I took off work to make my 10:00 am appointment. Upon arriving on time I was greeted by a tall blond woman with glasses. I told her I was there for my appointment. She stated to me that there was no ophthalmologist working that day. I told her that I had an appointment. She responded in a very snarky manner with the exact same words that she had previously stated that there was no ophthalmologist on site. I clarified that I had an appointment. She stated that I was left a message the day prior to cancel the appointment. I told her that I had not received a call or message canceling the appointment and ask why I did not receive an email cancelling the appointment if I had received an email confirming it. She again in a very snarky manner repeated that I had received a message. I produced my phone and asked what number the call had come from. I then showed all my incoming calls proving I had not received a message and asked why an email had not been sent. She then stated that I SHOULD have received a message and she had been gone for 2 days and didn't know what happened. I reminded her she stated that I DID receive a message. Then she tried to place a Jedi mind trick on me and insist that she had always stated that she had said I SHOULD have received a message. Bottom line: 1) the ophthalmologist blew off my appointment 2) I never received a cancellation notice despite receiving a confirmation 2 days prior 3) upon arrival the tall blond woman was snaky, impatient and interrupted me I would not recommend this place if you want professionalism and good customer service.

My husband and I thought we'd be proactive and take care of some much-needed eye exams, along with picking up two pairs of glasses. Simple enough, right? Well, upon arrival, we were told that surprise, there was no optometrist onsite. You see, instead of a real, human eye doctor, we were treated to the "delightful" experience of a virtual exam... conducted by some far-off, presumably mystical optometrist who was not, in fact, in the store with us. "Okay," we thought, "maybe this is the new wave. Trust the process." Fast forward to picking up our glasses, and wouldn't you know it? Both prescriptions were wrong. The "everyday use" pair was a no-go from the get-go--after 48 hours, he still couldn't wear them for more than a few minutes without his eyes staging a rebellion. And the "computer" pair? After a full 8-hour workday? A complete joke. Naturally, we head back to the store for a refund. They "graciously refunded" the two glasses but (shocker) they kept the $115 for their VIRTUAL "eye examination" and the extra $79 for something they bill as "OCT Evaluation." A quick reminder: none of these fees actually helped us get the right prescriptions, but hey, we're apparently paying for the privilege of their incompetence. So, here's the gist: Staton Optical - Fair Oaks is happy to charge you for bad service, bad products, and a complete waste of your time (4 hours of our time and $194.00 wasted on useless exams). At this point, I'd recommend you trust the process of going anywhere else. It's truly amazing that they can get both the doctor and the glasses wrong, but somehow still find a way to charge you for it. FFS

I was charged $198 for a Ray-Ban frame (after a 30% discount since it was a second pair, it was $138.60). I found the same frame on the Ray-Ban website for $57.40. I called them the same day to cancel my order, but they said it was in production, and I would have to pay 50% of the original price for cancellation. Even the lenses are super priced. $290 for lenses with UV Protection and Anti Reflective Coating. I was getting the better premium lens for half the price. I am not going to purchase glasses here anymore, it feels like you are scammed if you look at actual prices.

Emreana, the doctor's assistant, was patient, friendly, and exceptionally informative. She explained each step of the process with care, laid out all my options clearly, and never rushed me. As someone on the neurodivergent spectrum, I tend to ask many questions -- and I'm used to professionals responding with impatience. Emreana never once made me feel that way. Her calm, respectful manner meant a great deal to me. Dr. Gyneth Rock conducted her examination with enthusiasm and positivity, which instantly reassured me. I knew right away that my future eye care would be in capable, caring hands. Nora, the optician, was equally wonderful. She intuitively selected a frame that I fell in love with the moment I tried it on -- it felt as though she had known my style for years. When I asked my usual stream of questions and mentioned, somewhat self consciously, that I have high functioning autism, she didn't blink. Instead, she smiled and said, "Oh, no problem -- I'm on the spectrum too." That simple moment of connection and acceptance was profoundly meaningful. In my 65 years, I don't think I've ever felt so understood and welcomed in a clinical setting. I will never visit another optometric clinic. Within the first few minutes of the appointment he was already huffing under his breath, clearly annoyed with my daughter's vague answers to his questions regarding her eyes. I don't know what he expected but I, as a parent, expected the doctor to have more professional emotional regulation. If I can clearly tell you are getting annoyed during the appointment then I'm sure my daughter can too. We spent maybe 20 mins at most together and if you are already that irritated maybe you shouldn't be a doctor, or perhaps change your preferences so that you don't have to accept pediatric patients?

I went back twice to have the glasses adjusted and each time I was greeted with the kindest employees from the front desk to Lynn who was the last employee to assist me in adjusting my glasses. Lynn was extremely professional, kind and non-judgmental. She was so patient with me and her attitude really stood out. To have someone so kind meant a great deal, especially when I was so insecure about the glasses fitting right. Her adjustments did the trick and I am one happy customer.
