I ordered a new toilet at the store (somehow it went as I ordered online). On a promised date I received that delivery will be delayed (1 to 3 days?). My call to call center outside of the USA didn't helped or explained what is the problem. Then 2 days later one part of the toilet arrived (the bottom one, the bowl). Finally one more day forward and the second part of 2 arrived. I will not use delivery from HomeDepot any time in the future, highly frustrating with our plumber was not able to install it on time. read more

I shop weekly at the Vista store on Melrose- gardening is my hobby-I am retired. I brought home 2 poinsettia plants about 10 days ago. today, after the rains, I went outside to check my 100+ potted plants. The poinsettias are full of white flies and they migrated to about a dozen other plants and the large container I mix my soils in. when I talked to the manager on duty, he offered to refund the two poinsettias ($10) and didn't care about the soils, other infested plants, or ongoing issues. DONT BUY PLANTS AT HOME DEPOT. I asked him to check the rack of poinsettias and he said,"Wow, they are infested, I need to get these off the floor". DONT BUY THEIR PLANTS. read more

I went to HD today to purchase Fire wood. Come to find out they store all their wood outside. Ok, except it's been raining here since before Christmas. Wood was sold out in all other stores. HD had plenty, except it was out side UNCOVERED Even tho there was a large Yellow tag that read KEEP DRY, store inside. I was ready to spend $100+ today. Thank you to the one employees who came out and helped me opened one of the wrapped pallets and dig down inside for dry wood. Clearly this isn't on the employees, this is lack of care on the management. Store management is not even reading the storage instructions for their product. I am working on a floor project right now, and Zach from the flooring department is 10/10! Helpful, friendly, knowledgable, and (most importantly in my book) transparent about the whole process. Zach answered all my questions, provided great information, and listened then suggested relevant services like you would to a friend (without being pushy or too "salesman-y"). I've been a loyal Home Depot customer for over 20 years and have always purchased my supplies here. Unfortunately, my experience this past weekend was one of the worst I've ever had and left me feeling ignored and discriminated against. My son and I went to Home Depot to rent a truck and purchase lumber for a backyard project. When we arrived, the employees who were supposed to assist us showed no interest in helping. We were told to scan a QR code on the screen and complete the entire truck rental process online, with no guidance or assistance. The process required face recognition using an ID. We tried multiple times using my ID and face recognition, and then tried my dad's as well, but nothing worked. We spent over an hour attempting this. When we asked employees if there was another way to complete the rental--such as manually through their computer--we were told no and that we had to do it ourselves. No one offered help or tried to troubleshoot the issue. We felt completely ignored. What made this even more frustrating was that we then went to Lowe's, where we were welcomed and helped immediately. Renting a truck there was quick and simple--I only needed to provide my driver's license and car insurance. There were no issues, and the entire process took about 30 minutes. After renting the truck from Lowe's, we returned to Home Depot to purchase lumber. We asked an employee for help retrieving 16-foot wood. The employee appeared upset that we even asked. We were told someone would be radioed to help us. We saw a forklift return, moved our cart out of the way thinking help had arrived, but the forklift was parked and the employee walked away. No one came to assist us. After waiting several more minutes, we had to ask again for help. While loading the lumber, remarks were made about us using a "Lowe's truck," which made the situation even more uncomfortable. Had we received proper assistance from the beginning, we would not have needed to go elsewhere. This entire experience was frustrating, embarrassing, and upsetting. The lack of help, dismissive attitudes, and unwillingness to assist made us feel unwelcome. After over 20 years of loyalty, I expected much better from Home Depot. read more

Did not deliver on promise. I ordered a fridge and paid for removal of old fridge. However the crew claimed the fridge was too big and they were not equipped to remove it. However no such limitation was brought up during the booking. So they left the fridge outside of the kitchen and we had to call a separate service to get it removed and then move the new one in the proper location by ourselves. read more

