I had been having hot water heater problems and called on a Saturday morning. They texted a picture…read moreof who was coming, and the tech arrived in less than one hour. I live in Park City so getting home service up here is sometimes difficult. It turned out a few weeks later that I did need a new hot water tank and install. The guys that came, came on time, wore booties in my house, were so polite, and did an excellent job. The tech that originally quoted the job (he did not do the install) said that they were competitively priced but encouraged me to get a few quotes. I told him that I didn't have the time to take more time off if work to get other quotes and to just go ahead and schedule the job. I appreciated his explanations and knowledge of the situation, and him suggesting I get other quotes. I probably spent more than I would've if I had pieced it together with some other companies, but I'm confident I won't have problems, and if I do I know they'll be up here in no time. Excellent customer service all the way around. And great workmanship!

It works! I might be an anomaly for a 5 star rating, but in this case it's well deserved…read more Firstly the answering service listened and took down my number and said they would stand-by while I determined if I wanted to schedule a tech. I called in and they were able to look at precious notes of my issues. The tech was scheduled a day out, which was appreciated, considering the heat we are currently having. Here is what was found out, for anyone caring. Spencer was the tech who came out. He was thorough, he explained what he was doing, and he listened to me explain my scenario. Basically, The pipes were freezing every single night which created a huge clump of ice which no air could pass. The two images below show a before and after of the coolant test. Basically the coolant was low, so the temperature of the system, on the bottom left was 23 degrees, so it froze up really quick. On the "after" picture it's 35. So basically it was getting cold way to fast causing the freezing. They simple refilled the coolant and problem solved. Crazy stupid easy fix, but the previous hvac guy didn't check it. Cost me $300-ish.

Our tech was Donovan Romo. He was on time in the given time window, knew his craft well and fixed our emergency water leak in a timely fashion. We liked the fact that you get 3 quotes, and we went with new parts, as our house is 20 years old. Price quoted for the work that was done, was fair and even discounted a bit. I would rate Scott Hale Plumbing as a top shelf business, where you get equal top shelf service. Also, Donovan was a great tech. Thank you... Matt H

I've been a Scott Hale customer for many years now. They've done many jobs for me and they also…read morereplaced my water heater, furnace and AC unit when they conked out. The old furnace went out the day before Thanksgiving one year, and they had a new one installed and running the same day. I appreciate the employees who have provided good service over the years. In the beginning I referred friends to SH, saying they are not necessarily cheap but they do good work. (Looking back, I realize however that I overpaid for the new water heater and other some other major expenses, I was just naïve and didn't do due diligence. More about overcharging below.) That being said, I've given up on SH. Too often my encounters with its employees go wrong. The person they send may or may not have experience with my issue, and they never ask for help from other employes. One recommended I have a new air intake installed (he came twice and couldn't get rid of the awful noise) and when I finally got a different guy over, he fixed the whistling noise just by recaulking the area; it was gone in minutes. Another guy made excuses for the (unsupervised) people who ripped up large patches of drywall because they didn't know to go through an interior wall; SH paid for the extra drywall repairs, which I appreciated. Another guy freaked out about the "sewage" he imagined must be under the board beneath my sink (there was none). Another couldn't tolerate me saying that I had never had a leaky condensation pipe until they replaced the AC. My 10+ years in my home meant nothing, and this is consistent: many times the repairmen will not give credence to anything I say, and however neutrally I state it, react as if I'm challenging them in some way. The latest incident is the $1800 estimate for replacing my kitchen sink (labor only). The guy said it would take 2-3 hours to remove the old sink (!!) and added that he would "cap the pipes" so I wouldn't lose water to the rest of house. I mean, there's upselling and then there's just BS. The plumber I hired removed the old sink in 20 mins and is charging a few hundred dollars for the whole job (including installing the new one). And of course the water to the house didn't have to be shut off, there are valves right under the sink. I'm really appalled they would just...lie.
