She will also realistically tell you if something cannot be altered (haha- she teasingly told me when I asked what could be done for me to buy spanx and/ or lose 15 lbs but we have become friends so I thought it was hysertical and she was not wrong.. other than I thought it was actually closer to 20 lbs, lol). Her prices for both alterations and dry cleaning are very reasonable She is meticulous with her dry cleaning as well. For teenaged girls looking for cute, affordable prom dresses, she has a decent selection in back. She is loved by her loyal customers and she loves them back, even staying late to help people running behind schedule and will come to the shop as early as 4:00 am to work on alterations. I explained the situation - the comforter was still wet and badly stained, including stains from a previous lifetime - and requested that it be dry cleaned and the duvet be laundered and pressed. The cost came to just under $100. When I picked up the items yesterday I was thrilled beyond words. The comforter was folded and packed into the same type of carrying bag it came in years ago (great for summer storage) and the duvet was pressed and hanging over a heavy-duty hanger. Not a hint of the stains anywhere, both exactly as fresh-looking as new. I just finished the 20-minute ordeal of replacing the comforter into the duvet - well worth the effort and out-of-pocket to have everything beautiful as new. Thank you, Dependable. I cannot believe how absolutely perfect the hemming of my charmeuse silk OVER 60 YEARS OLD dress turned out. I also needed it in 2 days. She managed to not only meet this deadline but exceed all expectations. She fixed my dress so I can wear it for a very long time. The sewing is absolutely perfect. The dress was in a delicate state, with parts that were on the verge of deterioration. Honestly, I was concerned about the strain on the aged zipper and the overall fit. Incredibly, she even reinforced those delicate areas, something I wouldn't have dreamt of asking for given the short timeframe. Her dedication and expertise goes beyond the ordinary. I brought in three items (a scarf, a sweatshirt, and a pair of pajamas) to be embroidered for my honeymoon. I was very specific about the details--monogram placement, font, and even requested that my name be done in all lowercase. Unfortunately, every item was done incorrectly. The monogram on the scarf was placed upside down (so when worn, it read incorrectly), and both the sweatshirt and pajamas were embroidered in the wrong font and not in lowercase as requested. When I brought this to their attention, I was told the original items could not be corrected and would need to be replaced and re-embroidered. To their credit, they agreed to repurchase the items. However, when I returned to pick them up, none of the items had been embroidered at all--and the pajamas provided were not even the correct pair. At that point, I requested a refund for the embroidery services I never received. I was told the employee present was unable to process a refund. I had to insist on getting something in writing stating that I would be refunded, but I have little confidence this will actually happen. I have not received a phone call, email, or any other communication to try to rectify the issue or send a refund. I've since filed a dispute with my bank. Between the repeated errors, lack of attention to detail, and inability to resolve the issue properly, this was an incredibly frustrating experience--especially given that these items were meant for a special occasion. I would not recommend this business based on my experience. The level of inaccuracy and lack of follow-through here is simply unacceptable.