Very nice home depot The employees are extremely friendly and helpful at this location. We entered from the garden section as we do so normally shopping at these kind of stores. So parking here is literally bonkers! One way in and one way out. We parked by the garden area, but just heads up... drivers don't seem to stop at a stop sign and continue to drive... soooo in point. Stop. Look and be a good driver. Pedestrians and your children, watch out! Garden area was well stocked and plants are happy looking and healthy. I'm becoming a plant mom weekever I see plants. Keep your receipts and your pots, if something happens to your plants you can exchange them for new ones. The store itself is laid out a bit confusing however, lots of employees it seems like they are everywhere so you can ask. We didn't have a problem finding anyone to ask. Well stocked for summer BBQs already put together, so if you need one! Great prices too and plenty of selections to choose from. Our checkout Gal, was I believed named Debbie. Super kind and just all around awesome, patient, and a joy to chat with. My kiddos enjoyed asking her questions and she was very patient and seemed to enjoy the conversation plus all the help by my kiddos. haha! She definitely gets the 5 star A++ customer service here. Thank you for making our day and making sure we had everything. One of the nicer home depots I've been to imo. Didn't see any equipment rental, might be on the other side which was another enquiry to see made by my son. Seemed odd not to see any but definitely ask. Being in more of a rural area, those things are needed by farmers, landscapers, or even homeowners. Reason I knocked off a star, I feel they really need to do something about the parking lot and the fact that myself and my kids literally almost got hit with a passing car not even stopping...shook me up a bit but it's the whole parking lot. Kerol at self checkout- CALM YOURSELF Quit being rude to the confused old ladies. Ripping things out of her hands, let alone my boyfriends hands. We were literally just getting 2 cans of monster, she saw my boyfriend trying to straighten out the money, I guess it was facing the wrong way (normally the machines take it anyways), she then rushed over and grabbed it out of his hands, proceeded to say "No! You need to do it this way!!". And while she did that i guess where we put our cans she didnt like so she picked both up and slammed them down, then again proceeded to fiddle with our $5 and put it in the machine. Even other guests were telling her to chill after 2 back to back instances of her flippin out. She started venting about how someone was naggy or something by making an imitation voice of someone when they told her to calm herself. She said "I got it under control!!" With big sighs. Im not sure what has happened to this location but its terrible now. First the keep expired sale signs up but do not honor them,(when I asked manager he blatantly told me I need to read the sign). Then they have sale sign up on item mulch stating red brown and black. After paying I realized the price was too expensive and when I went to customer service I was told it was wrong product. When I said I grabbed items from the palate infront of sign they said it was wrong. Come to find out the other brand with EXACT packaging and color is in palate right next to it and somehow half the bags were the other product. When I told manager, he shrugged his shoulders saying I need to read signs. This manager didnt even have decency to acknowledge me when he came up to the service desk when I asked for him. He asked another employee if he was still needed while I standing right in front of him. And he was a manager! I explained that in 2 days I seen pricing incorrect, either misplaced or with appliance expired, regardless its deceptive advertising! don't usually leave Yelp reviews, but the outstanding customer service I received in the tool rental department absolutely deserves recognition. On June 13th around 8pm, I walked into the tool rental section completely unsure of what tools I'd need to mount my TV in my new apartment. I was expecting to wander the aisles lost, but instead, I was greeted by a team member in the tool rental section whose name I unfortunately didn't catch. Even though the tool rental department was apparently closed and even thought the employee remained nameless, the service they provided was absolutely extraordinarily They took the time to ask the right questions--what kind of wall I had, what kind of mount, how big the TV was--and patiently walked me through everything I needed. Not only did they recommend the correct tools (which ended up being exactly what I needed), but they also showed me how to safely use them. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to care that I left confident and set up for success. Thanks to their help, I got my TV mounted perfectly first try, no issues. Moving into a new place is always stressful, but this experience made one part of it way easier. Major props to this employee that worked in the tool rental team for their professionalism and kindness. I'll definitely be coming back for future projects! My wife rented a carpet/upholstery cleaner today and she brought it home and it didn't work. She tried everything and I brought it back to Home Depot three hours later and the night manager told me he still has to charge me because I didn't bring it back right away, even though we're supposed to bring it back by 6 PM and I brought it back at 5:45 PM. We typically shop at the one closest to our house but needed a ladder rental. The tool rental dept. is their saving grace. These guys are very helpful especially Eddie. This review is regarding their online only orders and is not a reflection of the Vista store. I ordered a Traeger grill online on April 30. UPS delivery tracking said it would arrive May 3. It didn't. It arrived May 6th badly damaged. UPS was supposed to pick up the damaged unit but this time the tracking link didn't work and they came when I wasn't home. Called customer service and they arranged a new pickup order. UPS was supposed to call but didn't. Called customer service again. Was told they arranged for pickup from HUV. Called them and they said Home Depot had submitted the paperwork wrong and they cancelled the order without notifying me or Home Depot. Called customer service again. Now I'm assigned to the Resolutions Dept. Received an email from UPS with another tracking link that didn't work. On May 20, UPS showed up unannounced and picked up the damaged unit. Another company shows up to pick up the damaged unit the next day. Meanwhile, I had ordered a replacement grill. Home Depot was charging me for two installations. Called Customer Service and got the second installation charge removed. I asked Customer Service to please make sure it wasn't delivered May 11 since I would be away. They said they would send a message to their warehouse. The new Traeger grill was left on my driveway on - you guessed it - May 11th, where it sat for 3 hours before I got home. I will never ever order any major item through Home Depot's online service again. read more

