This is the worst range I've ever been to. Let me explain. I took my wife here, since it seemed nice and expensive and I figured it would be a good way to get her to like shooting. First, we got there at 6:40pm and there were 2 people in front of us. But checking in took 20 minutes, somehow. We rented a lane and an extra firearm for an hour. Second, we go in and start shooting, and within 5 minutes the rangemaster announces that last reload is in 25 minutes because there's some class scheduled. I told him we just got here and rented the lane for an hour. His answer - when you're done, take it up with the front desk. Third, another 5 minutes later the fire alarm goes off. The rangemaster tells us to hold our fire, checks with the rangemaster in the neighboring room, and comes back to announce that someone SHOT THE SPRINKLERS overhead and now the fire alarm can't be disabled, so they have to close the range for the day. Fourth, we got out (after only 10 minutes, out of the hour we paid for), and asked for a partial refund, but the front desk guy said he can't issue refunds and I have to register on their website and open a support ticket there. Fifth, I registered on the website and opened a support ticket. At first they refused to issue a refund claiming that if I schedule a course I have to reschedule a day in advance (but this was not a course, and I didn't reschedule anything). And then they claimed if I purchased something in-store, then only the store can issue refunds. At this point I just filed a dispute through the credit card company and a complaint with the BBB. So let's summarize: * This is the most expensive range in town. * The rangemasters are supposed to ensure safety, but on their watch, someone managed to aim the firearm up and shoot the sprinklers behind them. * They chase people out after 10 minutes without giving them the full hour that was paid for. * They do everything in their power, including using dishonesty, to avoid paying refunds that are obviously due. Do you still want to go to a range like that? Me neither. read more

A newish range (open about 6 months) in RR. We decided to go here A. to check out the "new place" and B. it was a convenient location for both of us. They do have an expansive shopping/check-in area. All the guys working in this area were very welcoming and walked us first-timers through the process to reserve a lane. In less than 10 minutes we were locked and loaded in our lane. I should mention that Point Blank has good AC and ventilation. I was also able to purchase ammo that I could locate elsewhere. Our range officer was on top of things and made sure all of the guidelines were followed. They do have a rule about rapid-fire, as others have mentioned, so take note if you are planning to be doing that. We definitely got our monies worth during our hour. read more

Range USA in Round Rock (formerly Shoot Point Blank) is a popular gun range. We came as a group of 4 and decided to get two lanes for the afternoon. They were able to accommodate us while working hard to get an even larger 10+ person group situated at the same time. We were placed in consecutive lanes which made it easier to switch up and change targets. I had a fantastic conversation with the range master. He was giving us tips on how to better handle our firearm and troubleshoot the common mistakes made while aiming. This is extremely beneficial for a few of the newbies that are learning to get their LTC. I mentioned to Lester that they were all practicing so that they could pass their B27 range qualification. That's going above and beyond in my book. The level of service here is quite good and they've earned a repeat customer. If you are planning to come here often you're much better of getting a membership. It pays for itself in two visits and you can bring friends along for free. They also have really good specials as well. Don't spend your entire paycheck though! read more

You may have already seen my review prior to this one. But I went to Shoot Point Blank today (7/27/2021) and my goal was to rent a couple of handguns and to leave with a new purchase. This review is based on the excellent customer service experience that Matthew provided during my time at the range. Matthew was very friendly, but he was also very knowledgeable about the various firearms I was interested in renting/buying. He answered my twenty-million questions without ever making me feel uncomfortable, but also giving me space to make my own decisions. I was satisfied with my time at the range, and I was very satisfied with my handgun purchase, and also with all that I learned from Matthew about the various handguns, ammunition, and holsters. First time in. Super clean and the staff was very friendly. Their range prices are decent and they do have perks with different membership tiers. Like unlimited shooting on weekdays and weekends (Premium), 1 free guest, free classes, holster draw, and reserved times. Their ammo prices are a bit high. I call it "convenience pricing" for having available ammo. There really is no ammo shortage, people just try and buy all they can at once so, places up the price. Stop paying premium prices for ammo, people! The prices will go back down if you do. The range is clean and the bays are nice with bottom shelves for gear. It looks like they have been open a year now. They still seem to be making adjustments. That comes with any business. You can't please everyone, but you can listen and try and make sure every customer is heard. They also offer 25% off their memberships for qualified active or retired military and first responders. Today I completed my first gun course with Shoot Point Blank. It was the introduction to gun safety class that ended with an opportunity in the range. The two instructors were very kind, informative, and patient. They should have offered pre-printed handouts of the presentation so participants could follow along and take notes. Everything was perfectly paced. When we went into the range, since they are super methodical about all of us taking one step at a time (as novice learners) it would have been nice to load the magazines before entering the range to save time! There was a overbearing husband that was constantly criticizing his wife that made me and others unnecessarily nervous. He should have been asked to pipe down! He was friendly, informative and patient. He knew i was just gathering information and would not be purchasing that day. Still, met with patience, interest and information. I will now be purchasing two firearms from them. As far as the one star review, to ease your mind... there are kooks everywhere who get upset when they act like goobers and get treated as such. In his rant it states in the rules he "read..." "NO rapid-fire." Clear as day, which was his whole cry fest foundation. Its not a one star facility. Its busy with a large mix of skill levels coning in and out. If you're a federal air marshal that thinks he's john wick, maybe this isn't the range for you to execute the training you'll "need." read more

FYI, the attitude has nothing to do with Covid. Rude. From the moment we stepped inside the store front to the time we left. RUDE! Now, this isn't my first rodeo, I've been going to the range and shooting in fields for years, I know what I'm doing. That being said, my friend was not as confident. She hasn't picked up a weapon like that in over 20 years. If you have never been to a range please PLEASE either bring someone that in knowledgeable or go to a different place! They will not help you, or give you any type of rundown, again, that isn't needed for someone that has experience but if you are a novice, I beg you, go somewhere else! Every other range I have ever been to will give you a rundown of rules, expectations, dos and don'ts, and for the ladies, where the bathroom is. The old man that was range security... I get it's high stress but this guy needs to chill the hell out or get a job as a greeter at walmart. I have not one damn thing nice to say about his agression and attitude. If he sticks his finger in YOUR face I hope you react accordingly. I get no rapid fire but that is different than shooting fast. Will I be back?
