This review is regarding Dr. Rosales since that was the dentist I was dealing with. I was far too trusting and unfortunately Dr. Rosales took advantage of that, and would like to warn people about what they could be getting into. Dr. Rosales convinced me I needed a new crown despite my old crown never giving me any issues for 5+ years. In hindsight staying with my old crown would've saved me months of excruciating pain and money. When it came to measuring for a new crown, he was not transparent that he was going to cut away and trim large areas of my gum. The entire process of that, was the most painful I've ever experienced. And the biggest issue by far, was the new porcelain crown he placed. The day he placed it on, I was in excruciating pain for the following 3 months. Went to one of the best Dentists in Irvine to fix this crown. I was informed the proportions were not good and were way too deep under my gum line that was causing extreme irritation/pain/bleeding for months. The day he placed my crown I tried addressing these issues with Dr. Rosales. He is not receptive to open dialogue regarding issues. He became very argumentative due to a God complex approach of how dare a patient question him because he knows best and can't make mistakes. Everyone here is just amazing, so genuine and reassuring. They are so professional and knowledgeable of their skill, and really helped walk me through the process of everything. Welll let me start by saying they're very detailed and explain everything and discuss your options. I got the whitening which is pricier than other places but we will see if the results are worth it. Got my regular teeth work done which was good I tend to get nervous so they were very patient with me. I opted for getting a done cosmetic work to fix some chipping I had due to clenching and grinding my teeth and omg I'm so happy! You can't even tell I did anything also in order to avoid further damage dr did something to my lower teeth so they won't touch the top not sure what it's called. I started seeing Dr. Rosales back in early 2022. I have generalized anxiety disorder - which in turn causes anxiety during dental procedures. At my consult it was determined that I need two extractions. I had a cross-bite and an underbite - both of which had plagued me my whole life. I knew I'd need surgery in conjunction with braces to correct this. Dr. Rosales was very empathetic and educated me how my jaws misalignment contributed to the loss of teeth & would only continue to get worse as I aged. I said f**k it & asked for a referral to an Orthodontist. He recommended Dr. Sage Humphries & my journey to a better smile and more functional bite began. I've braces for 14 months now. I underwent double Jaw Surgery performed by Dr. Monty Wilson in Sept 2023. I just hit 5 months post op. The day I decided to get braces was filled with mixed emotions, excitement, fear, & relief. I knew surgery would have to happen, but it year a year down the line, so I pretended it wasn't happening. As I saw my smile change I felt a lot more confident - as confident as a 35 yr old with braces could feel. Each appt brought a little more anxiety because surgery was getting closer. Mid-July we finally nailed down a surgical date. I was utterly terrified. At that point, I'd never had surgery. I was worried about the anesthesia & having my parts of my jaw taken off & repositioned. Honestly, what scared me the most was my vision of the healing process. For perspective, the saying "during labor, the pain is so great that a woman can almost imagine what it's like when a man gets sick," holds so much truth for me. I'm honestly the biggest baby when I get sick. This reality and the reality of an anxiety disorder fueled my fears that. I would not be able to handle recovery. Particularly, in relation to my jaw being "wired shut." Which, I was told they do not do anymore unless clinically warranted. Instead, they use rubber bands and they give you a pair of emergency scissors to cut the bands in case of an emergency. The night before surgery I took 1mg of Ativan & that morning I took 0.5mg of Ativan to calm my nerves. I imagined I'd be hyperventilating, crying & being forced into the car to go - that's the picture anxiety painted. But I was quite calm & accepted that something could go wrong but if it did. I'd deal with it. When I awoke from surgery I was completely out of it. Coherent but had no recollection of the surgery taking place. I stayed in the hospital overnight and I was discharged the next morning. I felt ok in the hospital. they gave me Xanax and pain meds. The nurses taught me how to eat out of a tube that squeezes liquid into your mouth. It discharge day, and again - I'm terrified. I wanted to stay there where I felt like nothing could go wrong. My best friend stayed with 3 for 3 days until I was ok to be alone. My pain level never rose above a 4.5. I took Tylenol and Motrin, despite being prescribed Norco. I didn't want to take that unless absolutely necessary. I went on short walks around my complex the first few days to prevent blood clots. I started taking longer walks on day 5 post op. I walked 1 mile and by day 10 I was walking 5 miles a day. It began to prevent blood clots but turned into a form of meditation. Around week 2, my surgeon removed a splint that was keeping my teeth in place. Which alleviated a lot of tension because it was prevented my tongue from resting fully in my mouth. The rubber bands remained on for 2 more weeks. But not as tight. He said I could introduce soft foods at week 4 (I.e. mashed potatoes, yogurt) . I was living off of Gatorade zero, V8 and condensed cream of chicken soup. I ended up losing 30 lbs (starting weight was 260 lbs. I lost approx 10% of weight. Most of my face was numb after the procedure. Now 5 months out I can feel everything except a tiny spot by my lip and chin. Which may or may not comeback. This was a major worry of mine but it goes doesn't even bother me. All in all, this was the best decision I have made for myself. Literally, last week I texted two close friend to tell them I ate a piece of pizza with my front