My ABSOLUTE favorite coffee shop in the Knoxville area for 6 years now. Coffee is superior and roasted locally by Mahallo. No bitter tastes or artificial tastes. The vibes are my favorite though! It's bright, airy, and surfer vibes in summer but cozy in the winter. Sad they took away the original Flourhead Cinnamon rolls but they have descent house made cinnamon rolls and other pastries.

I adore Polynesian culture & Coffee, so this establishment did not have to do much in order for me to embrace it.... And... they indeed succeeded in not doing very much. It's like they are afraid to be different, to be noticed, to be great. It feels and looks like someone went to Hawaii once, on a short vacation and this is their interpretation.... Bland.... Uninspired... Clean to the point of antiseptic... this is not to say that I didn't like it. The coffee was nice ( And this is what you go to a Coffeehouse for ) but I wouldn't go out of my way to experience either the coffee, the dead calm or the establishment itself.

Had a brown sugar iced latte yesterday and it did not miss! I love how fresh and delicious their coffee is! Also not acidic tasting at all which I love. I wouldn't say I am a coffee snob but I do love a good latte. also love their little coffee house because it's very open and welcoming filled with natural light!

One of the best lattes I've ever remember tasting! I've visited a ton of coffee shops in many major cities (Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Indianapolis) and around the country and the latte I had here was one of the best I've tasted. I usually get a cortado because unlike the latte the amount of milk in a cortado doesn't hide the taste of the espresso. So it was a wonderful surprise when I could taste the espresso in the latte. And the wonderful taste of the espresso made my taste buds shout for joy! It was sooooo good! And the milk was perfect. It had a sweet taste and nice smooth microfoam. The equipment. Mahalo went all out in their equipment. They have a Loring coffee roaster in the back roasting some awesome specialty coffee and a commercial Synesso flagship MVP Hydra espresso machine up front. I imagine their grinders are top of the line as well. The coffee menu is a simple Thirdwave coffee menu (latter, flat white which is an Australian creation, cortado, cappuccino etc) with a pour over or drip coffee option. The vibe of shop is relaxing and cool. It can accommodate singles, couples, and small groups. I love the stone fire place. I really wish Mahalo was in my home town. Highly recommend trying a latte!

One of the better coffee spots in Knoxville, tons of space inside to hang out/ study which is always a plus!

Just got this business page spun up - excited to be the first one on this because we loved it so much! Was excited to meet the Baynes and support their journey into this really cool place. 5/5 - great atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent coffee :) Faves so far: - Cortado (hot milk + espresso) - Hot Chocolate The inside is great with modern touches here and there, very refreshing for this area. I am also thrilled there is an alternative other than starbucks that is closer for the residents and not in the crazy traffic right off the exit. The bakery section was pretty good - hoping for more delicious options to come soon. There is parking in the front and back so you should be good. Get here - post em' if you got em'!

Excellent coffee. Spacious, light, bright environment. small pastry case with savory and sweet items, including gluten-free. Long family style tables with spaces to work. Free Wi-Fi. Mellow music. A point off because you cannot get a larger latte, i.e., more than 12 ounces, and there is a bit of grill smoke in the air from the kitchen in back.

    The baristas hard at work!

I've driven past Mahalo a thousand times, and even remember the labored process of renovations that were done to this building to transform it into a warm and welcoming neighborhood coffee shop....but it took the power going out in our neighborhood on a Saturday morning to finally get me in the door. They have a drive-thru, but since I'd never been before I chose to park and go inside. They are well staffed with friendly faces, and my to-order was put together quickly. Their cappuccino was strong and flavorful, and their Americano coffee was approved by the hubs. I also surprised him with a cinnamon roll - his coffee shop go-to. This was not your typical sugar encrusted, sickeningly sweet pastry - the cream cheese icing has a delicate sweetness and a mild tang, and the pastry itself was tender and also not overly sweet. I don't know if they make their pastries in house, but it was very different than the norm! Nice! I plan to go back again in 2023, and not just when the power goes out this time.

The staff is great. They are super nice & pretty fast. The espresso is delicious. Though, I must admit that the flavor is diluted as a latte. I recommend an iced cappuccino if you prefer a coffee forward drink. I love it with the brown sugar syrup! I like trying the seasonal flavors, especially since they make syrups in house. My favorite right now (spring 2026) is the banana bread latte. The first day we came, the girls behind the counter weren't very nice. Well one of them was, the other wasn't very nice to me and I was kind of taking a minute to think. I wanted their strawberry matcha but they were out of strawberry (so sad). I got a brown sugar cortado instead and two bags of coffee for home. I also wanted a sticker but they were out. The cortado was delicious. Very good drink. My friend got a BOAT (brown sugar oatmilk latte) and that was also very good. I ordered a honey lavender matcha after and that was also very good! Great color on it! The next day we came & two guys were working the counter. They were nicer for whatever reason. I order another cortado. I also ordered first in my group and they actually forgot about my drink. The guy was super apologetic about it and we had a good laugh! I love cafe culture and this place has all the vibes with the really good coffee too! Just upset that they were out of strawberry and stickers
