Located at the glades plaza where TJ max and Michael's are located you can find rancheros as a hidden gem in one of the corners. Menu offers authentic Colombian and they have some MX dishes as well. We ordered the bandeja paisa (Colombian staple) plantains with guac and local regional sauce and the chicken breast with rice. Everything was fresh and delicious. Service was outstanding as well. Amazing breakfast as always! Our server was lovely - friendly and attentive. The cafe con leche is the best anywhere - rich and perfectly balanced. The pandebono - to die for! My husband and I both got the carne y huevos and the steak was ultra tender and so flavorful. The arepa is perfect - crispy edges with a soft center and piled with delicious salty cheese. My boyfriend wanted to have Columbian food, so we went to Rancheritos. The restaurant was tiny, but was eclectically decorated. Our waitress took a while to greet us, but finally did, and took our drink and food orders. I ordered the Ropa Vieja, and my boyfriend asked for the Churrasco. My small Ropa Vieja was pretty disappointing. According to the menu, It was supposed to have green olives and capers, and it had neither. It had black olives! (The vinegar from the olives is what elevates the plate) It still tasted ok, but not what I was expecting, or looking forward to. It was served with a hearty portion of rice, and a flavorless salad. The Churrasco was was an impressive size, but served over almost completely raw onions. My boyfriend said it was delicious, however. Our drinks were never refilled, and it took forever to get the bill to leave. It's doubtful I would come back here. read more

We stopped by for a quick lunch. The place was packed. I ordered their shrimp ceviche cocktail which I'd had and liked at one of their other restaurants in Boynton. And a sweet arepa with cheese (de choclo con queso). The cocktail was a bit disappointing. It was very tiny bits of shrimp chopped up with lots of onions (not my fave) mixed together with their sauce -- similar to a remoulade. It was hard to find the shrimp. The arepa was okay -- sweet corn as I like it covered with curls of white cheese. My husband had their tuna salad and added a roll on the side. Mixed in with the tuna and a bit of mayo was lettuce, celery, carrots, arugula, and onions. He said it was good. This restaurant is on the back side of the mall. It's closer to lens crafters. Parking is in the lots out front. Prices are not bad . The menu is extensive. Some Spanish language helps, but isn't totally necessary. I'm glad we came. Now we know. read more

I have had food from this restaurant many times, so I am able to write an honest review. I totally loved this place, it has been the closest to good Colombian food, but they have dropped the ball the past couple of times I have ordered. The portions are way smaller than what I had received in the past, and the last four or five times I have ordered from them (I always order the same thing), the meat is significantly smaller each time, paper thin and is absolutely burnt. But it got worse when I bit the meat, and IT WAS ROTTEN!!!!! This is unacceptable!!!!! It's just so disrespectful, disappointing, dishonest and unhealthy!!!!!! read more

The slowest service in the world the food is decent but it takes for ever to get your food

We had lunch here on a Monday. We didn't have to wait to be seated; party of 4. The food came out fairly quick. The staff were friendly and attentive. Food tasted fresh and authentic. The dish for two was more than enough for 2 adults. I enjoyed seeing the quotes on the wall, the vintage cameras on the wall and place mates on the table. This is my second time here and I have to say that I truly love this place. It's a Colombian restaurant but they have a bunch of Mexican and Cuban dishes and beverages so plenty of food choices to choose from. I had their beef liver here last time, which I love but it's so hard to find someone who knows how to make it right, but they nailed it here. Today I ordered it again, but this time with scrambled eggs instead of an arepa because I'm trying to focus on my proteins instead of carbs. But their arepa is also delicious, I had it last time with cheese on top. The servers are very nice and even though the service is not too quick, it's definitely worth the wait! There's always at least 5 tables when I come here and everyone is always talking highly about the quality of the food. Came over for Mojarra Frita. My mom forgot to changed the side for a salad and "was too late" to change it. The fish is rotten, tastes like crap, sour, horrible. Sent it back to the kitchen and the server (which doesnt even know the menu and worst service ever) said "we tasted the fish back in the kitchen and it tasted good". Really? I love Rancheritos, but please go to the East Boca Location. I've ordered from this location 3 times now, and it's always a miss. Recently decided to finally give in and get the flan de queso.. first, it's pre-made, second, it's moldy. The empanadas at this location seem to be double cooked, as if they're the ones from the previous day dropped in oil for a "refresh," similar to restaurants like Checker's. This results in a very greasy and hard empanada. I love their hot sauce, but I wish they would hold the same quality as the other location. 1 Star, because it's 3x an issue, and they never offer a refund, or try to fix the situation. Very clean restaurant located in a shopping center. They have few tables outdoor with umbrellas. Mondongo is pretty good and pandebono is okay. I am from NY and being around great Colombian restaurants, the serving size is smaller to what am accustomed and pandebono is below par. Moved to Boca 2 years ago and this is one of the few latin food chains near me. It was great at first but over the last 6 months quality has declined. Not sure if its a change in management, staff and/or due to food shortage but whatever it is its not good. I ordered the churrasco today and it was not it, it was a very poor quality steak not cooked in churrasco form. It was thick, fat was not even cut off and chewy. Sadly this will be my last time ordering from here. :( read more

Probably from refrigerator to microwave, without any flavor, I ordered the carne asada, once again warm and without any flavor whatsoever the steak was very thin about 1/16 of an inch or so, send back and asked for steak and eggs, eggs were over cooked and the sauce was more like a water down version of a soup, once again the steak was as thin as you can get. Driving home from The Keys & hopped off The FL Turnpike. Found this little spot & it was less than 2 miles off of the Turnpike. Walking up to it, we started to rethink our decision but once inside it was packed. We snagged a table & ordered. Stopped in before 5pm on a Wed. night and was only the 2nd table seated. (The young man who seated me wouldn't speak to me but my young waitress was much more friendly & she was efficient.) I started with a very good Mojito served in a mug & also had a good glass of Cabernet (there was just one choice) with my Cuban Ropa Vieja, which was delicious (shredded beef in red wine sauce with green olives and capers) and was served with rice, sweet plantains & a small salad. I started with 2 beef empanadas, priced at just $1.45 each, but was charged for just one, because of happy hour, I assume. Was only billed for the one cocktail also, so I assume the wine was also covered by the happy hour. Also had the Arepo de Choclo con Queso, a sweet corn cake (like a pancake) with queso cheese on top. It was rich but very good. The cozy dining room is nicely decorated. One wall is designed to make it appear that you are outside, & mounted on the other wall are many old-style cameras and snapshots of (I assume) family members. I love when I go back to a place and they make me update my review to a more positive one. I've been to Rancheritos twice after my first review. Did not write this right away because I wanted to make sure the change was real and consistent. Today I experienced it is. I went at lunch time, around 1:30pm. Immediately greeted buy a guy organizing and cleaning the tables. None were dirty this time, and all customers seated had their meals and voiced out how good their food was. I was ordering to go so, I went straight to the counter. Not even 5 seconds and was helped by the lady there. Not only did they have exactly what I wanted, she also offered me options (chicken or beef for empanadas, arepas as a side to another order, lemon for flavor, etc). The Aji (empanada sauce) was so much better than that first time I went. It had heat, and flavor of all the ingredients in it. The Empanadas also had the right amount of filling and thankfully did not taste like old cardboard. Very impressed, and happy, with how good they've turned this place around... Plus the great, friendly service. I'll definitely be going back. read more
