Paella
Saphace A.

My friend had this on her list to try so I made a reservation just in case. It turned out to not be busy. But it was around 7:45pm ish. They have a few parking spots around the building but not many. We found a free public parking lot at the church next door and walked over. A few groups of people were dining in as a guy was singing jazz music. Great vibes! We ordered the paella right away since it was going to take about 30 min to prepare and ordered a few apps: patatas bravas and fried Spanish chistorra (cured sausage). I really liked the patatas bravas. It came out very hot! They added a nice savory sauce on top. They sausage and paella were decent. I've never had paella except one that my aunt likes to make but I thought it was lacking in flavor. I will give them points for presentation though and that they had to scrape it off the pan since it had some crispiness to it which you can choose to have or not. Service was good and fast. Our server was attentive and checked on us to make sure we liked everything. Overall, I liked the vibe. It's a cute place to come back to sit at the bar and have a drink.

We decided to give this place a try and went here for a late lunch... the restaurant is very well decorated, incredibly clean and comfortable and the service is impeccable. We ordered a pitcher of the red sangria and it was very well made. For food we ordered a variety of tapas - chicken, salad, steak, potatoes, olives... everything was incredibly delicious and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend eating here and the prices are very reasonable for a high quality restaurant. I will definitely be back! A++++

What a cozy spot for ladies night or a date night. I tried the white sangria, which was cute. And ordered the mussels and Bomba De Carne. Bomba De Carne was delicious and huge! A lot larger than I expected, inside the fried balls were veal and chorizo in potato. Aioli drizzle on top with sautéed vegetables in the side. The Mussels had red onion, celery, Mediterranean herbs, white wine, whip cream, and parsley. It had a slice of baguette bread on the side. We also had a salad - soo good. We split it because it was a good size portion. Overall we enjoyed our meal.

WOW! How did it take me this long to discover this place? My friend and I went on a Thursday night and it was not packed. There are about 10 parking spots so that was convenient. Here are the items I tried: -Cosmo Cava Cocktail: Cava, Cranberry Juice, Lemon & Triple Sec...DELICIOUS! -Patatas Bravas: literal perfection -Spanish Serrano Ham Croquettes: very good -Bomba de Carne: very good -Chicken & Cheese Empanadas: much better than I expected -Catalan Cream: DELICIOUS Service was pretty good and the restaurant itself is very cute and nicely decorated. Needless to say, I will be back!

Burrata Salad

I was seated right away and service was good. Menu is on the QR code. I asked for a hot tea but the server wasn't sure he had any. They came back with this lovely tea pot and selection of tea bags. It was very nice of them. Burrata salad - the burrata cheese was delicious but the salad was missing a dressing. There was pesto sauce on top of the cheese but that's it. Not very good at all. Yellowfin tuna steak - this was not good. Tuna was okay but the mashed potatoes had a weird flavor. It tasted like refrigerator smell. Yuck. Not fresh at all. Couldn't eat more than a couple of bites. Maybe they make other dishes well but not these two. Gave 2 stars because of service.

The food was amazing. What we had (lamb stew, steak, and papas bravas) was all fantastic. The paella looked amazing and we will definitely be back for that. Someone a couple tables over got ribs that were insane looking. It was quiet and a little dark. Good place for a date night. Looks like a great place to have a shower as well. Takes reservations!

Bomba de Carne

Friendly and efficient wait staff throughout the night. Really enjoyed the tapas: patatas bravas, bomba de carne, and empanadas. Very flavorful.

Beignets

We had a lovely evening this past Saturday with friends at this gem of a bistro! The atmosphere is charming. The front room houses a nice bar, and the back is a surprisingly roomy dining area with an eclectic mix of tables. Lights are low and it is not too noisy. We started with a bottle of the house red, which was delicious... dry enough for the wine connoisseur but still smooth enough for me. We then ordered food in twos, stopping to share and savor before ordering more. I didn't get pics of everything but trust me, it was all delicious. I'll just mention my favorites. If you think you don't like olives, order the starter to see what they are supposed to taste like. The spicy potatoes are crisp and creamy. The crepe was a delicious blend of meats and cheese that was unexpectedly delectable. And the beignets we ordered to finish the meal, with ice cream and candied pecans, left us on the perfect sweet note. The staff is attentive and quick, answering questions and bringing smiles. We will definitely return soon!

