Updated review, six years later. Rancho Grande keeps expanding and excelling, and a new year brings a new menu (from about September 2025 according to our server). The Colonel had the quesabirria, which he said was delicious (if slighy greasy, but that's the dish imho, rich and drippy!) I got the Tequila Bowl (no booze despite the name) with Carnitas. I also got a very tasty small top shelf Margarita, which came in a cute Tiki-style glass and had a blue skull adorned toothpick holding "more fresh fruit than I ate all month!" The place is looking spiffy with beautiful glass artwork lighting, and ceramics on the walls. Bathrooms are very clean, modern, and smell actively pleasant. A solid 4. Good service, good food, clean and nice atmosphere. I wish I would've taken pictures of our dishes, but my wife and I were so hungry, we dived right in when our plates got there, which wasn't too long after we ordered. The complimentary chips were good and the salsa was just ok, because there was little flavor or spice, kinda tasted more like tomato sauce but we know very few people out here knows what hot is or likes their food spicy hot(as confirmed by some WV natives). I asked them for some hot salsa... well, because... no pica, no vida(no spice, no life), which was better and definitely had a good kick. I also tried the elotes de la calle(street corn)... it was good, but not great. It could have used some more flavor but I'm used to way more toppings and prefer it in the cup rather than on the cob and it was missing butter. We both got the enchiladas supreme, which comes with 4 enchiladas: one cheese, one beef, one chicken, and one bean; The part I missed(because I assumed instead of reading the description thoroughly), was that it was smothered in a cheese sauce and we were expecting enchilada sauce. To our surprise, they were really good and we found ourselves quickly done with empty plates. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and we will definitely be back. Second visit went just as well, but this time we asked for enchilada sauce instead of the cheese sauce and it was really good too... same result, empty plates. read more

Use to love to eat here but since they moved locations this is the second time we've eaten here and the second time we have left unhappy. Staff is short with you and about half rude. Drink weren't refilled. We were the only one in the restaurant and the waiter ignored us when we asked for cheese dip. We ordered a pitcher of margarita on the menu it was $26 when the bill came they charged $36 and tried to argue with us about the price. He said the menu price was wrong but didn't inform us. He ended up changing it on our bill after arguing with him but we wont be back. read more

This used to be my favorite place. This used to be the only Mexican restaurant in Beckley worth anything. However, a few months ago, we ordered cheese dip and got straight up water. Like yes sometimes it's runny, and the hotter it is the thinner the consistency, however this was straight up cold, milky water. My friend called them out on it because there's no way anyone would want to pay for something that they can't even eat, and since then it's been nothing but rude glares, and they haven't gotten my order right once since then. There's no point even asking them to fix it anymore because then they either mess up something else or completely skimp on something. Keep in mind we eat here at least once a week, sometimes up to three if it's a holiday or celebration of some kind. read more

They knew what you wanted before you knew what you wanted! When you came in they gave my party chips and salsa and some kind of ranch. The service was awesome as they were attentive and nice. I ordered the burrito patron and it was huge for a good price. I took it home and had it for later. The iced sweet tea was great as was the previously mentioned chips and salsa. The seating at the booths was comfortable and nice. I even enjoyed the scenery. With the added touch of the TVs (in Spanish-cool!). I would recommend this place to friends. read more

I am a local in the area and there are multiple Mexican restaurant options in the area. I tried to come here after a few years of not coming. The queso was watery I do not recommend. The salsa has no spice to it and came out on In a bowl that looks like that one bowl you have in your house that is scratched up and stained. My meal was cold and they charged me for the tortillas that are suppose to come with fajitas . I am disgusted and would not reccomend go to el mariachi or campestres read more

I can't say enough good things about this place! We are always greeted and seated within seconds of walking through the door, no matter how busy they are. The food is the best I've had, even after living in South Texas for several years. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and wonderful even with my young, sometimes loud children. When I would take my son to karate, this place was right next door. I would always sit at the bar and drink good cold beer and eat chips and salsa and watch Spanish language ESPN. Sometimes after karate we'd go back down here and eat dinner.
