Such a vibrant and highly colorful restaurant! We walked into the door with many people waiting, luckily they were all leaving which led to my party being seated immediately. The service was top tier starting with the usual cantina style chips and salsa. We ordered from the lunch menu and the portion sizes were massive! We stopped in Bonifay Florida overnight and discovered a nice and very welcoming Mexican Restaurant just North of I-10. Bonifay is relatively small and the dining options are somewhat limited; however, we chose an attractive looking building that had several vehicles parked all around their parking lot at about 2:00 PM. Upon entering the restaurant was well decorated with bright colors and vibrant music! We were greeted immediately and seated in a large dining area with about a dozen people enjoying a late lunch. We ordered our lunch, comprised of a lunch combination (recommended from the menu) and an "House Speciality", a hot and spicy burrito! Both were delicious a very filling! The hostess and the servers were all very nice and attentive to our overall enjoyment of our meal. We will definitely stop again the next time we pass through this area! read more

Cancan Mexican Grill is a good choice for Mexican food in Bonifay, Florida. It is also not far off of Interstate 10 if you are traveling on the highway and want a good option not far off of the Interstate to grab a meal. I will say that on the Sunday that I was here, it was busy, but the service was friendly and consistent and added to an overall pleasant dining experience. The menu is pretty much what you would expect. Not a bad thing. I went with a burrito and it was pretty good. The ambiance was pleasant and it had an upbeat vibe. All in all, not a bad lunch. There isn't much in Bonifay, so we were happy to find Cancun Grill. We were a larger party (work thing) and they seated us quickly with chips and salsa and took drink orders. Food was good, drinks were good. It's a nice spot with a good selection, if I ever find myself in Bonifay again I would go back. read more

I'm about to complete my cross country trip from Los Angeles to southern Florida. I've been to Tucson, Houston, New Orleans, etc... this place had the best food of my whole trip by far. I ordered a grilled burrito, vegetarian. The burrito held together (which is often an issue). The flavors, wow, I had forgotten to put salt on it. I forgot the salsa they gave me. So the place is fun and festive and shows lots of promise. There's cold beers on draft. Niiice. Chips and salsas are decent enough as was the picante salsa you'll have to ask for. Chorizo queso was okay. Tamal was pretty good. ...but the veggie fajitas or err onion ones were ridiculous. Was basically was a pile of onions and about a 1/6th a small green pepper, 1/4th of a tomato, and maybe two mushrooms sliced up, maybe. ...at least it came with some rice and beans and was able to fill up. I would recommend this place if you are driving through Bonifay, there isn't much else to eat there. We stopped by and the building was very clean and had nice decor we waited about 30 seconds until we were seated and as soon as we were seated our waiter came and took our drink orders and another young man brought us our chips and salsa. The chips were great the salsa was ok nothing fancy mostly tomato. My friend drank all of his sweet tea it took a little while to get a refill. We ordered off of the lunch menu and I got a chicken quesadilla with the side salad. The tomatoes were very fresh and my friend got the chicken chimichanga with grilled chicken instead of shredded. Everything was hot and seasoned nice. Not soggy plenty of cheese sauce also great prices for the portions you receive we both had leftovers. It only cost $20 for us to eat there read more

Cancun Mexican Restaurant offer drink and local Mexican food. The avocado dip is great to go with chip. The pre-item are the chip and spicy salsa. Eat as many as you want. After a day of work in long hour, it is good to grab a drink and food here. The atmosphere here is great with Mexican music. At lease showing this small town is alive. I have order the Sirlion steak and grill shrimps. The have two side but I use it for double rice. The shrimp is grilled and marinated. Overall the service is good and we like it. Got sick eating there twice! Quality has really gone down hill. The guacamole doesn't have avocados in it, it's a paste. The servers are so busy that they don't care or listen. This place "accidently " caught on fire twice! That'll tell you how ethical the owners are. But back to the horrible food masqueraded as edible. They served me a tomato with white mold on it & enough oil on my plate that you could drown a small horse! This is a cheap place built on quantity not quality. Out of all the Mexican restaurants that share the same name in the Florida panhandle area of Bonifay and Chipley, my friends and I chose the one in Bonifay because of the higher rating on Yelp. Yelp has Cancun's located on US Hwy 90 but it is on FL Hwy 79 close to the interstate. Yelp might have changed their address by now or soon. Anyway, driving up, the building is decorated with all colors of lights that makes Cancun seems festive. The restaurant was really clean and atmosphere is that of a Mexican restaurant. My selection was the 911 fajita burrito. The menu does not describe this burrito accurately and I thought that might be the case after I ordered. The menu says fajita steak or chicken, sour cream, and covered in cheese dip. It forgets to say jalepenos, bell peppers, and onions in burrito with hot salsa on top. It also did not come with sour cream and my waiter totally forgot about my request for sour cream. I can understand that everyone forgets. What I can't overlook is that the waiter did not come back and check on my table until it was time for the check so I didn't get to remind him. The hot salsa on top was extremely hot and I love spicy foods. The jalepenos were sliced into humongous slices with seeds that I didn't dare try them. But other than that, my burrito was delicious. The fajita seasoning on the chicken, bell pepper, and onions mixed with the cheese dip made it a delectable treat. The burrito also had beans in it and was humongous. I couldn't eat it all at Cancun's and it was very good warmed over. I don't know what it is about sweet tea from a Mexican restaurant, but I have to say that sweet tea is what I always look forward to the most at Mexican restaurants. It is always very sweet and it just goes well with the spiciness of the Mexican food. The salsa Cancun's serves was good, mild, and tomatoey, but nothing special. To me, about all the non-chain Mexican restaurants taste very similar except for some exceptions. Cancun's is just the same. Nothing is going to surprise you about Cancun's. It is what you can expect with a Mexican restaurant. You are going to get salsa and whichever entree you order is going to be similar to about any other Mexican restaurant. I would say that it seemed like my chicken, peppers, and onions in my burrito either was seasoned better or had more seasoning. Either way, if you are looking for somewhere to eat in the Bonifay area, Cancun's is a very safe choice. read more

After a fire last year, Cancun's is back. It's absolutely stunning. The decor is very vibrant...... but the food was amazing! They have added so many new items to the menu. We had steak and chicken fajitas, enchiladas verde, steak sandwich and queso. The servers are great! On the way home my oldest said the servers make her feel special. Jennifer was our server today! No complaints...nothing they could do better (food or service)...and to top it off, the place (including restrooms) was very clean. I only mention this because, let's face it, I eat at A LOT of Mexican restaurants and none of them is very clean. In fact, a lot of restaurants could do better on the cleanliness of their restrooms. My girlfriend even came back to the table and commented on how clean it was. I ordered a chicken chimichanga and wasn't sure it would be any good (a lot of places bring it out with a soft shell), but it was delicious! The shell was crunchy and the portion size was good. The chips were good (this is important -- not all chips are created equal), too. I believe my girlfriend got fajitas. If she doesn't like something, she's not afraid to let you know and she had no complaints. This place happened to be along our route on a road trip, so we won't likely be back. She doesn't want to be bothered with having to take your money and is especially rude if you do a call in order. If you can overlook her then you are in for a treat. This place was amazing. I had the giant chicken burrito and it was awesome. My husband had the chili relleno and he said it was the best he ever had. It actually was a giant stuffed chili and not just a a little chili on top of beans and cheese. I would totally recommend this place.
