Probably visit Sprouts 7-8 times per week and usually have a good experience with my shopping. The store is always clean and it's easy to find a shopping cart that actually works. Two stars for being a "health food" super market in a town that isn't all that enlightened regarding the subject. I grew up in San Diego and got to witness Sprouts from the beginning. First it was Boney's, when things were on wire shelves like an old school co-op, then it became Henry's, and eventually Sprouts like it is today. Except back in the 90s, they made their own hummus in house, as well as a number of other items. Btw their hummus was the best, and I've had it all over the world. Fast forward to the mid 2000s and I lived in LA, where there was a Sprouts, a Trader Joe's, and a World Foods all within a short distance from one another. Sprouts had changed, but I could still get most of what I needed there. I only went to the other places for specific things, but Sprouts was my go-to. However they stopped making a lot of things in house, their deli sandwich were pitiful and expensive, and some of my old fav items were no longer there. Fast forward another however many years, and it's the only health food place in town. I don't know what changed, but it's different. The prices are a lot higher compared to what they were vs. mainstream and other health food stores. Probably the "Lodi Tax". They don't seem to have as much variety. And the ready made, microwave at home dishes are paired down to a limited variety, and are super expensive. Now there's the deli. They have this butternut squash dish. But they cook it with onions, garlic, and peppers. Not at all the flavor profile that goes with that squash. I couldn't eat it. Had to throw it out. Even my less picky friend spat it out. Why no cinnamon and nutmeg? Everyone likes that, and expects it. Then there's the deli meat. I have sometimes been able to find real sliced roasted turkey breast. Not the slimy stuff that you get pre packaged that is basically all the garbage parts of the bird blended up and poured into a mold with added water and sodium like pretty much all lunch meat. I mean real turkey breast. I know they have it. But depending on who is behind the counter, you either get someone who knows the difference (not hard to tell, just look!) and will happily help you out. Or you get someone who is clearly not happy to be there and doesn't want to put in the effort to just look, and will rather argue with you and pretend to not know what you are talking about. Which leads me to the whole processed lunch meat thing. If you look in the deli window at what claims to be 100% turkey breast, and is in the shape, and is as big as an actual turkey (or maybe a large chicken), and you slice it, and it is slimy and has tiny bubbles and no muscle grain in it, it is not an actual turkey breast. The turkey would have to be the size of an ostrich to have a breast that big and uniform, and you would have to be a very unobservant, or very lazy person to not know the difference when asked for real roasted turkey breast deli meat, despite what the manufacturer labels it as. So because of the shrinkage in items and the ongoing battle with the deli counter, and the skyrocketing prices, I kinda just stopped going here. Honestly, for a single bag of groceries here, I can get three at TJ's if I take the journey to Stockton. Yeah they don't even have a deli. So I guess sandwiches are out for me. But I'm saving money and getting better food items by avoiding this place. Sad to say it, but they gotta do better, and they need better people working there. read more

This sprouts sucks so bad me and my family came in to order sandwiches when this guy with a man bun and blonde hair behind the counter had a horrible attitude from the start when I told him I wanted a sandwich he gave out the biggest sigh and eye roll and asked me what kind of bread. Then when the rest of my family came over to me and I told him I wanted another 4 sandwiches he gave out another eye roll and sigh at that point we told him never mind and asked for his name to tell the manager about his poor customer service. He proceeds to tell us his name was Tony and when we told the manager he told us his name was Tony the manager said oh he lied to you guys his name isn't Tony. Sprouts get it together. read more

Sprouts is one of my favorite grocery stores in town. It's clean, well-organized, and easy to shop, with consistently fresh produce, a great bulk section, and a solid meat and seafood counter. The deli is a hidden gem, their made-to-order sandwiches are fresh, filling, and you can't beat the $5.99 price. It's also one of the very few places in Lodi where you can find wellness-focused foods and supplements, which makes it even more valuable locally. It's an OK Sprouts. The quality of the deli and bakery food varies from week to week. The carts are grimey, the produce is mostly good but sometimes find better quality at Raley's for things like apples and grapes. They've got lots of bin stuff I probably should try. Sprouts is one of the better grocery chains around. The store is clean and well-lit. The employees are well above average - friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about most things in the store, but even when they don't know the answer, they'll find out for you right away. I appreciate their bulk bins so you don't have to buy packaging every time, and they even will subtract the tare weight of any container you bring in to fill. My biggest complaint about Sprouts is that they change their bulk offerings seemingly at random. Today I was looking for bread flour in bulk, and they didn't have it. Bummer! It won't stop me from shopping at Sprouts, though. read more

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! Came around 6:30pm for the Deli to get a sandwich. I waited for 15min for the guy to come back from his lunch or break. I was ready to make an order but he said the Deli is closed. I asked what time do they normally close and he said 9pm. Closing up shop 2.5 hours early because he is "alone" and no customers at all is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. read more

The deli section to order sandwiches had absolutely no pens or pencils handy. I also did not have any either, I actually had to ask multiple staff if they had any pens available, we finally found one. I ordered two sandwiches and it took some time for my sandwiches to be made although I was still Shopping. I came back to the deli and it still was not done. I moved very close to this location so frequent it often. The staff at the checkout are always friendly. Sometimes it takes a bit for someone to come over and help me at the deli, but they are friendly as well. I like the variety of things they offer at the deli. Some of my favorites are the honey nut chicken salad, roasted Brussels sprouts, roasted turkey, and chicken parmesan. I also really enjoy the ready-made meal with grilled salmon with bernaise sauce, but the sauce was missing the last two times. Very odd! Yes, it is fairly pricey to shop here. But then at other times, the sales on what I need make it reasonably- priced. I'm glad I have this store so close and convenient now! read more

Got to the deli at 8:45 pm. I saw two staff, one a manager, both saw me and instead of acknowledging me, they went to the back. I stood there for 5 minutes waiting so I ended up calling the store and a nice gentleman working in the vitamin section told me he would get me someone. That gentleman ends up walking over and informing me that he spoke to the manger who said that the deli closes at 8. I didn't know this because a week prior my husband went at 9:30 pm and got the cheese I needed. So what changed from a week ago? It would have been nice for either of the 2 employees to acknowledge me and let me know they were closed instead of ignoring me and hiding. I appreciate the nice gentleman that had short, gray facial hair and worked in the vitamin section. He was very accommodating and nice. I'm glad to have this Sprouts in town. Based on my experience, I will say, I understand the bad reviews about service and about the deli. However, they have lots of options for unique items that other locations don't. I was able to get some new soda flavors to try and an organic French dessert I can't find anywhere else. Also, the prices on things like salads and sushi are comparable to other stores in the area and quite reasonable. I've been going to this strouts for awhile, but the end of 25 it's seems like they got a different distributor or something because a lot the shelves aren't fully stocked. Prepared meals and food are almost non existent. Most refrigerated items are missing or baren. The fruit and vegetables (why I started going) have not good, I've started buying produce elsewhere. Recently, only go in for a few items and it's hit and miss if they have them in stock. A frustrating experience from what it used to be just a few months ago. read more
