At the time of my appointment, I requested some time to think about how I want to proceed with payments since the office wanted me to purchase unusually expensive products. About a month later, I received a text message to clarify how I would like to proceed with payment, which I appreciated. However, I shortly found out from my insurance the office pre-emptively used my insurance benefits without my authorization prior to them asking how I would like to proceed which was super shady. When I tried to clarify the situation, the office backtracked what they originally said. Trust. lost. Very unprofessional. I found the communications unnecessarily microaggressive and distasteful, would not recommend this business.

I've been coming here for at least 5 years, and normally it's been great--but my last two visits? Not so much. I ordered Rx sunglasses and didn't get the original lenses. Was told they don't do that, which confused me because I've been getting the original lenses along side my Rx lenses for the previous 3 sunglass orders. Most recently, when I went to pick up my glasses, they couldn't find the case. I got handed a generic one that didn't even fit properly. Ask for another one, and they tried to hand me a soft sided case. And a lens wipe? Nope. "We don't do that anymore," I was told. The office used to give you a bag, a small bottle of lens cleaner, and a fresh lens wipe-felt like a little gift each time. Not sure if it's tariffs or what, but something's changed.

Costco Optical Review Rancho Cordova…read more I highly recommend Dr. Dora Szymanowicz at Costco Optical on White Rock Rd. in Rancho Cordova. When I went to see Dr. Dora Szymanowicz, I had already visited Kaiser to get my 2020 eyeglass prescription and my contact lens prescription. My purpose for going is that I was not happy with my vision with my Kaiser contact lenses and fitting in 2019. Since turning 45, I have required multi-vision rigid gas permeable lenses instead of mono-vision rigid gas permeable lenses. Apparently, I am a complicated case because Costco is the third place that I have tried to get someone with the proper expertise. Dr. Szymanowicz was very attentive to my needs, listening, assessing and considering my input as a lens wearer for 30+ years. She prescribed two options and when they came in assessed again. We had to try one more time and then they closed because of COVID-19. I was able to figure out and finish the last tweaks to my orders with the Optical Department. I am seeing better now than I have in the 4 years. I am very excited about this and highly recommend Dr. Dora Szymanowicz. I plan to go back for one check when her office opens again. As you probably know, a customer has to deal a lot with the Optical Department for payment, ordering and picking up orders. This can get very tricky if you have a complicated situation like I did. I want to mention how wonderful the employees that worked with me. Jackie and Heather were always so helpful. Isaac went above and beyond to make my many experiences successful. I had to purchase, pick up and return several times. Thank you for your great customer service.

My husband and I thought we'd be proactive and take care of some much-needed eye exams, along with picking up two pairs of glasses. Simple enough, right? Well, upon arrival, we were told that surprise, there was no optometrist onsite. You see, instead of a real, human eye doctor, we were treated to the "delightful" experience of a virtual exam... conducted by some far-off, presumably mystical optometrist who was not, in fact, in the store with us. "Okay," we thought, "maybe this is the new wave. Trust the process." Fast forward to picking up our glasses, and wouldn't you know it? Both prescriptions were wrong. The "everyday use" pair was a no-go from the get-go--after 48 hours, he still couldn't wear them for more than a few minutes without his eyes staging a rebellion. And the "computer" pair? After a full 8-hour workday? A complete joke. Naturally, we head back to the store for a refund. They "graciously refunded" the two glasses but (shocker) they kept the $115 for their VIRTUAL "eye examination" and the extra $79 for something they bill as "OCT Evaluation." A quick reminder: none of these fees actually helped us get the right prescriptions, but hey, we're apparently paying for the privilege of their incompetence. So, here's the gist: Staton Optical - Fair Oaks is happy to charge you for bad service, bad products, and a complete waste of your time (4 hours of our time and $194.00 wasted on useless exams). At this point, I'd recommend you trust the process of going anywhere else. It's truly amazing that they can get both the doctor and the glasses wrong, but somehow still find a way to charge you for it. FFS

I went back twice to have the glasses adjusted and each time I was greeted with the kindest employees from the front desk to Lynn who was the last employee to assist me in adjusting my glasses. Lynn was extremely professional, kind and non-judgmental. She was so patient with me and her attitude really stood out. To have someone so kind meant a great deal, especially when I was so insecure about the glasses fitting right. Her adjustments did the trick and I am one happy customer. I will be very happy to send friends and family to Lens Crafters.
