I was in NYC to visit some old cycling friends as part of an on the fly Hill Cycle reunion. We met up at the Rapha store in the South Village area. As other's have written, it is a beautiful store. There are plenty of seats for cyclists and non cyclists to hang out. There are 3 bathrooms too which is a big plus for an older rider. All the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. There is a nice selection of coffees, drinks and baked goods. There is a lot of wood and natural elements. It is very well designed. Rapha also makes some beautifully designed cycling clothing. Riding and racing for 35 plus years, their old school simplicity certainly appeals to me. The stuff is pricey, and I am sure well made, but it does seem to me as designer cycling chic. I will admit if that is what one is so inclined to purchase, Rahpa is the place. They do the best job I have seen successfully marketing high end cycling gear.

I have been wearing Rapha products for several years now and they have never failed to deliver on quality. I stopped by their store to introduce my friend to the brand - she loved it. Their new location on Prince St is another example of their meticulous attention to detail and their passion for the sports of cycling. The layout of the store is a cafe first, a shop second. You can easily catch a stage of a tour or chat up a fellow cyclist while enjoying a cup of the finest coffee. The line-up of the memorabilia from the two Canyon bikes to cycling-inspired artworks really immerses you in not just Rapha but the sports itself. You can find almost all of their online products in the store. As a tip, they typically have more complete sizes than what you find online!

I'm writing this review as the employees are having a blast reading other reviews. Guys...the coffee isn't that bad. I'm in town for a week and could not skip out on visiting the clubhouse. Reasons? In chronological order: 1. Make friends jealous 2. Spend rent money 3. Tell employees how awesome Taiwan is and how their next international cycling destination should be Taiwan. 4. Buy exclusive NYC clubhouse merchandise The employee who helped me, Cauldor, was super helpful and knowledgeable. I was on the market for a breathable cap and he knew immediately what I needed and found me the right size. I ended up chatting with him for a good 15 minutes at the register about everything and anything cycling. I really love how cycling can make it seem like I've known him for a long time. It seems like they allow non paying customers to use their restroom. I've been sitting in the cafe for 2 hrs and a lot of people have been walking over to the restroom without buying anything. This is really cool of them since I feel like a lot of places in NY don't allow it! PS Free WiFi and they have outlets under the larger TV for those wanting to do work.

Great coffee, great quality bike kit, great members, great group rides, interesting interior design and layout of the space... what's not to like?? The quality and especially design of the gear is definitely worth the price. But I am a poor sap and have to wait for sale prices :(

Getting my first Rapha here! So excited! Great store with la Colombe coffee served inside as well. Loved every single piece of it!

Great place to stop for some refreshments. Lots of seating. Compared to all the crowded tiny spaces around it! Especially for cyclists

Staff here is terrible and will ignore you. The online shopping experience is way better. Honestly, store needs training.

I walked into Enoch's shop last week, and he quoted me $15 and 10 minutes, and I said sure. As the service continued, I became progressively more apprehensive, but was too polite to tell him "Sorry, I don't trust you anymore. Can we stop?" 1. He clamped my titanium bike on the seattube. One should always clamp on the seatpost, so if any crush damage occurs, it would be easily replaceable. Luckily there was no damage here, but he would have crushed a carbon fiber frame. 2. Unluckily for me, I have carbon fiber wheels. He used a steel vise grip to pull the tire off the rim... I've never had to use anything other than plastic tire levers to get my tire off. This caused dent damage on my flawless carbon rim, as you can see in the attached photo (I did not know this damage occurred until after I already left the shop). I do not know if the damage is just cosmetic or structural, and I will need to contact the manufacturer. 3. When he reattached the wheel to the bicycle, he rested the chain not on the cog, but past the cog on the rear axle, then stretched my rear triangle to handle the extra width, then tightened it down (this I also did not realize until after I had left). This is basic, and so obvious. If he had simply turned the pedal at all, he would see that it's not driving the wheel... When I discovered this, I ran home to get my multitool to relieve the tension on my frame and set it properly. Luckily this does not seem to be permanent damage, as the back wheel still seems aligned properly. If I had a carbon frame, he would have snapped it. At the end he said "I'll need to charge you more, $20, because this took a long time and was very hard". So I came in for a tire tube repair, and left with potentially hundreds of dollars in damage (still awaiting manufacturer reply if the rim is unsafe to ride or not). I made a mistake of bringing something nice here, don't make the same mistake yourself.

At no point should bolts randomly fling off your bike while you going down the Brooklyn bridge going 24mph. I'm a high school student and I had to pay for my bike with my own money. I've been working since 10th grade to help my mom because she is a single parent so for me the loss of about 5k including repairs leave me without transportation as I can not afford to repair it at this point. I've spent 3.7k on a bike, this isn't including the repairs i had to pay over the span of a year which amount to at least 1.4k+ after random bolts detaching and motor failing, and as soon as the warranty expired my bike had a random electrical issue where the bike wouldn't accelerate. From the owner Pete: OK, where are you going? (Direct email sent from owner) 1- Last Mile NYC replaces all of the electronics on your bike. The cost of the parts and labor is $2910.54 2- Send your bike back to Super73. They will do their own diagnosis, and determine the issues and fix the problems. Unfortunately your bike is not under warranty, the cost of packing up and freighting your bike to and from Super73 will be around $1200. Plus their diagnostic fee, parts and labor. I had previously tried getting a bike from the Specialized store on the UWS and while they were friendly, their service times left a lot to be desired. Same goes for Hilltop in Williamsburg (also owned by Specialized) - those guys treated me like I was a sale/noob and really couldn't have cared less about figuring out what was "right" for me given I wasn't going to be buying a bike from them. Nice guys, but once again - backed up for weeks on the service side of things. Back to Bicycle Habitat - Matt and the team were awesome. Took their time with me after a build and helped me get sorted with both shoes and clips - adjusted my bike a bit and really made sure I got some practice clipping in/out and that I was all set to go before walking out the door. All in all spent over an hour in the shop both chatting with the guys and getting set up with the new bike. I will 100000% be bringing any and all future bike needs to the shop and will be making it known to friends/fellow bikers that this is the place to go. More than happy to support the shop - 5 star service and looking forward to my next return.
