We are from Utah and we have dozens of Mexican restaurants in our area ... really good Mexican restaurants and this place more than measured up. I had a California style burrito and it was delicious and their salsa bar ... YUM! I have no idea what is in the avocado salsa but you could pour that stuff on a shoe and it was taste better than you would ever imagine. I highly recommend this restaurant. We visited this restaurant on a Saturday night while on a mini weekend vacation. It was very crowded but we were seated quickly. The food was delish and cheap, however, the service was not good so I can not give all stars. They were out of my favorite item "Chiles Rellenos" which met they were out of poblano peppers!! Our food came out not displayed pretty but just thrown on the plate as if we got it ourselves at a buffet. The servers/waitresses were all over the place and did not have a designated area for each of the waitresses. They were running in every different location, therefore, we were not checked on accordingly. Well we were never checked on after she took our order and our food came out. This place is DISGUSTING. I took my fiance to Shenandoah for his birthday and a local recommended we try this place for lunch while we were in town. I ordered the fajitas, which took a while to come out, but looked good when they did. The fajitas are HUGE, but they gave me two very small tortilla rolls, so I requested more. They brought out two more very small tortillas, AND CHARGED ME FOR THEM!! The portions are huge so I could have saved some for later, but there were flies EVERYWHERE, and I was literally eating with one hand and swatting flies with the other. Needless to say I lost my appetite pretty quick, which is ashame because the few bites I did take were pretty good. DON'T GO HERE -- I think the health department needs to make a visit. read more

My in-laws, wife and I ate here after a visit to the Luray Caverns. The restaurant was fairly busy and our waitress was hustling around to a lot of tables. We got great service and the food was very good. They had a variety of lunch specials for around $6. I had the steak fajitas and they were very good and brought a lot of steak and vegetables. My wife had a quesadilla and she said it was very good. My father in law had the Vaquero and really liked it. Great find, and would definitely go back. To be honest, this should be a 1.5 star, but either I'm stupid and can't figure out how to give a half a star or it's just not possible. Before I go in on how disappointed I was with the food, I did think that there were some pretty cool and fancy sombreros laying around. Now let's get to the nitty gritty, the food. The portion sizes were big. My suegra ordered the carne asada, the steak took up half the plate (it was huge), it was also undercooked. I ordered the tacos al pastor, it came with 3 tacos, with rice and beans. I am a huge fan of tacos al pastor, there was no cilantro or anything else in the taco, it was just marinated meat. The meat was not spicy and there was no hint of pineapple, no pineapple chunks or not marinated with pineapple either. You need to put a lot of pico de gallo on the rice because it is super dry. The beans weren't the end of the world, but they could of used crema, they were a little dry. My girl got the pollo loco, which came with two chicken breasts and has a little kick to it. The service we received was subpar. We were welcomed and seated as soon as we got to the restaurant, but they never checked on us after we ordered, I was not able to get a refill on my drink. read more

Had meal with friend at this restaurant recently and was disappointed. While my order was very good, the wait for it was much too long. It was not crowded at all, in fact, there were only about 2 or 3 other customers in there. The complimentary chips were plain, dry and boring. They're new salsa bar is okay, but the cups are too small, and the salsa is way too watered down, especially the white salsa. I used to love their white salsa, but now it just tastes and looks like white water. Horribly disappointing! The staff at the time I was there were sitting in booths with their kids instead of paying attention to their customers, which is obviously the reason why my order took so long. The management and staff have gotten too confident and relaxed to run a good customer service oriented business, and it shows. This is actually the 3rd time in about 3 months that I have encountered these same problems with this restaurant. I can always cut someone or place a break once or twice, but 3 strikes, you gotta be out, because you're showing me what you are, and it ain't working for me. Probably won't go back for awhile. Great Food Great Service. We were greeted when we came through the door and we found a table right away. The place was clean and well taken care of. The menu was great and had lots of options. There guacamole was simple but amazing as well as there salsa (which is hot). My wife ordered the vegetarian option chalupa and i ordered the tacos diablos. The chalupa she said was amazing and the tacos were incredibly good and seasoned and cooked to perfection. They even had a deal on fajitas for two people for 15.99 it was a special but thats pretty awesome. The margaritas were also out of this world. Enjoy! On our way out of town after tubing down the river for five hours this place looked decent enough. The service wasn't that great and there were a few mix ups as far as our food order. The food was worth the miscommunications. The chips were awesome and not too salty or greasy, the salsa was a little watered down but we ordered guacamole and queso so the salsa was last resort. The carne asada was pretty fatty and a lot of trimming needed to be done. The basic tacos were decent. And the Texas salad with steak, shrimp, and chicken was phenomenal.
