I paid $2568 for brakes, rotors and a starter & battery replacement, which I did not authorize or have the price discussed with me ahead of time. They then had the nerve to try to charge me an $85 "convenience fee" for swiping my DEBIT card! When I refused to pay that, he suggested I WALK (in the rain!) down the street to the bank! I asked him can't I just drive my car to go get the cash and come back?! He told me he "can't let me do that" LOLLLLL!!!! So me, a cancer patient, walked in the rain to the closest ATM - just to find out I couldn't withdraw that amount from an ATM! I walked back, and asked can't you just remove the convenience fee?! This is a debit card, not credit! He said no! My son in law had to leave work and bring me the cash! When I got home, I searched the parts cost for the year/model car I have... guess what? They DOUBLED the price of the parts! Not only that, but they DOUBLED the price of the labor (according to Kelly Blue Book's free online labor estimator)!!!!! I will be reporting them to the Consumer Protection Agency and spreading the sorry news as much as I can to save other people from being RIPPED off by RANDIE'S!!!!! read more

I have tried my fair share of mechanics in the past and it seems that it is getting more difficult to find one who is trustworthy or who will take the time to listen. I had seen Randie's Garage on Chamblee Tucker Road for years because they are practically in my back yard. I decided to give them a try when my Acura's clutch started to fail. I dropped the car off in their night lot, and the next morning I got a courteous and friendly call from the owner himself. You are not a number here. The quoted price for a new clutch plus installation was reasonable and seemed like a fair deal...especially compared to dealer pricing. I often say that you can tell more about a business when things go wrong, because people's true colors come to the surface. This story has a happy ending, but it started out with a unforeseen problem. I picked the car up on a Friday and to make a long story short, the master clutch cylinder died over the weekend making the car inoperable. That item was not what was quoted on or replaced with the clutch, but is related. Why would I still give Randie's 5 stars? Because, Randie warranties his work and is incredibly honest. When I called him Monday morning he listened to what I had to say, and I was not too happy at the time. He then promised that the issue would be fixed... without costing me a dime more. He was personally interested in making this right because his name is on the sign and he takes pride in what he does. The solution included a tow to the garage and a brand new master clutch cylinder. True to his word, I did not pay a cent more, and the car drives great. Try to find another garage that stands behind their work like this... Good luck. I am now a repeat customer who feels like he is treated with respect, appreciation, and fairness. It is extremely rare to find these qualities in auto shop. I was here a few years ago and liked them and referred friends to them and so I returned to do my 100,000 tune-up. I asked to be told in advance what everything would cost prior to approving the work. My estimate was $1,082. My total was $1,092.68. I could live with the $10 difference, but was irritated me is that I was not told in advance that there is a 3.5% upcharge for using a card. This added $38.24 to my bill. When I'm already spending over a grand, that is absolutely ridiculous. I could have paid in cash had I known. And then to be double talked that it was my labor price was reduced to cover it. Then why was that not explained upfront. Don't hide things. Don't change things. Don't promise to make it up next time as I don't know that I'll do any repeat business after this. The lobby is full of memorabilia and signs and on the window, in the upper left corner is something about cash deposits, it made no sense to me and beside it, a spreadsheet of the credit upcharges. But at eye level when you come in to drop off your car is the Mastercard/Visa Logo's. If you want to charge a fee.. put a label on that sign.. FEES CHARGED. For having asked for a price upfront before authorizing any work, I still walked out with $48.92 less in my pocket. I went in and needed a cat converter for my 4runner. They quoted me around 675 dollars 450 or so for the part and 225 or so for labor ..... Now the converter prices are all over the place so i can't complain i don't know what one they were going to use one that cost 450 or one that cost 120 .... but the labor is nuts i went to a shop and it was 50 dollars in labor and 200 for the part (i got it myself at auto zone). It took them 30 min to get my truck up and the new part on reset my check engine and i left and passed my emissions. Just my experience not mad just thought id share. read more

Best auto repair center for women - I've been going to Randie's Service Center for a couple of years now. Randie and his staff are awesome! The prices are fair and they are great at explaining the issues with your car. Now, I've had my car for sometime now and pretty much know it inside and out. I've been to shady mechanics who try to take advantage of you because they assume women know nothing about cars. I've never felt that way at Randie's. They are honest and professional. I've tried other places to save a few bucks, but it has never been worth it. This is the only repair center I will go to...period. read more

While their hours are not the best, the service makes it totally worth working around. It seems that they are closed on the weekends and they leave at 5pm but if you can get there during the day it's worth your trouble. My wife and I are new to the area and had not found a mechanic we could trust. We'd taken our vehicles to other places in the area only to be left feeling like we had been taken advantage of. Then we found Randies. She needed brakes on her van...badly. We called on Monday morning they had it in and diagnosed 2 hours later and we were picking it up at the end of the day. It was easy. The owner himself called to give me the estimate, the guy I spoke with to give payment was friendly and helpful. To make things even better, the price was reasonable for the work done. At no point did I feel pressured, upsold or taken advantage of. I think that I've found myself a trustworthy mechanic. read more
