Ramshackle is the kind of place that gets "handed down". My cousin who was visiting from out of the USA brought me whem I moved to FL. His Pop had brought him, I now bring my friends and their friends have emailed me for the address. For pub food this place is aces. The ambience is good time roadie. Being military brats and world travelers we like to pick out license plates from places we have lived. If you want "health food" be picky if you want healthy for your spirit then dig in. As for the smoking it is outside as is the rest of the world with all the good, bad and ugly. read more

My husband and I eat at Ramshackles everytime we come in to town. His National Guard duty station is here in Leesburg and he always loves to eat here when he comes. Nice atmosphere. The food is pretty much your standard all-american menu. The beer selection is a tad limited for my tastes but they have a couple imported bottle choices so that makes me happy. Their prices are great and the overall mood of the restaurant is relaxed and fun. The only thing I would really change about it is the size. The layout is a bit crowded. And maybe add gator to the menu. Other than that, it's fun and the food always tastes great. We go back every month. read more

Ordered wings for an appetizer along with pickles and fried mac and cheese bites, crab soup. Cheese bites came, 10 minutes later pickles came. Then the rest of the party of 7's entrees came ONE AT A TIME! Sooooo I canceled the wings. Figuring my entree would be up next as i was the only one without an entree. Then after the person who ordered the soup received his entree the soup appetizer arrives. Luke warm at best. So i sit. With no appetizer and no entree. Seems the kitchen staff all decided to shove their heads up one another's rear ends today. Other people in my party were more than halfway done when i say screw it. Cancel the fajitas too. I'm a one and done person. Sooooo hell no I will not be back. The kitchen staff should be fired.....ALL OF THEM. How do you screw up 3 things on one ticket. How do you not know the timing of the items so that they can be delivered to the table TOGETHER!!!!! The expediter of the line should be busted down to bathroom attendant. read more

Overall, good place. I'm from south Texas and the "ramshackle" look, is just what I'm used to in small towns. Albeit, this one is on purpose and a fun idea. I can't vouch for the service of the waitstaff, as I sat at the bar. The bartender was great, attentive, and she was a seasoned veteran. So, no problems at the bar. Food. I've only had three things here. 1. Buffalo Wings. OK not great, but decent. That is speaking of the wing dry with no sauce. Decent fry to the wing itself. If you are looking for hot...look elsewhere. I know Florida and Texas can't be that far off in the spice tolerance meter, at least I wouldn't think so. The hottest, the volcano, is Thai chili sauce. Tasty, but not really hot. So if you are looking for that fantastic wing, keep looking. 2. Ruben. Now, I love Rubens. I've had'em all over, and oddly enough, this little place has an excellent Ruben. The corned beef was awesome! If u know rubens, you know that they are not the most healthy thing on the planet, and this sure does not shirk away from that category. 3. Hwy 27 cheesesteak sandwich. The hwy 27 steak sandwich was also another great hit. It's their version of a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Onions, mushrooms, provolone, and meat are are grilled and melted together in a perfect combination/balance. A belt-buster for sure, but a really good one! read more

The food is mediocre but the lady gave us a good service. I ordered the Jerk Jamaican wings and there was nothing " Jamaican jerk " into it. My girlfriend ordered the Jalapeño peppers and they tasted like a old box. We ate on the patio (nice patio) but when I went inside the restaurant the smell was unbearable, it's smells like urine!! The waitress hated her job. She took our order and basically thew the plate at the table. We asked her about her attitude and she acted like she was on another planet. This place has pretty much been the exact same from the time I was born until now. That's good & bad.

I worked in the area for 6 years and always heard good things about this place, so I finally decided to try it. We were greeted when we arrived and it was pretty full, but they said we could sit anywhere. Our server initially seemed like she was rushing us to order, which was a little annoying, but then we learned that she was waiting for us to put our order in before she ended her shift, so I understood that. She brought our drinks quickly and the server that took over her tables was very attentive. The place has a really cool atmosphere with license plates covering the ceiling and scattered on the walls. They have some cool antique things in there, too, like really old Coca-Cola and 7-Up machines. The menu was stylized like a newspaper, which I thought was a cool idea. The noise level was moderate. People were having fun, but it wasn't so loud that it was unenjoyable. My girlfriend tends to speak quietly and I had no problem hearing her during our dinner conversation. The entire menu is very affordable, as most of the entrees are $10 or less. There's a lot of different options, but not a lot of different types of food. They have wraps, burgers, Tex-Mex, and a few other typical offerings. We ordered the queso sticks for the appetizer, my entree was the Steak Chimi(changa), and my girlfriend's entree was the chicken/spinach wrap. The Queso sticks were delicious and a nice spin on the standard mozerella sticks. My girlfriend liked her wrap, but said it was pretty standard. The Steak Chimi was good. I can eat a lot and I wasn't able to finish everything on my plate. It seemed bland at first, but it then I actually got to the steak that was inside and it was tasty. The chili on the side was a cool thing to add, but the chili itself was generic. I heard they have house chili that is delicious. With those items and sodas for each of us, the bill came out to about $34 before tip. My overall impression is that it's a nice, local place to go to if you don't want to go to a chain restaurant. I'm not really a fan of Leesburg in general, but Ramshackle's is a cool spot if you happen to be driving through. read more

I don't remember the date, and I am ashamed that it has taken me so long to write this review. It was in October 2011... maybe the 16th. We stopped in late at night and had no idea they were ready to close. They fired up the kitchen and prepared us a meal to die for.
