Terrible experience today. While shooting today, a guy I've never met before came into my stall and put heavy hands on my shoulder to give me shooting advice. My immediate reaction was to put my arm up to block him. I was completely startled and upset by the lack of range etiquette displayed. I had no way of knowing if this guy was mentally stable or what. Mind you I had the gun in my hand - not down on the table with chamber visibly empty. The RO (Mike) could not mentally grasp how serious a situation this could have been. If I had been a novice my reaction could have been a negative reflex action that could have proven fatal. The RO (Mike) was telling me I was overthinking this but I explained that this is not a golf range whereby someone was offering an opinion on how to improve my swing! I had a loaded gun in my hand. This became escalated because other shooters were chiming in, and mind you everyone is locked and loaded. This was so mismanaged I just left and went to speak with Range USA Matt and Adam. Hopefully, some kind of action will be taken or at least some retraining. But as a premier membership holder I will never shoot in any lane governed by Range Officer Mike. I'm sorry for the long post but this could have been on the 10 o'clock news if my reflex would have been different. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at Range USA Mokena. I ordered a Streamlight TLR-6 HL online for store pickup, and less than 24 hours after picking it up, I returned to the store because the screws were clearly defective and stripped straight out of the box. The light was never mounted or used. The manager, Matt S., acknowledged the issue but still refused to accept the return, telling me I had to go through the manufacturer. This was not a warranty issue -- this was a brand-new, defective product that was never functional to begin with. Being told to "deal with it" after less than a day is not acceptable customer service. I was polite and reasonable the entire time, and I documented everything -- the product, receipt, and all communication. Despite that, I received a message from them saying they would no longer communicate with me at all. It's unfortunate because I've supported Range USA both in-store and online in the past, but this experience has completely changed my view. If you value customer service, accountability, and peace of mind with your purchases, I'd strongly suggest going elsewhere. read more

Ok, I'm pissed off at the two range safety personnel. This happens every time I bring my wife or daughter to the range, someone at the range thinks they should come in the stall, and give my daughter or wife shooting tips. Now here is what I dont like; I'm standing there, you're only doing that because they're attractive. Listen to me butt munch I have over 15 years of military training in COMBAT ARMS, I have been shooting over 35 years, and when I buy a new gun for my wife ( who is also a vet) to get fimilar with it and become comfortable with the sounds of gun fire, using iron sights and the kick of a new weapon I DONT NEED YOUR F ing help. I'm not trying to get her to hit the target center mass on day one, I'm trying to get her comfortable with the weapon, but you two butt clowns wouldn't know that because your to busy looking at her ass to see the hat I'm wearing says OEF/ OIF veteran whose job it was to recover downed aircraft and doesn't need you to say shit. Hell, I was even off that day but I also was firing this firearm for the first time and trying to sight it. Not to say I would refuse shooting tips from a range safety ( because no one is perfect and we can all learn something), just dont blow past me to get to my wife and try an instructor her when I'm standing right there, it's disrespectful. Luckily, I'm a very patient man and have become less hot-headed in my older years. Other than that, the range is perfect. Truth, I should have put you in your spot when you did it, but as I said earlier we all have room to learn from each other. read more

Purchased a firearm online and got a call the my firearm was ready for pickup after 7 days. Perfect, went it for pickup to find out they did not have it? but they had a floor model and gave me that instead. I've never been to a place that you purchase a firearm online yet they have the ability to either put it up as a display or possibly sell it to someone else? This was very upsetting but the worse part is when I finally took the firearms home after a better inspection notice that there are multiple scuff marks all around. 2 star due to some workers give you better service than others and getting a display model even though my firearm should have already been reserve for me. Paid for itself the 1st week Went shooting today. Had some issues with my AR and Dom took care of it. Couldn't believe how helpful he was. And then gave me some really helpful tips and information. Really appreciate it Dom. Also their prices are are extremely competitive. And only $2 transaction fees for our crooked state of Illinois, then they throw in 2 free range passes. I was excited to see this store open. I even was in the store the day before it opened and talked with staff.... I joined their membership club. I expect a business to honor their promises and to be honest. I purchased some sights from Shoot Point Blank in Mokena and was told that they were ordering the sight machine and would install them free. They went on to tell how other stores charge for this service. I went back two weeks later and they still didn't have the required tools. I just went back and was charge to have the sights installed. When I told them that I was promised the sights would be installed for free since I purchased them there, I was told that they have changed their policies. Your companies promise is retroactive? If you do business with this store get it in writing before leaving the store, their word changes.d BTW, cancelling my membership. read more

