The food is pretty good, at least the burgers and shakes, I haven't tried any of the other menu items. The service is fairly good as well. However, the prices are a little on the high side. Honestly, the biggest factor to me is that there is a bit of a fly problem. I've been here a few times and each time there were multiple flies buzzing around the place. I mean I get sometimes you might get a fly in a restaurant but this feels like more than a stray one getting inside. Is it that hard to put out traps or something? read more

The customer service is perfectly fine. It's nice that they have chairs to sit in while you wait and it's fast. But it's not worth waiting for. Their food absolutely sucks. Every time I go back to try something different, most of it ends up in the trash. Burnt, sloppy, and just doesn't taste good. I'm going to give up on stopping here despite everything else being fine. Called ahead for pickup around 6pm on a Friday night. Quoted 5-10 minutes. It was our first time there and we didn't understand the pickup process. We waited in line to at the pickup window but they didn't accept payment so we had to wait again inside to pay. The meal was delicious and we would definitely order from there again. The food is consistently excellent. The double Ranch burger with cheese is divine. If you love crispy light airy crinkle fries, this is the place! The staff is friendly and helpful. I was lost, left my phone at home, and they helped me find my destination. Real nice! They have plenty of parking. Seating inside and lots of tables outside also, some under cover for rain. It's been many years since my original review, and I decided on a whim to revisit this when in the neighborhood. Wow... my review was written when lots of newer places were going up, but the one thing I didn't account for was that, some time between then and now, was the Ranch *also* improving over time. The food, which was never the problem, remains a solid choice for good burgers and the fixings at a darn reasonable price. The facilities have been improved and aren't dingy anymore. The service is still hit or miss at times, but nothing like the hit or miss swings it was before. The vibe there is much improved as far as overall workplace culture seems to be. I'm harsh in my reviews, but I'm also complimentary where people are doing above and beyond. I'm not ashamed to admit this place has proved my previous review as obsolete. I hope they continue on this trend, as it's nice to see a business turn things around and surprise me in a good way. read more

Stopped last night after dropping my better half at a meeting, first time in years, as I've moved away. Double Bacon Ranch burger (with everything) & fries were great! Satisfyingly sloppy, but not to the point of being unmanageable. Unlike others, I love crinkle fries. Get the grandma's recipe tartar sauce-well worth it! I didn't get a shake this time, but I remember they were good. Kind of awkward parking access with the odd traffic pattern and road closures, but didn't stop a constant stream of customers and take-out. Tables alongside for dining al fresco. I love the Ranch Drive-In. It's a little slice of tradition in a town that's rapidly getting bigger and in danger of losing it's down-home charm. The prices are a little high, but the burgers are really quite good, in my opinion, as are the milkshakes, sundaes, and just about everything else I've ever had there. I love the Ranch Drive-in! I have eaten here since I was a kid and have heard stories about when my dad ate here in high school. It does not disappoint. I want to give it five stars based on history alone, but while their shakes and burgers are a solid five their fries are a three at best. They will make your burger to order. My four year-old ate her whole burger and fries and wanted more. In a world of chain restaurants the Ranch is a nice change of pace. Who knows, you may love their fries. read more

My husband really wanted a burger, and he said it was "alright", but since I'm a vegan and my daughter wasn't thrilled with her fries, I can't see our family returning. My husband and I love coming here for a good solid burger. I get the Bacon Cheeseburger and my husband gets the Double Bacon Burger for the perfect meat to bun ratio for each of us. You do have to walk up to order and wait outside, there's parking though. The staff is very friendly. read more

I had to make the drive from Seattle to taste it for myself and I was not let down! From the walk-up window I placed my order for a double Ranch with cheese and hung out in that warm summer sun feeling good. My order came up and i noticed there was some weight to that bag lol. And with the large size - the burger was suppper messy. With the shredded iceberg lettuce, ketchup and mayo, sandwiched between flimsy buns, the whole thing nearly fell apart. Despite the crumbling of a burger tower I had - it was not bad. It was certainly what a drunk fool needed; yet, I wouldn't come back, specifically for this burger. Feeding 4 adults and 1 hungry 11 year old boy for less than $55 is a small miracle nowadays (unless you're eating crappy fast food.) All 5 of us REALLY enjoyed our dinner tonight. As a matter of fact, I'm writing this review in their parking lot at the moment. I got the Bacon Double Ranch and Onion rings and it was great. My girlfriend ordered the BLT and a coffee, loved it & the other 3 all got cheeseburgers (one with bacon I believe) and every one of them plowed down with a smile. Very good service! Finally got to try this place after driving by it a few times. I got there and ordered at 11:30. Be sure to know this isn't a 'fast food' place. Took about 15 minutes which was fine. This was before lunch rush so plan accordingly. The Ranch Burger was good and pretty large. The fries were hot but not crispy and kind of greasy. I'd go again but just get the burger as it was good and a meal in itself. Wouldn't get the fries again. Plus, I asked for fry sauce. Charged .69 cents for it. Think this is the trend to nickel and dime. After ordering a burger, fries and a pop which wasn't meal priced it was a surprise to see the charge. The Ranch Drive In has been in business for about 65 years. It's been passed on in the family for several generations. When I lived and worked in Bothell, most of my lunches came from there. Their Ranch Burger is top notch. They also have a steak burger. After being away for almost 20 years, I visited the area. When I saw the Ranch was still in business, I had to stop for lunch. I've never been tempted to swerve from this order because why mess with perfection? There's a good amount of parking, which is a big plus in that area. Ranch burger is pretty great, but basic. There's no 'pop' of excitement on the menu but everything tastes good and leaves you satisfied. The only thing I actually hate about Ranch Drive-In is their fries. They are basic crinkle fries that come from frozen. It'd be way better if they were fresh cut or at the very least, if they had fry options for frozen ones like curly fries or tater tots. The crinkle fries aren't that great and always seem dry inside. The burger sauce is pretty good, heavy on the pickle. The burger patty itself could be a bit better. It's so thin that I've had it a couple times with a dry texture to it instead of juiciness you'd expect. I do highly recommend the crispy chicken sandwich, add onions. It's pretty darn tasty. The onion rings are good, but not battered, and also from frozen. They go well with the tartar sauce. What they do well here are the shakes. We've probably had every flavor they have and they are all good. Highly recommend the butterscotch or the caramel, but the fruity ones aren't to be left out! The only time I can tolerate the crinkle fries is when they are dipped in the milkshake, probably rehydrates them and makes them okay to eat. Go during off hours, aka not lunch or dinner, otherwise you'll be waiting a while for food. We've had them mess up a couple times and give other people our orders but they've always been helpful and sorry when we need the stuff replaced. I do miss when the place was staffed by the high school kids. It just seemed like better service if that's not too crazy to believe. Adults working a burger joint seem to dislike their job and not want to follow the rules: wearing masks properly, changing gloves when switching tasks or touching money. read more

I got home and dove in! The burger was good, although not life changing, and the same goes for the fries. I drove all the way here from Lakewood....had dentist spot in Seattle, but always look for my old favorite eateries after my appointments. On a lazy Saturday on the violent state psych ward one of my co-workers and I would either talk about guitars or hamburger places...as I lived in Seattle 26 years, he was from south sound/Tacoma.
