My father who is 91 found Aberdeen Gardens while searching for respite care for my 91 year old…read moremother while he needed to have surgery. They were invited by Rachel Carver, Assistant Executive Director, to join the residents for a complimentary lunch before making a decision. My mother is ciliac and the chef customized a beautiful salad for her enjoyment. They were also taken on a tour of Aberdeen Gardens and she was shown the room she would stay in. My parents were so impressed with both the retirment home and its amenities, but the real decision was made after meeting Rachel and the amazing staff. I live in Atlanta, GA and arrived in Hamilton the day of my father's surgery. I visited my mother at Aberdeen and was immediately welcomed by the lovely staff at the front desk and was immediately taken to be introduced to Rachel and Nicole Barrett, Director of Care. They immediately updated me on my mother's care and after visiting her I saw that she is actually learning some things to help her to be more independent once she goes home. My mother is not able to get out of bed on her own, dress herself or know when to take her pills. The staff at Aberdeen make sure she is bathed and dressed and she enjoys going for meals in the dining room. There is also live entertainment and my mother was able to have her hair styled once a week, which is fantastic. We had to extend my mother's stay due to my father's recovery time and Rachel and Nicole said they would be able to accomodate the request, which was a huge relief. My mother goes home in two days, and to say our family is eternally grateful to the entire staff of Aberdeen Gardens is an understatement. I truly hope that one day, if the need arises, that my parents will become full time residents at Aberdeen Gardens where my family knows they will be very, very happy! Thank you to everyone! Sincerely, Cathie Raines

And trust me, this review is well deserved, as I don't often take the time to post reviews. I was there a week so I have some good insight to the operations. When I pulled up the grounds were covered with privacy, snow, and about 10 white tailed deer. When I walked in, it smelled and looked so clean. The receptionist was quite friendly and directed me to my grandmothers room. Let me give you the bottom line....this place is sooo nice. Staff is very responsive, polite, caring and accommodating. Everyone that worked there loved working there and most were more than 10 years. Everything was efficient, the food was pretty good-no complaints. They clean the rooms thoroughly once a week, laundry is done weekly, they give the patients they're medicine etc. in a kind and gentle demeanor. Massaged ointment on my grandmother 2x a day-in S caring and gentle manner. Check on my grandmother 2x per night while she is asleep. They have church, activities, music, brain stimulation exercises, an area to dine privately if the whole family comes to visit, Omg-I could go on, I can't say anything bad. If you have someone you care about, you would have great comfort and not question the care here at all!!! Two thumbs up to Elderwood Assisted living from one pleasantly surprised granddaughter. Oh...PS-I made friends with 1/2 the residents! Love this place!

The apartments are reasonably large and you can order somewhat to your taste, within their options. There is a nice common space and the communal eating area is nice. The food is ok, but these days in Buffalo our bar is set high. For the money this place costs I would have expected much better food. Much better. Right on Gates Circle, some of the views are lovely.

Everything at our table was prepared expertly. There was no problem with special requests to accommodate my friend's dietary restrictions. Like its suburban counterpart, Canterbury Woods Gates Circle is for the wealthy. They know their market and service it well.