Cava...Birthday Drink!

Second time here. Each time there was something not available from the menu. Service is great. The shrimp was very tasty, the bread was not toasted with garlic as shown in the menu though. Wine selection was limited. They were out of the ceviche. The patata bravas are a good option. Not certain if I would return. The menu options are skim. Additionally, not certain why they do not provide real menus, it's not a fast food location.

This is a quaint location with lots of character. I sat at the bar and ate, as they were packed. The bartender was very helpful and recommended the sangria which was an excellent choice! She also helped me pick between the tuna and salmon. I had the sangria and tuna! Both were very good. It was a lot of food and I ended up saving some for later. Would definitely go back to try more!

First things first the food was incredible. I went for the Valentine's Day four course special and…read moretruly every course was a delight. The burrata was so well balanced with the accompanying tomato, the tuna was so juicy and well seared, and the lemon sorbet had me dreaming of lemons for hours after. The food is genuinely worth the price point! If you care though, the restaurant is VERY plain. There is very little personality in the decor, and aside from some unconventional chairs and a tile floor by the bar, nothing really sticks out as pleasing to the eye. I chose this restaurant for Valentine's Day to have a romantic, intimate atmosphere, and the vibe was giving summer camp lunch. The floor plan is very open and super grey, with plain wood tables. Even the servers were in very casual clothing. Any other night this would have been fine, but for Valentine's Day, I wish I had picked something more romantic. Overall I really enjoyed the food here and will for sure be back, just not for any special occasions.

It's a good place to get food with a bit of a Southern edge, plus a good wine list (hence the name) and cocktails. And our meal was good. Everyone found something for them on the menu, even the kids. I got the House Pappardelle Pasta, made with wild boar ragout, confit red pearl onions, roasted garlic whipped ricotta and shaved parmesan. I got a glass of wine too. I'm also a fan of their Louisville-themed wine flights, though it would be fun to see these updated. Our server was pleasant, and we were able to easily book a reservation on their site. LouVino is a good option for a dinner party.

Leave it to my family to find a Latin store in Kentucky. My cousin had to have his Cuban coffee,…read morenot an espresso. Lol. Well, this place had most of the Cuban staples like croquetas and pastelitos. They took advantage of ordering lunch as well for the trip. They ordered a croqueta preparada and a rabo encendido (ox tail) and they were very much enjoyed. I had a pastelito de carne (meat turnover). It was not like the ones in Miami but I could not complain since I was just glad to have a taste of home. They also had all kinds of Latin produce and ingredients. Because of that, the food was a little limited, most of the items they had out were nearing the bottom, and they didn't have many things out. Because of the lack of lack of options I decided to get the cubano sandwich, the tres leches cake, & a drink. The sandwich was massive. I ate one half and saved the other to give to my husband. I wasn't the biggest fan of the ham they used, but my husband liked it all the same. I was a fan of the bread! Not sure how they made it so good and crispy, but it was amazing. The sandwich itself was just okay. The tres leches cake. I really loved the icing (the pink one). The cake was good but I don't think it was moist enough. It was a two tier cake so perhaps that's the reasoning. I got the small one (about $7) and it was easily enough for 4 decent size servings. Overall a cute little local place & I can't wait to go back for bread and other desserts!

That's how I found out about them! One of the staff came over and explained the menu to us. Super helpful and friendly! My friend and I started off with los jugos naturales. Mango and passion fruit. Delicious! Sometimes drinking something sweet compliments eating something savory. We shared all the food: buñuelos, patacón ( it looked like tostones topped with guacamole and different meats), arepa de carne, and sides of frijoles and rice. The sides were large too! I was very impressed with the portions. We ordered too much to share between the two of us. But I'm glad we tried a few things! There was a lot to choose from on the menu. Everything was good. Fresh, flavorful, and well presented. I loved that they played salsa music in the background and had Spanish language channels on the TV. It's such a great ambiance that I can't wait to go back! The food was so good. And they offer items that I've never tried before. Love it here! It's kind of tucked off the usual strip of businesses in Gardiner Lane.
