The gentleman behind the counter was super helpful and friendly. He walked me through everything I needed to know, even the details on tolls and stuff. The car was about two blocks from their office, but they explained how to get to it and even had a print out of a map to help get me there. It also had pictures so there was no way I was going to miss it. The car was a 2021 and in great condition and had a full tank of gas. Another positive of getting a Toyota is the gas mileage. I went to Sonora and back (roughly 275 miles) and I only had to refill once before I dropped it off... which was also super easy. I simply dropped it off where I picked it up and handed the valet the key. I would totally rent from here again if I find myself in the heart of San Francisco and in need of a ride for a few days.

Drop off is super easy, just leave the keys with the parking attendant and you're done! My only small issue is that as a small local company, you might be in a bit of a bind if you need service or have an accident after hours and far out of the city.

As a 68-year-old grandmother, I was simply trying to use a valid gift certificate, yet I was treated as though I was attempting to commit fraud. The employee immediately became accusatory and spoke to me in a harsh, demeaning tone. He repeatedly insisted that I had to pay multiple times the amount, demanded unnecessary proof of payment, and continued to create obstacle after obstacle to prevent me from using my valid gift certificate. His behavior made me feel like a criminal rather than a valued customer. What made this experience even more upsetting is that I genuinely believe I was racially profiled because I am an elderly Black woman. I felt judged, stereotyped, and treated with suspicion instead of respect and dignity. Fortunately, I went to another Enterprise location in the next city, where I had the exact opposite experience. The staff there treated me with kindness and professionalism, processed my gift certificate without any issues, and never once made me feel accused or unwelcome. That experience confirmed that the problem was not with my gift certificate--it was with the way I was treated at this location. I do not know the employee's name, but he appeared to be of Arab descent. Regardless of his background, no customer deserves to be treated the way I was. I hope Enterprise investigates this incident, holds the employee accountable if appropriate, and provides additional training on professionalism, respect, and nondiscriminatory customer service. No one--especially an elderly customer--should ever leave feeling humiliated and degraded simply for trying to use a valid gift certificate.

After all that, guess what? They only credited me $51. That's it. After promising me hundreds back. Then I called customer service hoping someone would fix it, and the lady on the phone was extremely rude. Didn't help, didn't care, nothing. Sixt is honestly one of the worst places I've ever rented from. I would tell anyone: RUN. Find ANY other rental company besides them. And to make things worse, when I first went there, the employees were trying to do shady stuff. They literally told my husband before that if he gave them an extra $50 on the side, they'd "hook him up" with a better car. That's fraud. That's the type of people they have working in there. Paperwork and payment were wrapped up in about 5-7 minutes, and we headed up to the 3rd level garage where another rep showed us to our car. That's where the one hiccup happened that cost this review a star. The rep handed us an exit ticket, but when we pulled up to the gate, the machine tried to charge us $190 to leave. My girlfriend darted back to the office while I sprinted upstairs with the ticket, all while a growing line of cars stacked up behind us giving me the death stare of "what the eff are you doing walking away from your car?". Running upstairs, I made the decision to use the stairs because waiting for the elevator was like watching grass grow. The agent upstairs quickly ran the ticket through the validation machine, clearing the charge. Silently in my head I said "dude ever thought of clearing the charge before giving a customer the ticket?". But I was just grateful that he cleared it and ran back downstairs all the while thinking, well at least I'm getting my cardio in for the day. Aside from that stressful detour which I chalked up to another travel adventure story that I can embellish in my older years, the car itself drove beautifully, and the return process at a nearby location just a couple blocks away was a breeze . Directions for return were clearly printed in the paperwork. I've rented from Enterprise many times before and generally had excellent experiences. Since my paperwork was pre-filled, they walked me through it to sign and initial here, here (here and here, you know the drill.) In their spacious, well-lit garage they pulled out my Nissan Versa and boom shakalaka, I was on my way in about 3 minutes. Pick up, drop off, I've rarely had such a breezy and pleasant rental car experience- and I've rented many, many cars on scores of business trips. It'd been a long time since I rented through Enterprise and their newly streamlined process changed my whole view of their company. Barun answered my phone and took the Fastrak for me. I went to pick up the Fastrak the second day (around 30 seconds). I had great experience with guys work here. When we politely asked the manager, Ishmael Turner, for an estimated wait time, he became hostile, told us we were "making it worse," and ordered us to leave the area. When I asked for his name, he first dismissed me, then after | asked again, he handed me a business card with someone else's name. I only got his real name from another staff member. While waiting, I witnessed another customer, an Asian woman, who had been there even longer, call someone to let them know she was not going to make it to the funeral because of the delay. When she asked Ishmael for his name, he refused and she took his photo, he then blocked her rental car so she couldn't leave and eventually called the police on her. When I tried to help her since she was crying, he told me to leave and threatened me with the same treatment if I didn't. This experience was chaotic, unprofessional, and honestly disturbing. If you speak up after a long wait, expect to be treated even worse. The whole process was disorganized from start to finish. I rarely leave reviews, but this felt important. Rent here only if you're okay with long delays, poor service, and being treated disrespectfully.
