The lack of knowledge. Six years ago (2018), my son (who was about 18 or so at the time) saw Dr. Paletz because he was complaining about a discomfort while urination. Long story short, my son said that Dr. Paletz couldn't find the source of the problem after many tests. The urine analysis ordered by the doctor did show microscopic blood in his urine along with protein. The doctor showed little concern or urgency regarding the finding. Obviously, my son isn't a doctor so he had no idea whether or not that was normal substances expelled by the body, but since the doctor showed little concern then he believed there wasn't anything to be concerned about. Last year (2023), my son was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy. Two of the tell-tale indicators of that disease is blood in the urine and protein in the urine. The other markers are age (teens to early thirties), and race (European or Asian decent). My son fit four of the criteria for this disease. This doctor must have been completely oblivious to the existence of IgA Nephropathy because not once did he refer my son to a Nephrologist. This disease could have been caught much sooner had Dr. Paletz referred my son to a Nephrologist. Don't go to this doctor. Seek help elsewhere.

I found my choices VASTLY reduced regarding practitioners in my area. Had some urinary issues last year and went to an office where the care was monstrously substandard. Recently, my symptoms reappeared and insurance tried to send me back to THE SAME OFFICE. I consulted the HealthNet website to try to find another urologist who wasn't 40 miles away or the office where the previous horrors had taken place. Dr. Paletz was fairly close by and had the highest ratings of all urologists on the list. I called my primary physician and had her office refer me. A few days later I got approval. I called Dr. Paletz's office and made an appointment. The morning of the appointment, my car breaks down and, luckily, I was able to borrow my mom's car to take the trek to Inglewood. To make a long story short, because my phone's 4G went kerflooey about an hour before my appointment, I am GPS-blind, cannot find the place and wind up driving around Inglewood for a half hour. I'm hopelessly late to my appointment when I finally ask a woman in a car next to me if she knows where Centinela Hospital is. She hems and haws, then, finally, consults her phone and has this "A-ha!" moment. She tells to follow her in my car and that she'll get me there. "It's a little tricky to find" she says, "Follow me." She leads me all the way back to the medical center and, from her window, waves me towards where I need to go. I blew kisses at her (she's watching in the rearview) and she gives me the thumbs up as she drives away. Angels do exist. Flustered, I make it to the doctor about 20 minutes late. The staff ladies are understanding but encourage me to fill out the paper work "as quickly as possible". I'm writing so fast I imagine the characters I scribbled must have looked like Thai, but I get it done and I am taken right in. First thing I do when the doctor enters is profusely apologize. He tells me not to worry, putting me instantly at ease. Dr. Paletz then goes on to ask me a number of questions and performs an examination. As it turns out everything seems just fine. Impressions: Dr. Paletz explained things thoroughly and I did not feel at all rushed. His bedside manor is exemplary and he has a sense of humor. This made my trip to the urologist a pleasure. I was happy that he's judicious with regard to prescribing medication (I got none, which is great!) and, dare I say, I almost felt like I was dealing with a member of my own family: and I mean the GOOD side of the family. If you are looking for a new urologist, at least from my experience, you cannot do better than Dr. Lawrence Paletz.

He even made a nasty comment to my dad while he was speaking to the receptionist. This behavior is very inappropriate and I don't understand why he still has a job. What is said could be classified as sexual harassment because of his choice of words. When my dad had questions about his case, this doctor told him "let's not go in circles", instead of explaining to him what his plan of care was. If any patients has questions regarding their own care, they should be answered kindly and the procedure should be explained effectively. This doctor is a urologist that should learn how to explain the reproductive system and problems that occur, and if he doesn't know how to explain, maybe he should go back to school and learn something! Again, this doctor is rude, impatient, and has the worst attitude I've ever seen with a healthcare provider. I do not suggest going to him AT ALL.

We asked that she be directly transferred to Little Company of Mary in Torrance. They lost the paperwork for the transfer, then they released her and directed us to our own Dr. We finally got to LCOM Torrance, and the Dr there said that she shouldn't have been moved without a medical transfer directly from Centenilla to LCOM. We explained to her cardiologist that Centenilla hospital didn't even offer that option and that we were directed to her Dr office then to LCOM. Now my mother in law has been waiting two days for a medical transfer from Centenilla hospital to LCOM after her PCP recommended her to be transferred. Someone cancelled her medical transfer, I am in contact with her primary care physician's staff to find out who cancelled her medical transfer. If it was Centenilla hospital then I will personally sign the legal documents filing a lawsuit against Centenilla hospital.

I have been seeing Dr. Malhotra for the past 7 years for reoccurring kidney stones and since 2019, I never had them anymore because of the excellent and exceptional care he has given me all of those years. Dr. Malhotra is very warm and likes to get to know his patients not only physically but also emotionally. He tells everything his patients need to know to better their health and cure their health problems. He gives wonderful care to his patients because he cares for them like his own family. So therefore he not only cares for his patient's medical conditions but also listens to them and gets to know the person behind their diagnosis. He's very passionate about his profession and patients. He believes strongly and so do I that happiness starts with good health and well being. He has been taking wonderful care of me since 2019 and it's a pleasure to be with him in all of our appointments together in all of these 7 years. Honestly if Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique were playing it wouldn't surprise me one bit. On two visits I overheard patients mentioning how dark it is and on both occasions, the front desk rep indicated they notified the building management. It's been 2 months and it's still dark. None of our appointments have received a "text reminder". I'm a calendar fanatic so this does faze me, but if the front desk says we'll receive a reminder text and it doesn't happen, someone dropped the ball. I gave the front desk rep a heads-up and she explained "my co-worker handles Dr. Ahmed's text reminders; I'll let her know." I'm not confident that's going to happen. Not pleased with the phone system, it's rare I can reach a real person on the first try. I do leave messages, and have received a return call, but most other occasions I end up calling again hoping to win the live person lottery. Button up the details and one could get over having to pay for parking. There's a Redondo Beach location that would be my first choice (free parking too!), but it seems our doc doesn't have RB hours. It's not a joy to have to make the drive here, but again, if the details were fine-tuned, I could overlook the drive.
