Listen, I'm from Chicagoland. My extended family lives in Opp. Chicagoland is arguably the BEST place in the US for Mexican food. Rancho Grande is right up there with Chicagoland Mexican restaurants. Their rice and beans are incredible. As is their taco salad, fajitas, chips and salsa...I could go on and on. They survived COVID in a very small town which is a testament to how amazing their food is. Every time my family comes to town, we go to Rancho Grande with our Opp family. This was our third time eating here as we have family that lives here. Everything was good all 3 times, this was our first time eating in on a Sunday. Very reasonably priced and for a good amount of food. My husband and I are able to share full nachos and still be full. I've gotten something different every time and all of it has been good. New to the area and staying in a hotel close to town. This was about the only place we found open on a Sunday evening, and we're glad it was. Service was great, the waiter was extremely busy with takeout and sit down orders, yet still made us feel well taken care of and never left us waiting. Don't believe any negative review about this resturant!!! Whoever wrote them doesn't have good taste. The food is EXCELLENT...and I travel the Southeast eating at a lot of Mexican places. Quaint restaurant in downtown Opp. Second time here and am still impressed with this little Cafe. Margherita is good...salsa is delightful ...food and service is superb. Like hearing the Spanish conversations from the kitchen accompanied by low level Mexican music playing. read more

Worst service I've ever received. Walked in at 11:30 and beat the church crowd (about 10 min later two large tables arrived after us) After waiting an hour our food was not out and salsa never refilled. I could not even get someone's attention to tell them we were leaving. They were not busy when we got there so I don't know why we were ignored. Worst service I've ever received. We literally waited 10 minutes for drinks. Another 10 minutes for someone to take our order and then 45 minutes for food when there were not 10 people including the two of us in the entire restaurant. The manager said he would give us a discount and then when we got up there to pay he had changed his mind. I told him how awful it was and he angrily gave us the discount he had promised but we will not be back regardless. read more

I ordered the chicken chimichanga with beans and rice for dinner, and I was very happy with my meal. The plate arrived quickly and everything was hot when it arrived.The chicken had a good amount of seasoning in it, similar to taco seasoning I believe, and it was good. The beans and rice were both seasoned nicely also, and the fresh salsa was tasty. I'd definitely eat here again. read more