teeth. Meaning I was able to bite down, and tear the pizza away with my smile. Whereas before, I would have to use the side of my bite to tear food because the underbite prevented my front teeth from touching. I was quite surreal I'm still in braces and will be for another 6-8 months. I had the best team from Dr. Rosales, Dr. Humphries & Dr. Wilson. Such an incredible group of doctors. I'm so so so thankful to all of them. If you're considering doing this surgery and have fears - it's worth it and It's probably not going to be as tough as you think. The worst part of this whole process is the insurance aspect. Make sure your providers and the hospital you have surgery at are in-network with your insurance plan. I don't even know where to begin. I've been going to Dr. Fotinos and Dr. Rosales for almost two years now and I couldn't be happier. From the girls at the front, to all the hygenists/dental assistants/billing, they've been nothing but amazing to me and always made me feel at home when I'd go in. I hid my smile for years and wanted to take advantage of COVID and all the mask wearing to look into correcting my smile. Dr. Fotinos and Dr. Rosales took the time to map out my entire treatment plan from beginning end. What I would need to address before the correction, how often I'd need to come into the office, etc. It couldn't have been laid out any clearer. So their office contracts with Clear Correct, and after researching and googling I was really excited to get started. That whole experience was incredible. They took impressions and sent in for my first batch of aligners. At that time they also told me my plan was going to take 27 weeks. I was given a few weeks of aligners at a time and would go back in to get the next batch as well as check the progress. I felt so confident doing it that way because with the other companies that do 100% at home aligners there's no one really monitoring things making sure that it's progressing. I will say you HAVE to be strict with yourself, it will only be worth it in the end because no joke almost 27 weeks exactly we finished up and the difference in my teeth was incredible. But we weren't done there, I wanted to look into whitening my teeth and some minor reshaping. The whitening process was painless and amazing as well. I was so happy with the shade of white we were able to get my teeth. And again I would go in during that process for Dr. Fotinos to monitor and make sure things were going according to plan. Dr. Fotinos also recommended some additional treatment to complete my new smile and after all was said and done, I could not be happier. I wanted something natural and he was able to walk me through all options and show me exactly what my smile would look like, so no surprises at all along the way. Listen, I've had awful experiences with dentists in my past which lead me to not going to see one for 10 years, I have so much anxiety around going that even in the consultation I was on the verge of a panic attack. I was terrified I'd be judged and reprimanded for not seeing a dentist for so long, but Amy and Dr Rosales we're nothing but kind, gentle and understanding. They listened to my past experiences and helped guide me through my anxiety on my first appointment. For my next big appointment I made sure to splurge for the sedation meds so I would be able to sit through the whole procedure. They took care of me and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. Don't laugh at me when I tell you I even asked for the sedation meds for my cleanings, because again, my anxiety barely let me be in the office! A year later I came in to have a few cavities taken care of WITHOUT sedation meds. I was, of course, anxious leading up to the appointment but with the kindness and support of Amy and Dr Rosales I made it through the appointment with ease! I even chuckled a few times. I can't imagine going somewhere else or trusting another team, the front office staff are so kind as well, they make you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in and help break down your whole treatment plan, including a breakdown of insurance (if you're lucky enough to have that!) I wouldn't say I'm looking forward to my next appointment, because let's face it, I'm riddled with anxiety, but I CAN say I'm not dreading it and I know I'll be in the best hands that will take care of me and make me feel less anxious to be there. I'm in the minority population that actually loves going to the dentist for routine work, but I will say my usual dentist is just okay and doesn't really tell me much. It's more of a get in and get out type of thing. This is why when I chipped my front tooth a month before my wedding, I really wanted to look for a place that was both affordable and was really careful with their work. After all, many pics would be taken! My friend had recently went to Dr. Randy Rosales, and had recommended me to him. I called and spoke to Olga, who set me up with a consultation, and again when I came back to get the work done. During the consultation, Dr. Rosales was extremely thorough when explaining my options and weighing the pros and cons of each. He took his time explaining everything and even pointed out some other teeth that would eventually need work (damn aging...). I set up an appointment a few weeks later to do a bonding fix on the chipped tooth and it went smooth. Dr. Rosales and his assistant, Gemma, worked hard to restore the tooth, matching the color of the surrounding teeth and also not making it super straight and fake-looking! I was really happy with my experience and can confidently say that my teeth looked better than they did originally!. I would definitely consider coming back eventually. I honestly should host a keynote or do a "TED talk" about all reasons why you should go here. I'm in my 40's and after years of a "crown here" and a "veneer there"...I had varying shades of white and I wanted to get my smile dialed in for life. Excellent experience! I went in for a routine cleaning and Christine was amazing. I've had many cleanings and Christine had the most delicate touch I've experienced with a hygienist.
