We visited Reardon's Fruit Market and Garden Center and saw this Bistro across the street and decided to try it out for lunch. What a gem!!! We had a conversation with the owner who has degrees in Food Science and Culinary Arts, and is passionate about "changing the world with food." The inside is cozy, inviting, and meticulously clean. There is a small bar area and an area of table seating. Outdoor seating is available as well. The bistro is known for one of its appetizer small plates of deviled eggs. The owner said that the recipe for the eggs is one of the few things he is not wiling to share! Employees and patrons have drawn pictures of deviled eggs that are displayed on a wall space. I opted for the grilled chicken Greek salad. Greek salad is a favorite of mine and I have eaten it from numerous restaurants. By far, this was the best I have ever had. The artful presentation, fresh ingredients, and decadent flavors were a real treat. The chicken was so tender and again, the flavor bloomed in my mouth. The owner brought out a small serving of homemade peach ice cream that had been made the day before with fresh peaches. I simply have no words for how delicious it was. I will let my husband describe his experience in his yelp account, but I will say that after having salmon the night before at an 'upscale' restaurant in Louisville, he commented that the salmon at this bistro "blew it away!" People often say "I will return and try other menu options," when in fact they do not follow through. That will not be the case with us, we both agree that we cannot wait to return! read more

My wife and I were in Crestwood, KY visiting a local nursery just off LaGrange Rd and spied the Crestwood Bistro across the road and decided to stop in for lunch. Once again we found an absolute GEM of a spot just out kicking around. In conversation with the owner we discovered that he has degrees in both culinary arts and food science. His blended knowledge in these areas contributes to exquisite dishes. My wife had an exceptional Greek salad w/ chicken while I opted for a mixed green salad with grilled salmon; easily the finest piece of fish I have eaten in Louisville. It was grilled to perfection with a spice mixture of his own creation which he would not divulge! At the end of the meal we were severed a sample of his homemade peach ice cream. If you prescribe to the old adage that eating out is about the food not the upscale expensive vibe than this place is it! We will be back again soon! read more

Needing a quick lunch after visiting Yew Dell Gardens we stopped in at the Crestwood Bistro. It's not a huge place but service and food were very good. My wife and I ordered a sandwich with pasta salad. No French fries or chips here with a sandwich. The pasta salad rivals any I have had and a refreshing change from the tired , old fries. Both of our sandwiches were top notch. My only complaint is that there are only 3 or 4 parking spots and getting in and out on the road can be tricky. Otherwise it was a nice find. read more