Used to go here a lot haven't been in since October 2018. I taught me aunt to shoot here and have spent a lot of time and money at thos location. Imagine my surprise when I wanted a half hour to sight in a new gun and was told that I HAD to do an hour and the $1 target is now $1.49. How petty can you get? I'm the only one in the place and shooting I notice several live rounds on the rangr floor, DANGEROUS. Next two guys come to the stall to be left, one of them is so far up in the stall that he's ejecting into my stall. When one hit my neck and burned me I asked them to move back, they didn't and though I was "a pussy". Assholes didn't notice the mics on my ears, I heard every word that they said. I told the RSO, nothing. I left with 35 minutes of time left, but I'm glad for this experience, I'll NEVER go back again. read more

I went in to purchase a specific pistol, which I did. But, in retrospect, I should have just walked out and gone elsewhere. I have a concealed carry license and under Illinois law as long as you have your CCL with you, you are allowed to purchase a firearm or ammunition and do not need to have your FOID with you to do so. But, not at SBP. The genius salesman that I had the misfortune to deal with and his so-called manager both refused to accept my CCL stating that you have to show your FOID in order to handle a firearm. If my CCL allows me to carry a concealed weapon, isn't that handling a firearm? The "manager" also told me that your FOID could be revoked but you could still have your CCL. That is about the stupidest thing that I have ever heard. I guess that he didn't realize that if the state were to revoke your FOID they would also revoke your CCL and that would show up when they ran the FTIP. Moreover, my FOID and my CCL have the exact same number. Did those two geniuses actually think that if they were to run the FTIP using the number on my CCL, that the state would know that they used my CCL rather than my FOID? Lastly, when my salesman had another employee verify the paperwork, he held the pistol up to verify the serial number. When he did so, he pointed the pistol right at my head. I guess that SBP employees don't have to abide by the first rule of safe firearms handling which is to always assume that the firearm is loaded or they simply don't care about safety in their stores. Carelessness like that could have disastrous results. read more

I've bought MANY firearms from here over the year even back to when it was Shoot Point Blank . There was a Glock 48 in the used section that I wanted to purchase , and asked if I could see the internals as in the slide and barrel and the employee freaked out , had to call his manager and told me " Thats not allowed here and we are not supposed to do that ever ", we test fire them and that it . The range is good. Clean and spacious. Range officers are at times a little less than diligent. But overall ok. I had a membership there for about a year and would shot two or three times a month. I took a class there, instructor was good and informative. I enjoyed that. BUT, some of the staff and specifically the managerial staff seem to be in just a foul moody the majority of the time. I recently had a gun I was considering trading in. The red headed manager almost seemed offended that I try to engage him in conversation. I honestly felt bad that I had created some undue burden in this guys life. Some manager when I asked about classes just barked at me to "check the website" and walked off. read more

