats and a few seasonal coffee flavors and add-in flavors and beyond that, the drink menu is simplistic. My latte was the creamiest, foamiest latte in all the land. The coffee itself was a touch more bitter than we like but we were able to doctor it up nicely with stevia. Cute spot with a lovely view of the surrounding, scenic neighborhood.

Beyond its beautiful aesthetics, the milky layer provided a rich and nutty sweetness that complemented the dark and earthy tones of the espresso. The cold brew was quite the adventure, taking in every layer, one at a time. What started out as subtle sweetness quickly turned into a cacao aroma and ended at citrus tartness. Small but mighty brick and mortar shop in a quaint neighborhood across from a church and lined with other local businesses. Bar stools, lounge chair, work bench, they've got it all. Certainly a hidden gem in residential Knoxville. So glad we stopped by!

Side note the walk up window was so cute. Immediately upon walking in I was in awe. The attention to detail in this shop was top tier design. I tried the Blueberry Crisp Latte. The notes of the blueberry were good. Not overpowering and just the right bit of top and bottom. I love to taste the flavor as a finishing note as well. My daughter had a Vanilla Frappe which she enjoyed. I definitely will return whenever I am in Knoxville.

It was also nice to not feel herded along like you would at a Starbucks or donut shops that happen to sell coffee. It's a great atmosphere. With that being said, be prepared to wait, for a long time. We got there about 10 minutes before opening and were about 30th in line. We didn't get our food until an hour later. Just as long of a line when we were done eating as there was when it opened. We were not expecting to wait that long and almost left, but everyone in line said that it is well worth the wait, so we stayed. I'm very glad we did. We went on a Saturday morning in the summer so we took turns checking out the farmers market just a few blocks away to help pass time. Great move there! We will definitely be back the next time we are in Knoxville, this place is delish.