Lived in Crestwood for 20 years and excited to see a elevated menu at Crestwood Bistro. I have had several people recommend over the years and never right time to try. However, I would not recommend. Ordered a pick up order which said would be ready in 30 min. I arrived and I waited an additional 20 min for food. They must of just let it sit back in kitchen, it was luke warm like sitting under a lamp. Paid $50 for a terrible meal, they do not know what risotto is, they literally cooked some rice which was raw through some cheese and chicken in it. My spouses burger was not hot at all!!! These bear no resemblance to deviled eggs from your church picnic. When I called to order I got to speak to the chef he helped me decide what to get & explained the dishes. He curated the most delicious flavorful salmon, rice, and zucchini dish I've ever had in a carryout meal. The meal was a little pricey yet worth it. The portion size was generous. Quaint Restaurant with excellent food by Chef Tim who owns the restaurant. We love the deviled eggs appetizer, salads, salmon, juicy burger, fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken, hot brown with mornay sauce from scratch, and the homemade banana dessert to name a few. The chef is often found saying hello to us if he can sneak away from cooking. He takes great pride in his restaurant, and in his cuisine. The menu has a nice variety and he changes it up to keep things interesting, and often has a special entree to serve. It is open from lunch through dinner usually Tuesday-Saturday. I wanted to like this bistro, I really did. Lots of good reviews online and word of mouth but it fell extremely short of those expectations. First, I gave it at least two stars because the deviled eggs and the children's grilled cheese was actually decent. The rest was subpar at best. Where to start?... We ordered the stuffed mushrooms and deviled eggs for starters and the eggs were good but the mushrooms were horrible, they tasted off, dry, and old. Main dishes were the Flini Marinara, Al Pastor tacos (one of the small dish options), house salad, and grilled cheese (kids). The Flini meat balls were bland and the sauce was over seasoned with spices. The Al Pastor tacos were also bland. The house salad was okay, the dressing was good and no brown lettuce, which is a plus. The hardest part to swallow was the price: Main dishes are over $20 each and the appetizers were also around $12-15 each and you didn't get much for those small appetizers. Just to feed 4 people - only one had the salad - and the two appetizers was ~$150 with tip, no drinks, just water. I am not someone that tries to find problems and reasons to leave a bad review. This place is worth the drive to Oldham County! Nestled right by the tracks in Crestwood, it is a hidden gem in our county. I have been wanting to try it for awhile. Had I known what I was missing, I would have gone early! I enjoyed a late lunch of a Garden Veggie Panini with pasta salad (included). The pasta salad had the perfect amount of dressing and was packed with fresh ingredients. The pasta was perfectly cooked. The panini, although a little soggy on the bottom, was filled with fresh ingredients and a mild sauce that didn't take away from the flavor. Crestwood Bistro is a brand new and just opened local and independently owned upscale casual restaurant. The focus is on locally grown and procured local ingredients. They also employ the students of our community. Everything is prepared fresh. They offer a variety of salads and sandwiches on the Lunch Menu more extensive selections on the dinner menu. Currently, because of the Pandemic their is no indoor dining but they offer on-line ordering for carry out. They also offer gift cards which would make a nice Christmas gift for friends and family. This is a quaint little spot that I've been wanting to try for a while. The parking lot and restaurant are pretty small and in turn if you plan on dining in the restaurant reservations are highly suggested/required and the safest play to make. My son and I ate here on a Wednesday night and I called that afternoon for reservations and it was not a problem. The food was delicious, I had the Shrimp and Grits and my son had the Hot Brown. I had the Banana Foster Cheesecake for dessert. The only reason for three stars is because of the portion sizes, we both left hungry and as described in another review, the dessert was a tiny square but vary tasty. I've seen the lunch reviews and I may try back for lunch sometime when the portions will be closer to what I'm looking for. read more

A truly hidden gem! We went on a night when chicken tikka masala was the special and it was killer! We also ordered the Alfredo, you could tell it was made from scratch and the peas were a fresh burst of flavor. We were with several other people and they raved about everything they ordered. My husband and I enjoyed dinner at Crestwood Bistro for the first time tonight, and you'd better believe we'll be back! I ordered the grilled salmon with basmati rice and zucchini planks. It was absolutely delicious. The salmon was cooked to perfection, and the rice was seasoned beautifully. My husband enjoyed a 3-course meal featuring a taste of Thailand - pork spring rolls, Tom Kha soup, and chicken and seared scallops pad Thai. It was hands down THE BEST pad Thai we've had since moving to the area three years ago. The service was outstanding, and the chef and staff were all incredibly friendly. AMAZING! We stopped at this cute little cafe on our way through town and we're so glad we did! We were quickly attended to. Everything on the menu looked so good. It was hard to decide. We chose the deviled eggs (to die for!) house salad (very fresh, colorful and topped with bacon - yes please!) and the grilled steak panini that came with the most fabulous roasted Brussels sprouts! My family and I were really disappointed with the amount of food served relative to their prices. The Cuban sandwich and rice and beans were a hit for my husband. This quaint little restaurant served some great food! We split an appetizer of the deviled eggs, which were delicious. I had the salmon with basmati rice and zucchini planks and really enjoyed the Thai sauce they used on the salmon. My husband had the duck special and loved that is was a large portion. Great homemade food for breakfast. It's a different kind of restaurant where you order at the counter and then the staff refills drinks from the table. If it's busy at the counter or if it's packed - you'll wait for drinks for a while. They have a separate coffee bar area to prepare your coffee and a few tables outside. We haven't been back yet but maybe when we have more time. read more
