These guys are so honest and knowledgeable! My gas cap failed emission inspection and then a code was produced (my check engine light was on). I bought a new gas cap and headed over to Keener's. Steve installed my gas cap, reset the code thingie and told me how far to drive and how fast and the light should reset if that was all it was. THAT WAS IT! Steve didn't charge me for his time. Honest mechanics! Dropped off my 2003 Honda CRV today after hearing a screeching sound whenever my car was in idle. I called right when they opened and they were able to take me in right away! I received a phone call a little over and hour later from the mechanic informing me that I had an issue with my belt. The mechanic said the belt was structurally intact and looked new but was responsible for the sound. He said he sprayed it with WD 40 which eliminated the sound but informed me it would come back eventually. He told me I could replace the belt to eliminate the sound permanently or I could pass on replacing the belt as it was still functioning properly and brand new. Definitely a mechanic I will be back to visit as I know they are not trying to stick me with random charges for parts I don't need. read more

Ladies listen up! You are safe at Keener Auto Repair! They will not over charge or try to trick you into extra services. I called yesterday explained my issue. Steve was very pleasant, proposed a solution and offered to check the price of the part and give me a call back. He called back in less than 10 min with a fair quote. I already knew how much the part ran for and I was soooo happy he didn't try to over charge. I dropped my car off this morning, got a call two hours or so later to come pick it up. He explained what he did, I paid and he sent me on my way. Smooth and pleasant transaction. I have tried several shops in the area and none compare to the service I received at Kenner. I have not used Keener's in about four years (before my Yelping days), but I have referred three of my friends to him...and they tell me he is still doing great work. I like his business enough that I am writing this review...better late than never! Keener's Auto Repair is a small shop where Steve (the owner) does a lot of the work himself. Sometimes one forgets how great it is to talk to the guy that actually does the work. No intermediaries to get in the way and screw up the communication. He seems to be very knowledgable, his pricing fair, and I judge him to be dead honest. He solved a couple of tricky fuel problems on my Dodge truck, and did a great job of explaining what the issues were...and what my options were. Two of the people I sent his way were women. I went to Keener because of the reviews on yelp when my car (2006 Ford Escape) had a sudden loss of acceleration. I dropped off my car after hours and asked that someone calls me prior to work. Steve (I think that was his name) called me promptly around 8am the next morning. What I loved was that he gave me three options for repair and asked me how long I planned to keep the car. He explained the problem in regular language, didn't throw around big intimidating auto words. He told me to think about it and that he'd be around for any questions. When I came to pick up the car, running late on a Friday afternoon, he took the time to open up the hood, show us the issue and explained more details about the car. He then let us pick his brain about potential used cars to think about, if I decide to trade in. All in all awesome place, never once felt ripped off or duped. Steve's integrity is evident from the moment you meet him, and he will walk you through any complicated issues that may come up with your vehicle. I love yelp.... If it wasn't for yelp I would have never met Steve at Keener Auto Repair... I took my Honda in yesterday with clutch problems that we have been dealing with for two weeks. I got a really good quote on the phone and figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to try a new place. As soon as I walked in I met Steve. He's a straight up, no nonsense kind of guy. I told him what I thought (was told) was wrong with the clutch and left it there for the night.. Got a call around 10am that it was fixed. When we went to pickup the car, we found out it was something else and much cheaper. I was so nervous but excited until I tried it out myself. It drives like a dream now! All I can say is that, this was the BEST experience ever. Steve actually spends time to explain everything that's going on with the car (diagrams too) and what they fixed. :-) read more

We've been using Steve Keener for our Ford Rangers for about a decade. He took care of our 99 Ranger until it died and now he takes care of our 05 Ranger. He's always been thorough about what needs to be done and he always gives us a prioritized list so we can map out what services we'll need over the year. He's an honest mechanic and he won't BS you. The shop is small, so you'll usually need to leave the vehicle overnight, but he does good work and we highly recommend him for modern OR vintage cars. read more

I took my truck to Keener to diagnose a problem I couldn't figure out. It could have been several things and they found the issue and fixed it, they could have raked me over the coals just in finding the problem, but they didn't. Their rate was very reasonable and the price they charge for parts was right on for what I saw online after the fact. They also found another issue in the engine they fixed at no charge while they were in there. I've never had a mechanic do that. The only problem is they aren't open on the weekends, but everyone needs a life I suppose. I don't know if their webpage communication works, I tried to contact them that way and didn't hear back, but whenever I called they answered right away. They did two axles, battery cables, an oil change, and spark plugs for less than pep boys wanted to do just one axle. More important they did a good job and fast. Anytime I need anything in the future I'm going there. read more

I called to get a price quote on a headlight bulb replacement and the guy on the phone was like "really" before I could even mention what type of car I had and the the bumper has to come off for the replacement. His sarcasm and attitude was a complete turnoff and I will never take my business there. read more

Recently had some car work done here. Keener was able to get it fixed for literally 1/3 the cost that other nearby stores were estimating, and I couldn't be happier with the service. The work was done very quickly and throughout the whole process Steve took the time to carefully explain what went wrong, what caused it, and what he did to fix it, all in very easy to understand terms (but without feeling like he was talking down to you).