The staff of men there are pretty rude. As a woman who does not go to the range leisurely, I thought the staff would be more inviting. I went to get my husband a gift card for Christmas. The only reason I did not walk out is because I really need it and I am late grabbing gifts. This guy Karim did not make eye contact and I am standing right in front of him. I will tell you what disturbed me instead of saying hello or acknowledging he turns and helps the guy next to me! I was so confused. Last Saturday (6-27-2020) after work, I stopped by Shoot Pointblank Moneka. I had recently purchased a few guns from their website and had them shipped to the stores in Hodgkins and Mokena. I tried to avoid the croom county tax. I wish I had just paid it after the terrible at Shoot Pointblank Mokena. Usually I go to the Hodgkins facility which is pretty good. This is 1 of the reasons why I shop and shoot at Shoot Pointblank. However after the lackluster customer service that I got in Mokena I will never shop at that Shoot Pointblank and possibly never patronize any Shoot Pointblank again. When I arrived the staff were busy joking and on their phones except for 1 older gentlemen who was actively assisting an elderly couple. (I wish I could've gotten him.) I walked up to a counter and was not given the time of day. I went to another counter to browse and I had to ask the sales person Dominic to come over to the counter to help me with a purchase. Dominic wasn't wearing his mask and I don't recall associates wearing masks despite CDC and state regulations. He begrudgingly asked what I needed and then made his best attempt to blow me off. It was clear that he didnt want to have a conversation with me. It was also pretty obvious he didn't want to be there and that he disliked his job. Or...maybe it was just the cut of my jib or something else external that he didn't like about me.... In any case, he was the only sales associate available at that time so I had no choice but to deal with him. Keep in mind that the store was empty except for me, my Son and an elderly couple. As soon as I said excuse me may I ask you a question, Dominic was bothered and peeved that I interrupted his text messaging. He seemed very upset about working on a Saturday and had disdain for me being in the store bugging him. He was more actively engaged with his phone and leaning on the display counter than assisting a buying customer and a Shoot Pointblank member. Luckily for me, I had previously done my research and shot the weapon I came there to buy. That 10 minutes with Dominic was an uncomfortable and frustrating. Dominic's demeanor made me feel as if he was doing me a favor selling me a gun. Keep in mind that I only inquired about 2 firearms and 1 of them I purchased. If I didn't have my teenage Son with me, I would've asked for a Manager and voiced my displeasure with the interaction. I would've canceled my order and left without buying anything. But, I want to show my Son that there are other ways of managing difficult human interactions without making a scene or being rude. Maybe Dominic was having a bad day or gotten some bad news. So I made my purchase and quietly left. This morning at around 11:30 am, I called to inquire about my other gun that previously purchased online a week before. (I received an email confirmation from Shoot Pointblank that it had been delivered today.) When an associate finally answered she was rude and flippant saying wait until we call you! Then promptly hung up. Needless to say, I may be requesting a refund on all purchases and never going back to this place again. read more

My husband and I, who are regulars and monthly paying members, decided to bring out some of our family members to experience you alls range because they were thinking about also becoming members. When it was finally our turn at the register to get our lanes Jim J not only gave us a very hard time, but with no mask on at all he coughed in my Aunts face! This mad her very upset and she is still anxious about it to this day. With COVID-19 running rampant throughout the world this is a very big deal and is unacceptable! If I could give zero stars I would, I highly recommend not doing any sort of FFL transfer at point blank, when I got a good deal on a firearm a couple months ago they decided to charge me $75 for the transfer fee and 2.50 for the background check. No place I know of charges that much for an FFL transfer fee. I called their corporate office and they didn't seem to care. I refuse to give them any of my business. To anyone reading this nearly all places have better deals on ammo and firearms than point place Also don't bother calling their corporate to tell them they suck just as much, don't give them any of your business for real read more

The salesman told me it would only take 2 days for this to arrive because it was in your warehouse. After paying I asked to fill out the paperwork I was then told that you no longer do that because you have lost the paperwork in the past on ordered guns. I should have canceled this sale then but figured it was no big deal. Tues 6/11/19 I called the store to ask if my purchase had arrived. The woman who answered the phone told me "obviously your gun hasn't arrived or we would have called you". The tone and flippant quick responses she gave were not what I would expect from someone working in a retail situation. She begrudgingly agreed to check to see if the gun had come in after I told her the salesman told me it would only take 2 days but only after asking me if I made the purchase from Mike. I said I think so, she responded with " well I don't know why he would tell you that it takes at least a week" I was then put on hold for maybe 15 seconds she picked back up and said "no it's not here". I highly doubt if she even checked in that short amount of time. Today 6/12/19 I returned to the store to get a refund and was told that they cannot refund it there because it was a "corporate sale" by the manager Nate. I find it unconscionable that you can accept my money at the store on a Sunday but not refund it at the same location because it's a "corporate sale". This level of customer service is not what I expect when spending this amount of money. Nor do I find it acceptable for a firearm retailer to Loose paperwork on a firearm. read more

I stopped in SPB 3 weeks ago to use the range and purchase my first firearm. I've shot firearms before but still knew very little when it came to specific brands/models and such. Dominic was very helpful with helping me narrow down my options. You were able to rent and try firearms for $10 which was nice. The range was very clean and maintained. Plenty of lanes to use between the rifle and handgun ranges. Very nice clean facility overall. Items well displayed and plenty of employees staffed to help out.
