Oh my! Nuthing fancy but some of the best Texas BBQ! Randy takes his BBQ seriously & could be charging more but doesn't. A regular chopped beef sandwich weighs about a half pound! Add sauce if you must but the meat's savory flavor stands alone! Try his little stuffed peppers that are more like Texas nuggets! A jalepeno stuffed w/spicy breakfast sausage wrapped w/dough & deep fried! He goes through @ least 150 a day out of his little shack. Locals know this unsuspected treasure so go early as he runs out often. read more

From Indiana, me and my family go down to Texas every year and we never leave home without going to Lew's. I guess Lew no longer owns the place, it's owned by Randy now, but he's doing an amazing job carrying on the tradition. If you're in the area, dont pass it up! It's more than worth it. Tough to pass up little BBQ shacks out in the middle of nowhere. Dennison to be exact. It's usually a good experience when stopping at places like these. Saw plenty of wood surrounding the shack expecting great smoke flavor. The prices are very reasonable for BBQ. I would and will go back to try it again because I left somewhat disappointed because there wasn't pronounced smoke on my brisket sandwich. The beef was tender and cooked just right. But it seemed like it was cooked in an oven and smoked for the last few hours. I've smoked many briskets myself and by no means consider myself a pro but, it did taste like the ones I've used the oven to save on time. I don't like sauce on my meats so to be able to taste the hard labor it takes to smoke these meats. I tried a single pork rib and had good smoke but it had no seasoning. BBQ is an art IMOP and these guys are very close to creating great BBQ. Come and try out on your way North or South if your driving thru. read more

WOW! It's Randy's BBQ now, but names don't matter...Randy's sliced brisket by any other name would smell and taste just as wonderful! Randy's stuffed peppers are the BEST. They are large jalapeno peppers stuffed with sausage and cooked with a great breaded batter. They are not too spicy at all, but they do have a spice to them. HOLY COW!!! Portions are great.