Today I need to transfer a sofa. I looked up some prices and found home depot had better deal than Uhaul!The home depot near my house didn't have any more pick up trucks. Home depot website showed the only store that had pick up truck was this Vista store. So I called to reserve it first because it's the last one available. The whole process was pretty easy. The price for the flat bed pickup truck I rented was $19 for the first 75 minutes. After that it's $5 per additional 15 minutes. I picked up the sofa from La Costa. Then I dropped it off in Escondido. There's some traffic jam on 78 in the San Marcos section so it took a little longer. I fueled up in the Chevron station. It's nice to fuel up there cause I can use credit card to pay and let the pump decide when the tank is full. I ended up paying $34 cause I was 45 minutes over. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE IS TERRIBLE, i was just hung up on 3 times in a row while trying to find a yes or no answer to the availability of a certain type of Christmas light. I usually have a mediocre experience at this store but this time was bad. The different people answering the phones were less than nice and very unsympathetic and continued to endlessly place me on hold. I ended up taking a trip to check on them anyway and didn't find them in the messy, limited, and unorganized holiday section. Save yourself some headache and go visit the nice people at lowes instead. I ended up being answered first try when i called them and found exactly what i needed in their very organized holiday area. The item they delivered 05/17 was damaged. Driver said I could refuse delivery, he would take it back and reschedule delivery of an undamaged item. Rescheduled delivery on 05/22, they brought back the same exact busted up item as the first time. The driver just took off. I call and Customer Service says "Online Orders" are handled differently and separately from walk-in orders. I agree. Walk-in customers can return to the store angry, get up in your face and create a public scene. Online customers like me, who haven't had a drivers license in 12 years are SOL. They are using senior homebound shut-ins like me to unload all their busted up products because we have no recourse. I am a previously Homeless Veteran facing eviction. This shelving unit from HD was to organize my storage unit so maybe I could avoid eviction (recent hoarding therapy graduate). HD said that they would come and pick-up the damaged item. All words, NO ACTION. So visualize this during this Memorial Day Weekend. HD profits are priority 1 at the expense of homeless veterans and seniors. read more

I was sent to this store by the oceanside store to purchase an item on sale that they ran out of, and I specifically asked whether the sale price would be the same at the Vista store, and customer service rep at the oceanside store told us they would honor the price.....and I left without purchasing anything and wasted my time because this vista store refused to honor it. Saturday is always madness especially in Garden, BUT the cashiers were so fast & friendly that it didn't seem like a big deal at all! Although I didn't see any workers in Garden Section because I'm assuming they were all in the back, however the cashiers & lot attendant were fantastic! Since my grandma is elderly she's not quite as fast as everyone else, so it was nice to see the cashier not rushing her because the line started to get longer. She was also very friendly & helpful because my grandma also had to make a payment on her Home Depot credit card. Everything was quick, efficient, & friendly! Another perk was my mom, grandma, and I were amazed at the endless varieties of flowers, price, and the quality of the flowers! They loved them so much they bought many flowers when we only came for succulents! Once I go back to HD, I am going to get the names of one of the cashiers and lot attendant because when my grandma was on her way to driving the handicap cart inside, the lot attendant saw her and decided to not only put it away for her, but escorted her to the car as well! Totally incompetent. I ordered a dishwasher, they came and installed it on Friday and then said it was broken and would have to be replaced. They said someone would call on Monday with a delivery time Tuesday to replace the defective one. No call and no show. It was bullshit. Long story short, finally got customer service on the phone. No replacement available, no way to order a different one due to issue with their credit card system. They had me go to the website to order and was unable to include parts and installation due to an issue with the website, so was unable to order a replacement.
